Right in the heart of downtown is our very own @vancouverpubliclibrary’s rooftop garden with a view. This accessible little haven on the 9th floor is so very lovely right now with the autumn foliage. The sweet scent of roses and lavender fills the air. If you need to take a quick breather, a moment of silence, or really, sometimes we all need just a different view, this is a good place to visit. I haven’t been cooking or posting anything for a month now because I had to have some surgery. I’m now feeling a bit better, but for several days the only position I could be in was lying flat on my back and not moving at all. I’m normally a very active person who can’t stay in one place. I’m always on the move and doing things. Staying in bed for several days has made me realise how lucky we are to be able to walk, run, dance and jump around. I have a big respect for people who can’t move for different reasons - some of them can’t even move their legs, fingers or head - including a friend of mine who had a car accident when he was 18. It’s very important to realise how lucky we are guys and be happy every day. I have a huge respect for people who can’t move and still manage to give a smile to life.
