WEEKLY ACTIVITY: SENSIBLE BODIES

For our collaborative activity, we dressed our male member @kye-barnes in female gendered stereotypes and expectations from our brainstorm. This choice highlights that these expectations come from the male gaze.

The box is an item of limitation similar the shoe, and everything is applied to the box which is applied to the body.

Brainstorm::

-Gender arguments have a tendency to lean towards a gender

-Hair

-crossing legs

-makeup/face

-idea of wearing jewellery

-heels and history of

-shape of body: triangle and hourglass

-acceptance of body hair

-stereotypical jobs for gender

-connotations for same qualities in gender

-movement: walking patterns, bodily positions

-men exposed/control

Weekly activity: sensible bodies

"Don't worry, Murray" is a recent favorite of mine. The book follows Murray, a nervous little dog, through a day in which he worries tremendously about things that usually don't end up happening.
