Walking out onto the front porch of your home in the very early morning with a cup of coffee and no sleep wasn't how you preferred to start your days but it was unfortunately how some days started.
What else was unfortunate though much less excusable was the sight of your son and nephew walking up the street, bits of their costumes still peaking through their clothes.
Usually you would sit on the lovely porch swing your husband built and sip your coffee as you prepared for the continuation of an already long day but today was not usual so instead you took your mug and made your way to the front of your lawn, lying in wait for your son and his cousin, hand on your hip and brows unimpressed.
"Heyyyyyy Dad" Jon said, trying to move past you into the house but you stopped him.
"Where were you?" You asked.
"Um, Damian and I were... out" He said.
"Until when?" You asked.
"Um, now... I know it's late but we got caught up and—"
"You know our rules about patrols on school nights Jon" You told him and Damian rolled his eyes.
"I don't see why your so confident, it's a school day for you too Damian" You said.
"Tt, then I will miss one day of school. I see this as a win" He says and you smirked.
"You misunderstand. Jon goes to school here, he may be tired all day and that may be his punishment for staying out past his curfew but you still have to get back to Gotham" You said.
"I do not see your point" Damian said but Jon looked at him in horror.
"Both of you go inside, get ready for school" You told them and Jon immediately did as he was told but Damian didn't quite understand.
"Damian, just do what he says" Jon tried to warn his cousin but it was too late.
"Well Damian, after Jon gets on his bus you and I are going to take a nice long drive to Gotham where I'm going to drop you off at school, and walk you to your class, and take the time to speak to your teacher, and wave goodbye to you and all your friends" You explained and in that moment Damian understood. He was used to harsh discipline. Punishments and groundings but in that moment he realized why his brothers always did as you said. You weren't like his father or his mother or even Alfred, no, you punished in your own sick way because you learned a long time ago you weren't one for traditional discipline.
"I see why Todd does everything he says" Damian whispered to Jon and you smiled.

A Sense Of Normalcy (Clark Kent x Wayne Male!Reader)
Part one of two that will be released simultaneously. Might write more for this so I'm calling this Wayne!bro Reader.
Reader is Bruce's older brother (hence why it's not batbro)
Part 2
Word count: like 6k (ish) not super sure but this thing is long and took a while to write.
Summery: You can't help your desire for something normal, after all nothing about your life has been normal so far. When your parents died in a mugging and left you and your younger brother Bruce orphans you gave up all semblance of normalcy, which is why you're incredibly surprised when an incredibly sweet reporter manages to sweep you off your feet and make you feel normal.
Warning: Reference to child soldiers (no details given, it's a tiny comment), light descriptions of injury, mostly just family drama.
Bruce wasn’t the only Wayne child that lost his parents on the tragic night we all know too well.
He may have been the only one left alive in that alley but his older brother Y/N got to hear about the loss only hours later.
You were five years older than Bruce, the eldest Wayne son and on the night of your parent’s murder you were sleeping at a friend’s house, having fun and playing games to celebrate his birthday.
You dealt with the loss differently than your brother though. Bruce saw his world fall apart but you were simply told. You lost your parents but you weren't there. You didn’t hear the gunshot or see the blood or fear for your life. So you also grieved differently. For a long time you felt guilty, guilty that your younger brother was the one who had to watch your parents die. Guilty that you didn’t go to the movies with them that night, maybe if you were there you could have done something, maybe you could have died instead.
It was when that thought first crossed your mind that you knew you needed help. This was too much for you to deal with on your own. And in fact you didn’t, you had Alfred and your friends, your therapist whom you saw regularly for years and to some extent you had Bruce.
But Bruce wasn’t your best friend. The two of you didn’t have that kind of relationship. You would tease the young boy a lot before that fateful day, gave him funny nicknames and occasionally took his stuff, everything a good older brother should do. But even so, you loved Bruce to the moon and back. He was your baby brother after all and you remembered your mother teaching you how to change his diapers when you wanted to help with the baby or how little Bruce would waddle after his you as a toddler. But when Thomas and Martha Wayne died there became a rift.
You grieved, cried, mourned but you also moved on. You refused to let the tragedy define you and instead you worked to lead the company and charities that your parents devoted their lives to.
Bruce on the other hand withdrew. He sought revenge, sought to stop such things from ever happening again.
Bruce, became obsessed with the event. Nothing you or Alfred did to help him overcome the loss helped. He mourned and he grew but he let that event define how he would live his life and at the age of 18 you walked into Bruce’s room in the manor to find a note from on his desk. He explained in the note that he was going to learn as much as he could about combat and would return to protect Gotham City. After that Bruce didn’t pick up his phone or reply to emails and for months you left voicemails going from screaming at your younger brother’s recklessness and lack of communication to crying and begging for Bruce to answer just so that you knew that the only family member you had left was still alive.
It took seven years for Bruce to return to Gotham from his “studies abroad” as you and Alfred told the press. When Alfred picked him up from the airport Bruce was relieved his brother wasn’t there.
“I wouldn’t be relieved quite yet if I were you master Bruce, Master Y/N is waiting to greet you back at the manor” Alfred told him and took his bags to the car.
And indeed he was right because when Bruce came back to the manor, you were pacing back and forth, waiting, and when Bruce walked in you turned to face him.
