People have been speculating that the mole is Jerry (who is too obvious and too stupid) or Beth which if that were true, I personally think it would undermine her character and totally flatten the depth of her complex relationship with Rick. But his ex??? Why tf not??? It gives backstory to both Beth and Rick, shes known Rick for at LEAST 15 years (Beth was 14 when Rick left) making her the person who probably knows him best. She’s been foreshadowed/referenced a number of times it’s ridiculous at this point if she doesn’t appear in canon at some point even in just a passing family portrait or a quickie flashback.

I mean she’s indirectly referenced constantly throughout the ep with Rick complaining about his marriage and Beth talking about her broken family.

It’s revealed that the federation has been desperately hunting down Rick and his rebellion comrades via highly trained double agents like Tammy who may have had to stay undercover for ~3+ years and that they’d track him down

by torturing/interrogating his family.

it’s not a stretch to assume they’d been spying on him maybe even YEARS before and stumbled upon the wife he left. She’s the perfect candidate. Even though we don’t know much about her character of the exact nature of he and Rick’s relationship it’s a good bet that torture is enough motivation to rat on your undercover terrorist husband to the Feds? And I just??? Mrs Sanchez is the mole everybody.
