Liminal Space by CalamityJim
Part of my #Thanksvember series, a daily fic rec challenge created by @anidealiveson to show our appreciation for all fic writers out there.
It occurred to me that it... might not be so good to line up Bad Ending fics all up and down my recs queue, so here’s a brief respite for y’all. A feel-good cross-dimensional travel fic for the Batfam. Main continuity Bruce is an asshole? Don’t worry, here’s a fix-it!
Title: Liminal Space

There’s not much that happens for the beginning of this issue, except with the heroes fighting the Robotized Masters forms of the Chaotix. Sonic does make some Mega Man X references by almost calling them Maverick names by accident, and reminding me of Vectorman back in the day.
I do think that Sonic is written as a little bit more of an egotist in this crossover, probably so that he and Mega Man can be characterized differently from each oher. Its a little bit jarring considering Sonic in Archie Comics is not that much of a jerk and more of a friend to the Freedom Fighters and whatnot.
Proto Man’s always been such a cool, interesting character in Mega Man canon. He’s like if Shadow was working on the heroes’ side but always ending up splitting off the team because he believes only his method of attack is right.

Vector’s not having a good time.
Eventually. Mega Man and Tails are able to use Mega Man’s shots to cure the heroes of their Roboticization. Kind weird but funny that in the chart of which boss is weak to who’s weapon, its Charmy who’s weak to Vector Man’s weapon, and not the other way around because the former always irritates the latter?
Also I feel bad for Vector because his weapon just has to be based on just how badly he can sing.
Okay, so this moment is pretty suspenseful in how sudden it occurs. Rush man just barely points out that the gang is still in danger. Espio Man tries to do an invisible backstab like he’s the Spy from Team Fortress 2, almost killing Mega Man and incidentally strangling Sonic with his tail!
I dunno, in an issue that mostly consists of fight scenes, this slow and suspenseful page kinda took me off-guard.