Your face was a mix of conflicting emotions, anger and delight, love and hatred. Bruce stood there watching your face contort and eventually reach a decision. You ran to your younger brother and embraced him in a bone breaking hug.
“You idiot, you thick headed numskull” You said as you practically choked Bruce in a hug. Bruce hugged back as much as he could and when you let go he hunched over in pain as he realized you had punched him in the gut.
“What were you thinking?! You ran away without a word, didn’t answer me or Alfred almost at all and went no contact for seven years!” You yelled and Bruce wasn’t sure how to respond. The whiplash of the emotional extremes was disorienting.
“You look tired” He simply said and you stopped, looking at your brother.
“Well I’ve been doing a lot, you know, running Wayne Enterprise by myself.” You said and you knew that the sarcasm might have been a bit much but you didn’t care. You had taken the position of CEO and chair of Wayne enterprises four years ago and coupled with the loneliness of the manor you felt emotionally and physically exhausted.
“I’m sorry” Bruce said and you nodded.
“If I’m being honest with you, I don’t care. Just please tell me you’re staying” You said and Bruce saw the fragility in your eyes. His brother who had always seemed invincible. The brother that promised to protect him from the world after their parents' deaths, just wanted his younger brother to stay.
“Yes. I’m staying in Gotham” He said and you smiled a tired but relieved smile.
“Very good master Bruce, I will make your favorite for dinner then. We shall celebrate” Alfred said and both you and Bruce turned around, having completely forgotten the butler was there.
After that you reintroduced Bruce to public life and you began leading Wayne Enterprises as co chairs. Everything seemed good. Mostly.
Bruce was brooding and you could tell that he was very different from the boy you once knew. Something happened to Bruce on his travels. Something that led to the birth of Batman.
“So you want to dress up as a bat and beat up criminals?” You asked Bruce. The two of you sat in your office in the manor.
“I want to make a change Y/N. The kind of change that the police and charity work can’t do. I need to become a symbol, strike terror in the hearts of criminals. I’m going to do anything I can to make sure no one has to go through what we did.” Bruce declared but you sighed.
“Bruce, what happened to mom and dad was a tragedy. Trust me I know as well as anyone. But vigilantism isn’t going to stop random muggings. This isn’t a healthy way to cope.” You told Bruce but you saw the determination in your brother’s eyes. There was nothing you could do to dissuade him.
“You’re an adult, it’s not like I can stop you but Bruce please listen to me, this is not the way to seek justice. This isn’t healthy.” You said, your voice was softer and you hoped it would help your brother be reasonable but Bruce stood up.
“I have to do this Y/N. I’m sorry” He said and walked out and you watched as he shut the door behind him and held your head in your hands. You knew your life would never be the same.
Three Years later
Bruce was batman. That was your new normal. Your brother ran around Gotham in a surprisingly high tech batsuit and even though for the first few years the police weren’t his biggest fans, he kept going. Now you weren’t proud of him, but you were happy to have him around again. So when he told you he was adopting a kid you were caught off guard.
“What do you mean by adopting, and for that matter what do you mean by kid? Bruce, you're not even thirty, the last time you were in a stable relationship was in highschool and you’ve never shown any interest in being a dad. What is going on?” You asked and Bruce told you.
He was at the circus investigating when he saw the flying Grayson’s last performance. The one where John and Mary Grayson fell to their deaths. He explained how he wanted to take in their son, Richard and then you understood. You smiled realizing that Bruce was trying to help someone like him. “I can’t wait to meet him then, and to be an uncle” You told him and Bruce smiled just a little bit.
A few days later when you met Richard you were surprised by how small he was. With his black hair and blue eyes he really did look like Bruce at that age.
Bruce escorted him into the manor and you came out to meet him.
“Hey Richard, I’m Y/N Wayne, it’s nice to meet you” You said, bending down to be at eye level with the eight year old as you held out your hand. He took it and shook it hesitantly.
“It’s um, It’s Dick actually” He told you and you nodded.
“Alright then Dick, I’m very happy to have you moving in, it was getting lonely just Bruce, Alfred and I” You said and he looked confused.
“It’s just you three in this huge house?” He asked and you nodded.
“Yup, so it’s really nice to have someone new” You told him with a smile as you stood back up. “I have a board meeting, I’ll have notes sent over to you later” You told Bruce as you walked out, grabbing your coat and hoisting your messenger bag over your shoulder.
Having Dick at the manor was a very refreshing change and you saw how Bruce smiled more when the boy was around. Not by much, this was still Bruce but you noticed the slight change. Dick brought more life back into the manor. He asked questions and sought out answers.
When Bruce enrolled him in Gotham Academy you smirked.
“I’m sure that Headmaster Hammer loved seeing you again” You quipped when Bruce told you.
“Not much he can do about it, Dick is a good kid, he’ll be fine”
Up until know you did your best to keep yourself away from anything Batman. You’ve never been to the Batcave or seen Bruce in the batsuit. You don’t keep up with his adventures and the two of you never talk about patrol, but when you found out that Bruce was bringing Dick along on his nightly crusade you knew you had to step in.
