Whenever Lexa is in new company, she makes a point to keep one of her many blades out and in sight. And even after she’s become familiar with them, she keeps this practice up; her coalition meetings, making Clarke’s acquaintance for the first time. The list goes on. It’s a sort of alpha tactic she’s picked up over the years of leading. While the Commander isn’t short by any means, her frame isn’t as intimidating as some of the other grounders; Nyko for example. She makes up for that with her piercing gaze, however. It’s been known to freeze many a warrior in their tracks

Bellamy appears to be more observant than he lets on, because every time she’s met with Skaikru, a different knife has been shown off. “It’s quite common for a person to accumulate a collection based on what brings them joy,” She says simply. “They serve me for hunting, close quarter combat, and stealth attacks.” The Commander takes several steps toward him. “I also find them useful for silencing those who ask stupid questions.” Her lips are drawn in a thin line and the rest of her face is rendered in a deadpan. She allows a few beats to pass before a tilt of her head and a smirk at his reaction.

“Clarke, it was three A-M, I didn’t even know who I was, and you were making a shit ton of noise.” Raven defended herself. She hardly even remembered waking to the sound of her friend coming home from the bars in the wee hours of the morning. “I thought we were being robbed!” Had the mechanic been more coherent during the incident, she would have been able to deduce the drunken blonde taking ten minutes to untie her shoes and fifteen to ascend the staircase was indeed not there to take their belongings.

“I do!” Octavia insisted. The color drained from her face once her fingers could feel an empty sheath on her back. Just to be sure, she felt around some more but still came up empty handed. “Raven, where’s the sword?” Blue eyes widened as fear began to overtake her. It didn’t help that they could barely see more than a small cone in front of them. It seemed the mechanic’s flashlight wasn’t designed for long range. “Aw fuck, I knew this was a bad idea.” The set of tunnels they were currently exploring were rumored to be haunted. At least, that’s what the grounders believed. And while Skaikru initially wrote this off as the clans being superstitious, Octavia was thinking maybe there was something to those ghost stories.

The warrior’s biceps brushed against some cobwebs in the dark, sending shivers up her arm and down her spine. “AAAHHHH! AHHHHHHHH!” Octavia screamed, voice echoing off the walls of the underpass and she then proceeded to kick, and karate chop the air around her. The younger Blake calmed down shortly after, glad that only Raven was present to witness that interesting display. “I think maybe we should go back.” She unraveled a cloth map from her pocket and used Reyes’ light to make sense of the directions. “For one my sword is gone and two, we’re gonna get lost down here.”
