The Good
Currently, I’m working at my internship in the heart of Austin, Texas as an Electrical Co-Op. I work on designing in AutoCAD, Revit, and Visual. There is so much I have learned in the past two semesters working for this company. I plan to impart this wisdom to you over the duration of March. My perspective will be useful to you if you’re also a young woman in your twenties living in a busy city and completing your degree at a university. If you’re a student, please submit content to my blog! All knowledge is good knowledge.

Women in ECE biweekly luncheon. Topics of discussion were studying for the qualifying exam and networking for post-graduation jobs.
WECE (Women in ECE) biweekly luncheon. Sardi's for lunch. Some topics of discussion: more new female graduate students this year (yay!), ratio of women to men in ECE in other countries, and how Tian lost her luggage in Italy.

Second Week
Wow, its been two weeks! So I went to the SWE Tea with the Dean on Tuesday. If you didn't go you didn't miss much. The dean of engineering spoke to us, first time I've seen him. Officers in SWE spoke, and so did a few teachers. There was an activity to meet people in your major and other girls in engineering. There were sandwiches and cupcakes - the chicken salad sandwiches were really good. We got a membership form for free membership for our first year to SWE. We also got cool free mugs that say SWE Tea with the Dean! On Wednesday I had my first lab for Chem 1212K, it was paper chromatography - I am so glad we finished early (2 instead of 3 hours). Thursday I went to the ECE Rush in Klaus. It was not that great. There was free pizza, and booths for research groups, and organizations. Some of these groups include IEEE, WECE, and research going on in ECE. I joined both the IEEE - a professional organization, and WECE - Women in ECE. Hopefully, I get a free t-shirt. I missed T-Night, but I heard the fireworks were brilliant. Also, we had our first football game this weekend - I heard we won. I would have gone but it's labor day weekend! I went home! All in all, this was a pretty good week. I figured out the Woody's is only good for dessert, so I'll have to head over to North Ave more often. It was really hot on Thursday and Friday, so I'm glad to be out of the heat. I sure am a Ramblin' Wreck today.