“You can’t be serious! I can forgive illegal vigilantism Bruce but child soldiers? Is that where you’re at with this Batman obsession of yours?!” You questioned, you had cornered Bruce in his office at the manor.
“I’m training him to get justice for his parent’s murder. He needs this.” Bruce said and you glared at him.
“He needs this?” You asked shocked. “You know, when you told me you wanted to adopt a kid I thought it was to make sure he didn’t become like you, like us. To give him a family but Bruce, I never thought you’d stoop so low as to use children in your god forsaken crusade” You told him coldly.
“You don’t understand. You never will. Dick isn’t like you, he’s like me. He’s capable and he wants to do this. Now get out of my office, I don’t have time to listen to another one of your goddamn lectures, you’re the one who said you wanted nothing to do with Batman. I’m not asking for permission or forgiveness” Bruce said coldly but you stood your ground.
“If this was another grown adult I wouldn’t be here Bruce but he’s eight. I don’t give a rat’s ass about Batman, I care about the vulnerable kid you’re choosing to bring into it and I swear if something happens to him because of your stupidity I will bring your entire operation down and I will personally drag Batman through the mud.” You told him and then stormed out.
That argument was a point of tension with Bruce for years. You refused to support Batman even if the city supported him, if Alfred supported him, if Wayne Enterprises supported him, even if the whole world supported Batman. You could never do it because Batman took your brother from you. It’s why you stayed as far away from anything Batman as you could. If the dark hero were someone else, some stranger you wouldn't be like this. You knew it was selfish but the reason you hated Batman was because for him to exist Bruce Wayne had to sacrifice himself.
Tensions ran high in the manor every time Batman became a topic, Alfred and Bruce tried not to talk about it around you but Dick was young and he didn’t quite understand why his uncle figure didn’t want to hear about his nightly adventures.
“Why don’t you tell me about school?” You said whenever he tried to tell a story from a patrol.
“But, this is so cool! I got to meet Superman and Wonder Woman and Flash! And they were really nice, you’d like them Y/N” The young boy said one day at dinner and you sighed. But gave up trying to steer the conversation away.
“So you went to the new hall?” You asked and he nodded enthusiastically.
“It’s super cool! It has a bunch of tech and it’s kind of like the Batcave” The boy raved and you used the years of training you had in faking interest to keep a smile on your face. You loved Dick and he was young, he didn’t know you wanted nothing to do with The Batman and it would be a long time before he understood why.
“You should come see it with us, since you already know about it” Dick said and you had to admit you were curious, especially since Bruce and by extension you were funding it.
“It would be nice to see how everything turned out, make sure my money’s being put to good use” You said and Bruce butted in.
“Our money.” He said and you rolled your eyes.
“Wayne money is being put to good use” You corrected, it was somewhat of an ongoing joke between you and Bruce that since you ran Wayne Enterprises (AKA the money making side of the family business) it was your money. It was only a joke though and it helped to create yours and Bruce’s characters for the public. He was the fun loving billionaire partying playboy with a heart of gold and you were the calm and collected corporate business man who led Wayne Ent.
Bruce took most of the media attention for himself and his laid back, fun loving persona while you got to live a more private life and run the business. It took some of the pressure off of you while allowing Bruce to work on his passions (and Batman) without worrying too much about maintaining a billion dollar corporation.
That’s why on a slow evening you went with Bruce (as Batman) and Dick (as Robin) to the brand new Hall of Justice.
You walked in beside Dick in the same suit you wore to work before and you quickly realized that when surrounded by superheroes in capes and spandex you in your business suit were the odd one out.
“League, I’d like you to meet Y/N Wayne-” Bruce began and you held back a chuckle as you heard his “Batman voice” for the first time.
“As in the billionaire?” The flash butt in and you smiled.
“As in the one funding this operation” You joked and laughed through Bruce’s side glare.
“Very happily by the way. Wayne Enterprises is more than happy to donate this building and all of the equipment in it to ensure earth’s heroes can keep the planet safe” You said, in full corporate mode. You had perfected this persona over a few years of working at WE. Your tone was captivating and you confidently stood straight with an even voice.
“He wanted to come see the Hall!” Dick said excitedly, dragging you around the building showing you computers and training rooms and talking excitedly about the League.
Meanwhile the League themselves looked at Bruce curiously. They all knew his secret identity but during the construction of the Hall when they asked if you’d be coming by (since it was your company funding it) he said you aren’t associated or planning on associating with Batman.
“So spooky, what changed? Cause that doesn’t look like someone who’s upset his brother dresses up as a depressed bat to fight crime” Hal asked Bruce and your brother, still completely in his Batman persona said, “Dick asked him to come”.
While Dick was showing you around the Hall Superman approached you.
“Mr. Wayne, it’s nice to meet you” Superman said, holding out his hand for you to shake. You nodded and shook his hand.
“And it’s an honor to meet you Superman” You said with your usual corporate charm and the man of steel smiled.
“Please call me Kal. I understand you’re not interested in associating with us too much personally but you can feel comfortable here” He said and now it was your turn to smile, a real one this time not your fake smile.
“Now where did you hear something like that?” You asked and he looked a bit confused.
“Well, Batman said it was Robin who convinced you to come here-” He said and you rolled your eyes.
