2022 Eremis had just had her first big moment in the story so I'm no surprised she wone the vote from my very tiny audience at the time.
In 2023 my readers voted for Izzie to get fishified and I had so much fun with her design. That poofy hair in the water was just so fun!
In 2024 Fiona was chosen by readers for my Mermay illustration. I decided to specifically base her design on her Dragon form. This is relevant to what I did for 2026.
Last year I had a bit more time so I was able do do art for both the first and second place winners of my Mermay Patreon poll. I absolutely adored how both of these turned out. The subtle trans colors for Drews tail and the seaweed binder were ideas I had been thinking about for while and I of course had to give Brie an absolutely massive sword.
This years mermay patreon poll was extremely funny to me. Tristan was the only member of the main cast who hadn't been fishified yet but he still somehow lost to Fiona a SECOND time and tied for second place with Quinn.
Since I had previously done one of Fire chained to an underwater volcano I decide to do an inverse of that for Fiona. Then I made an executive decision to give the second slot to Tristan. I'm really glad I did cuz he came out so cute!