“My problem isn’t with the League Superman. My br- Batman is- well we don’t always agree on things. But I appreciate all of what the League has done. You all are heroes, giving everything you have to make the world a better place.” You told him and you noticed the sincerity fall into your voice as the topic became personal.
“My family has prided ourselves on protecting and helping Gotham for generations and I am happy to grow that tradition and sponsor the League to allow you to make the world a better place” You told him and your chest filled with pride as you told him about your family. As much as you disliked his nightly activities over the past few years you began to accept that it wouldn't change. This is your brother now and you had to accept it. Besides, he was a hero. He saved the world.
Superman smiled, “I’m sure they would be proud of you and your brother’s efforts” Kal said and your smile faltered only slightly.
“You know, don't you?” You asked. You didn’t talk to Bruce about the League so you didn’t know if they knew his secret identity. When Kal nodded that he in fact knew you smiled sadly.
“You know I think this is as close to a real friend group he’s had in years” You said and Kal looked sympathetic.
“I’m not sure we count as friends quite yet” he said and you nodded and looked at him as if saying that’s what makes it so sad.
“Thank you by the way, he’s an ass to deal with and I can’t imagine how he is as Batman but he’s passionate about what he does here and I owe you thanks for helping him” You confessed and Kal chuckled.
“He’s a special one that’s for sure.” He said and you were the one to ask the next question.
“So do all of you know?” You asked and Kal nodded.
“We all know each other’s identities, yes” He said and you smirked slightly, teasing.
“And do I get to know?” You asked and he laughed. A warm laugh that made you smile.
“That depends, can you keep a secret?” He asked in the same teasing tone and you playfully pretended to zip your lips.
“My name is Clark Kent” Kal- or rather Clark said and your face shifted to slight surprise.
“The Daily Planet reporter?” You asked and he smiled nodding. “I read your articles on the Wilson v Brown court case, it was incredibly interesting. You do some great work” You said you swore you saw a hint of blush on Superman’s face. Just then Dick ran back into the room with Green Lantern and Flash.
“Mr. Wayne! Flash and GL wanted to meet you!” Dick said. The little 11 year old was so excited to finally merge his worlds but Flash and Green Lantern looked more embarrassed than excited.
You turned from Clark to the newcomers and smiled at Dick. You loved your nephew dearly and your heart grew when you saw his giddiness.
“It’s a pleasure to meet the both of you” You tell the heroes and shake their hands.
“So…” Flash said awkwardly and you smirked.
“I am many things Flash but I’m not a snitch. If you want dirt on Batman you’ll have to find it somewhere else” You said and they both looked at you stunned.
“Is the detective-ness genetic or something?” Lantern asked and you chuckled.
“It was written all over your face, it’s not that hard to guess” You said lightheartedly and put your arms around little Dick as the boy beamed.
“Besides, what kind of example would I be setting if I told you all the adorable things Batman did before you knew him” You teased and The men looked almost devastated. You found this hilarious.
“Y/N, you should go. An alert just came up for an earthquake in Japan.” Bruce said and you smiled slightly seeing him. You never thought you’d feel this way, you still hated The Batman but you were starting to see that maybe this was the right thing for Bruce. Maybe.
“Don’t worry, I won’t get in your way” You said you nodded thanks to the rest of the League, hugged Dick and walked out of the Hall. As you walked out you looked over your shoulder and smiled at Clark who was still watching your retreating image.
…
The next time you saw Clark was a few months later in his civilian alter ego. You were at your office at Wayne Enterprises editing new safety policies you were supposed to bring to the board later when your assistant’s voice buzzed over the intercom phone on your desk. “Mr. Wayne, the reporter from the daily planet is here for your 3 o’clock” She said and you sighed. You completely forgot about that.
“Let them in” You said into the device and you heard the beep of the call ending and the click of your office door opening.
You were expecting some business reporter, but when a muscular man with black hair, blue eyes and glasses walked through your door you smirked to hide the genuine joy you felt seeing the man.
“Well if it isn’t Clark Kent. What’s an investigative reporter like you doing here?” You asked teasingly and the man smiled sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck.
“I’m here to interview you about the new Wayne Ent. branch opening in Metropolis?” He said though it didn’t sound like he was so sure.
“Really? I thought I’d get some prissy business reporter, though I’m glad to be wrong for once. Please sit down” You said. Motioning to the leather lined chairs on the right side of the room as you stood from behind your desk.
Your office was admittedly a bit extravagant but it helped you work (not to mention looked very impressive in photos and interviews).
It was a decently large room (for an office) with a beautiful dark wooden desk on the left side, some nice chairs around a coffee table on the right and a few shelves with books, trinkets and photo frames around the walls.
The far wall was the highlight though. Your office was on the top floor of the building and your exterior wall was a gorgeous floor to ceiling window that looked out at the city.
You walked over to the sitting area and sat down on one of the comfortable chairs, Clark following after you, sitting in front of you.
“So, can we begin?” He asked, setting a tape recorder on the table in front of you.
“Whenever you’re ready” You told him confidently and he smiled.
The two of you discussed the new branch and new changes within your family business for almost an hour and when Clark put his voice recorder away you smiled, a real, natural smile. Not the fake one you used during the interview out of habit or at events.
“Thanks for coming Clark, it was a refreshing change of pace” You said and shook his hand.
“Well, it’s my job” he said cheekily and you laughed.
“Are you in a rush back to Metropolis?” You asked as you walked him out of your office and he shook his head.
“Not really, why?” He answered.
“Would you like to go get a cup of coffee with me?” You asked and Clark seemed caught off guard. You weren’t sure if it was because you misunderstood and the two of you were in fact not flirting or maybe he just wasn’t into men. Either way you were about to backtrack when he nodded.
“I’d love to” He said and you kept walking with him.
“Hailey, I’ll be back in an hour or so, call only in case of emergency please” You told your assistant as you walked by her desk and she nodded.
The two of you left the building and walked around Old Gotham. Clark wrapped himself in his coat and you chuckled.
“Cold?” You asked and he laughed a bit himself.
“Chilly, yeah” He answered and you nodded.
“You get used to it here, I’m guessing the same doesn’t exist in metropolis?” You asked. You’ve been to Metropolis a few times, always on business. It was a nice place, definitely brighter than Gotham.
“The closest thing I can think of would be the noise, and the super villains but I hear you have that here too” He joked and you laughed, nodding.
“The one thing we aren’t short on unfortunately”
The two of you made it to a small, cozy coffee shop and you walked in and ordered your usual hot drink of choice.
You sat down in a booth at the edge of the shop and Clark spoke up.
“So, may I ask what brought the CEO of Wayne Ent. on an outing with a reporter from out of town?” He asked in a light tone and his welcoming voice sounded like music to your ears.
“Well, even busy people desire company” You said, “And I like your company”.
You dated a bit before, in college you had a fairly steady partner and you’ve been on a few dates since but you’re a busy man with a lot of secrets and prestige for the average person. It made dating difficult. As a teenager and young adult you stuck to mostly the upper class boys you knew grew up like you but it never worked out. When you met Clark though something about him was appealing. Maybe it was the fact that he had secrets too, or the fact that he was a hero trying to make the world a better place both as himself and as Superman. Hell maybe it was just that he was an attractive guy. Something was there that made you crave his company. So you talked. A little about work, a little about your lives. You learned that Clark grew up in Smallville and moved to Metropolis to work as a journalist, how even before he became Superman he wanted to give people hope and make the world a better place.
You told him about your childhood in that manor, and how even though you didn’t love your job you loved using your position to help people and the city of Gotham. It was nice to just talk to someone. So often you felt like you had to be the Y/N Wayne that you almost forgot what it was like being truly yourself, without having to seem perfectly calm and collected. Without being the put together Wayne brother.
On Clark’s end this was the first time he went out with someone who knew about his secret. He didn’t have to worry about keeping that part of himself a secret and it was calming to know you didn’t judge him for it.
“You don’t have to answer this but, why are you so against Batman” He asked and you sighed.
“You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to, I was just curious-” You cut him off though.
“No, it's fine.” You told him and took a sip of your drink.
“If he was anyone else I wouldn’t be like this. I agree with what Batman stands for, having someone to protect this city from the lunatic psychopaths that the police can’t deal with is good.” You shared and looked down at your drink. “But for that protector of Gotham to exist… Bruce Wayne can’t. He can’t live a normal life, or have a family, or even really be happy because he has to be full of rage. Even if it’s deep inside.” You finally said. You took another sip of your drink as Clark simply watched you, listening to every word.
“That night in the alley, when everything changed, it drove Bruce into a different world. I guess it took The Batman for me to realize that the kid I knew, the one who would run around the manor and smile so often, he would never come back.”
Clark looked at you with what was either pity or sympathy, you couldn’t find the emotional energy to try to differentiate.
“That must be really hard, for both of you” He said and you nod.
“I wasn’t there that night. If I was there- well I don’t wanna think about who I would have become. But Bruce disappeared for seven years before Batman was born and when he came back I thought that maybe I got him back. Maybe he healed while he was away but… I was wrong” You confessed and Clark placed his hand over yours on the table. You looked up, surprised by the contact.
“Still, it seems to me that he has the best older brother to help him through everything” He said and you smiled and couldn’t hold the blush back from your cheeks.
“Thank you Clark” You told him, your hand still under his. You took another sip of your drink and tried to lighten the conversation again. “So, you’re an only child?”
He nodded and retracted his hand, “Yeah, just me, Ma and Pa on the farm” He said and you nodded, you missed the warmth of his hand on yours.
“That sounds nice, must’ve been quiet” You said and he nodded.
“It was nice, I wouldn’t trade it for the world but it was very quiet. I like living in the city though, it’s a bit more exciting” He joked and you laughed.
The two of you had a really nice time and when you looked at your watch you noticed that in the blink of an eye almost two hours passed.
“I completely lost track of time, I have to get back to the office but I had a really nice time” You said and Clark smiled.
“I had a really good time too Y/N” He paid for the coffee (against your insistence that you asked him out so you should pay) and you two walked back in the direction of Wayne Tower.
You rifled through your wallet and pulled out a piece of paper, giving it to Clark as you arrived back at the Tower.
“I’d love to do this again sometime, here or in Metropolis, I don’t mind” you said, giving him the card.
He looked at it and smiled, “I’m guessing this is your personal number” He joked and you laughed and nodded.
“Wouldn’t want you calling Hailey by accident” You replied and you smiled as he got into a taxi and drove off.
The rest of your day was better just because of your little date. You were in high spirits, got everything done on time and even managed to get ahead a bit before heading home.
-
You met with Clark on a few other dates and your relationship grew. Of course you didn’t mention this to Bruce. It was none of his business. Unfortunately when he walked out of the Batcave one night, three months after you began to date Clark you could feel the anger radiate off of your younger brother. He was dressed in a turtleneck and slacks which is as close to casual as Bruce gets and you smirked from behind the book you were reading.
“What’s got you so riled up copycat?” You teased and he stopped a few feet in front of you.
“I can’t believe you.” He said and you looked up at him, finally putting the book down.
“What?” You asked and Bruce’s knuckles became white from how hard he was clenching his fists.
“Clark? Really Y/N? Out of everybody you could choose to date, you chose him?” He questioned and your face straightened.
“What do you want Bruce? He’s a good man, a great reporter and very polite. What are you mad about?” You asked and Bruce’s eyes twitched.
“I don’t understand you. You yell and threaten me because I go out and fight crime but when you look for a partner you go to Superman? You’re a goddamn hypocrite!” He explained and you went back to your book.
“Really? You’re wondering why I have an issue with my very human brother dressing up and punching criminals but not the nearly indestructible alien?” You asked sarcastically. You knew you were being petty but so was Bruce. He’s had an on and off flirtation with Catwoman from what you heard and preferred to be seen with a never ending series of models and actors just to keep up his playboy persona.
“You met him through Batman so why seek him out?” Bruce asked coldly and you stood up, putting your book away for good.
“Bruce. It took me damn near five years to learn to butt out of your nightly activities, but I did. Because it’s your life and I can’t change it no matter how much I want to so all I ask is that you butt out of my dating life. Besides, I'm not going out with Superman, I’m going out with Clark Kent. The reporter. Aren’t you the one who's constantly disconnecting his hero life with his secret identity? You should be able to make the distinction” You said and walked to your bedroom to continue reading in private. Bruce watched you go with anger. It wasn’t just that. Over the last year or so he and Clark became close, it felt like some sort of betrayal when he found out that his older brother was dating his best friend. But he learned.
The Wayne brother’s relationship wasn’t the most communicative but it worked for them. They would keep their feelings private until something moved them past the line they drew in the sand and they’d finally argue about it. That’s how it’s been since they were kids and it was no different now that they were adults. Neither you nor Bruce were ever exceptionally good at talking to each other.
“I just don’t understand him sometimes Clark. It’s as if he forgets he’s human and those patrols of his end with injuries and scars and damage.” You told Clark on the phone. You were pacing around your office while you talked to your boyfriend.
“I mean, he knows what he’s doing and he's good at what he does” Clark tried to say but you wouldn’t let him.
“But he’s still human. He can still break. And he does.” You told him and finally sat down in one of the leather chairs. You gazed out at the city skyline view.
“I’m sorry, I’ve only been talking about myself. How are you love?” You asked and smiled as Clark still stuttered a bit at the nickname.
“I’m good. Last minute editing for my article on the bank robberies downtown is almost done which is nice and I finally got around to cleaning the apartment” He said and you enjoyed hearing the levity in his voice.
“I can’t wait to read that article when it finally publishes” You said and you heard him laugh from the other end of the phone.
“As if you haven’t read the draft a million times” He said mid laughter and you smiled.
“Helping you edit it isn’t the same as reading it” You teased. It was these moments you loved with Clark. Being able to be normal. Just two people who love each other talking about their day and laughing at each other’s jokes. No billion dollar company to run or people to impress or reputations to keep up. Just normal. It was something you got surprisingly little of in your life so you cherished every bit of normalcy you got.
“You know the view from here is beautiful” You said, suddenly changing the mood and you could practically feel the shift in Clark’s posture. You were being sentimental, he could tell.
Over the past few months you got into a rhythm. You’d send each other good morning texts when you woke up and try to talk during the day even though both of you were busy. You got to know each other and how you work. You saw that Clark, the real Clark was a mix of his Superman persona and Clark Kent. He wasn’t nearly as awkward or clumsy as he was as Clark but a lot of the confidence he has as Superman is faked.
The real Clark is calm and yet comfortable in his body. He’s funny and sweet and can be very sappy. He’s also very good at switching between his Clark Kent and Superman personas. Not so much with letting himself be exactly that. Himself.
You didn’t know but on his end of the line, all the way on top of the giant globe of the Daily Planet Clark sat, in his Superman suit, and smiled imagining your view of the sun setting over Gotham.
He loved you dearly. It was a relief for him that you already knew he was Superman but didn’t know him long enough as the man of steel to see him only as his hero persona. As for what he learned about you well, He learned that like your brother you were incredibly passionate. He saw your love for helping people. How you could discuss the latest book you read for hours on end. Even how you enjoyed taking arrogant pricks down a peg. (He found it hilarious how you could stare someone down and somehow see into their soul and tear them apart). But he also saw how (like him) much of you is hidden behind layers of masks. Y/N Wayne the Business man. Y/N Wayne the entrepreneur. Y/N Wayne the brother, the leader, the CEO, the uncle, the eldest Wayne. And then there was Y/N Wayne the true person underneath it all. The guy who hates pointless arguments but will get annoyingly passionate about nothing. The guy who loves his family more than anything in the world, who had to rebuild himself after his parent’s murder and who had to be an example for his traumatized younger brother. Sometimes you felt like you had to bear the burden of all of these roles all the time and Clark made sure you knew you didn’t have to be anything when you were with him. Just be yourself.
“I think you’d like this view. It’s about as serene and calm as gotham gets and it is so beautiful” You said and Clark smiled. It wasn’t often you let yourself be so emotionally open and sentimental.
“Well, I’m looking out at the sunset here too. I’ll take you up here some time, it’s romantic”
Wayne bro!Reader masterpost (gonna make this later when I have time)
Word count: 4.5k
Summery: Clark is off world and you get a call from Dick that Bruce took in another kid, except this one is actually his. With no other option you take Jon and go see what new kind of craziness has made it's way into your already weird life.
Your life was weird. Actually it was crazy and you learned to accept that. Your husband was the sole survivor of his alien planet, your son was half human half Kryptonian, your brother was the Batman of Gotham and your nephews were Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin respectively. You became used to this.
Your husband’s occasional extended trips to space became something you expected to happen once in a while and you learned how to deal with your son’s superpowers. You grew accustomed to it so when your husband told you that he was going on a League mission in space you told him to be careful and to keep the watchtower (the floating space station base for the Justice League that your company pays for) informed and to come home safe. Your son Jon hugs him and tells him to bring home something cool. After seven years of marriage and nine years of dating you became accustomed to your strange family and loved them not despite it but including all of the weird.
You were sitting in your office in the Wayne Tower in Metropolis when you got a phone call from your eldest Nephew. The 23 year old lived in the nearby city of Bludhaven and called you every so often so you thought nothing of it as you picked up the phone.
“Hey Dickie” You say as you answer and continue to scroll through the document on your computer.
“Hey Y/N, do you have a second to talk?” He asked and you chuckled.
“Wouldn’t have picked up the phone if I didn’t” You answered and you heard Dick click his tongue.
“I have some news” He said and you stopped looking over the long document you were scrolling through to give him your full attention.
“That doesn’t sound like good news” You said and he laughed uncomfortably.
“Well Bruce didn’t wanna call you yet which I think is dumb but-” You cut him off.
“Did he take in another kid?” You asked and you figured you were right on the money with Dick’s reaction.
“Sort of, this one’s um… Well this one’s actually his” He explained. Your brother had developed a knack for taking in young kids who needed a home and you loved him but it was a bit of a joke at this point. With three boys and a daughter it was fair game to joke about.
“What do you mean this one is his?” You asked and Dick sighed.
“Could you come by the manor? It’ll make sense if you see it for yourself” He said and you sighed. This was going to be a long day.
“Alright- wait no shit. Clark’s off world, I don’t have anyone to watch Jon on such short notice” You said and Dick hummed as he thought.
“You could bring him here-” He tried to say and you cut him off… Again.
“No. He doesn’t know about you guys yet and I don’t want him in the middle of this” You said and Dick sighed.
“I mean, it has to happen eventually” Dick tried to say but you were having none of it.
“No.” You said and you could hear noise coming from Dick’s end of the line.
“What’s that noise?” You asked. You could hear yelling and shuffling and then quiet.
“Dick?... Hello? Can you hear me?” You asked to no avail.
“Master Y/N, I am afraid Master Dick is a bit preoccupied at the moment” Alfred’s voice came on and you sighed, pinching the bridge of your noise.
“Alfred, can you prepare mine and Jon’s rooms? We’re coming over” You said and the butler hummed.
“Of course, when should we expect you?” He asked and you began to shuffle around your office, putting things away.
“I’m heading out of the office now, Jon finishes school in an hour and then we’ll be another hour if traffic is on our side so we’ll be at the manor in two maybe three hours?” You said and Alfred hummed.
“Very good” He said and you bid him goodbye and hung up.
“Hey Anna, A family emergency came up and I have to go to gotham. Could you reorganize my schedule to fit?” You asked and your assistant nodded.
“Of course Mr. Wayne, is everything okay?” She asked and you nodded.
“Yeah, something came up with Bruce and the boys, you know how it is- Oh and can you please call Jon’s school and tell them he won’t be able to make it to student council today. Clark’s on assignment so I’m taking Jon with me” You explained and Anna nodded.
“Of course, have a good day Mr. Wayne!” She said as you left and you waved a goodbye over your shoulder. This was going to be a long day.
You got home and after some light prepping you picked Jon up and started your drive to Gotham.
“Dad, what’s up? You look worried” Jon said from the back seat. The boy sat on his Batman booster seat and held his nintendo.
“I’m fine sweetie. Don’t worry about me, how was school?” You asked him and glanced at him through the rearview mirror.
“School was fun, I got a 70 on my spelling test and we were supposed to plan games for the sock hop today during the student council meeting but…” He trailed off.
“Hey dad, why are we going to uncle Bruce’s today?” Jon asked and you smiled at him reassuringly.
“Uncle Bruce needed my help with a work thing and asked me to stop by. And don’t you like hanging out with your cousins?” You asked and Jon nodded although not very enthusiastically.
“I mean I guess, they’re all grown ups though” He complained and you chuckled.
“Well since they’re grown ups maybe they can take you out to ice cream while I help uncle Bruce?” You suggested and Jon looked at you hopefully.
“Can they?!” He asked and you laughed.
“You’re gonna have to ask them that” You told your son and he practically jumped in his seat.
Beyond that the ride was quiet, Jon played on his nintendo and as you saw Wayne manor approaching you noticed he was asleep. You smiled. He fell asleep easily while driving.
You parked in the driveway and were met by Alfred.
“I’m glad to see you again Master Y/N” He said and you hugged him.
“Same to you Alfred, could you take my bag in? Jon’s asleep and I don’t wanna wake him” You said and the family butler smiled as you carefully picked your son up in your arms and walked into the house.
It was quieter than you heard on the phone and you lightly placed Jon on a couch in the first living room you passed. Still asleep, though you were sure that wouldn’t last long.
Something that was confirmed when the little boy shot into the air suddenly awake.
“Wha- what’s going on? Where are we running?” He asked confused and you came up to him, lightly guiding him back to the couch.
“Everything’s fine Jon, we’re not running anywhere” You told your son as he took in his surroundings.
“I heard running- did we get to Gotham?” He asks as he looks around and you kiss the top of his head.
“You fell asleep in the car, we just got here” You explained. That happened occasionally. Jon’s super hearing was still developing and he would constantly wake up from naps or in the middle of the night because he heard something a couple blocks away. That’s why you and Clark decided to move into a house in the suburbs. It was less convenient for all of you (even Jon, seeing as his school was in the city) but it was less noisy and generally calmer.
Soon though you realized what running your son was referring to when the three very frustrated men came practically stomping in. Dick, Jason and Tim all looked done with life as they all slumped into different spots on the multiple couches and chairs in the living room. A chorus of “Hey Y/N, hey Jon” and “Finally you made it” (From a very tired Jason) flew through the room as you looked at your nephews.
Jon rubbed his eyes and walked over to hug Jason (AKA his favorite cousin).
“Can we get ice cream?” He asked and you shook your head, holding back a laugh. As disoriented as he was he remembered the ice cream.
Jason looked at you and smiled widely when you nodded.
“Sure thing bud, we got the dad seal of approval so let’s go” Jason said and suddenly he and Jon were filled with newfound energy and excitement. They both walked off and you turned your attention to Dick and Tim.
“So that’s why Jay’s here” Dick said and you nodded.
“Babysitting duty, at this point I’m kind of jealous” Tim muttered into a throw pillow and you sighed.
“Alright, now that I’m here can someone actually explain what’s going on?” You asked and Dick nodded.
“So um, Talia contacted bruce a few days ago and told him to meet her at the docks then something happened and he came back with a kid in hand-” Dick explained and Tim cut him off.
“A very violent and generally rude kid” The teen supplied and you sighed.
“And how do we know that he’s Bruce’s? We can’t exactly take Talia Al Ghul’s word for it” You said and they nodded.
“You don’t have to, see for yourself” Tim said in annoyance and Dick huffed.
“We have DNA confirmation too” Dick added and you nodded, standing up.
“I’m guessing they’re in the cave” You said and when both boys agreed you gestured for them to go.
“Lead the way then” and they did.
You hated being in the batcave and you avoid it at all costs but you always seemed to forget just how impressive it is. You followed Dick and Tim to where Bruce sat at his annoyingly oversized computer.
“I thought you hated being in here” Is all he said once you were in earshot and you scoffed.
“Hello Bruce, it’s nice to see you too. Missed your calls this week so this is the first time we’re talking about something none business related all week but that’s fine- a perfectly polite way to greet your older brother” You grumbled and Tim and Dick snickered.
“Well I wasn’t the one who called you over here for a “family emergency”” Bruce said and glared at Dick who raised his hands in surrender.
“Sorry but if you weren’t gonna tell him I was” Dick defended though it only seemed to annoy Bruce more.
“Is it true?” You asked, getting back onto the topic at hand.
“Yes” Bruce said and you pinched the bridge of your nose.
“How many times does Alfred have to give you that talk for it to mean something Bruce-” You muttered and Bruce interrupted.
“Will you stop. I didn’t know he existed until Talia told me and basically left him here. Besides this really isn’t any of your business” Bruce said and you sighed.
“Every time Bruce, when will you understand that your life is my business because we’re family. Now where is this nephew of mine?” You asked, changing the subject and Dick pointed to a corner of the cave where a young boy was swinging a sword.
“He got mad we wouldn’t allow him to cut up the bushes in the garden so he moved here” Dick informed and you slowly walked up to the boy. He was small and beside the green eyes and darker skin he looked just like Bruce. You smiled sadly at the sight before Bruce cleared his throat.
“Damian, come here please” He said and the boy finally stopped swinging his sword.
“What?” He asked and you could hear the sharpness of his tone. He had a temper.
“Damian, this is-” Bruce began to introduce you but Damian interrupted.
“Y/N Wayne, my uncle. I know.” Damian said and you examined the young boy. He looked 10 maybe 11 years old so only a few years older than your own son Jon. His posture was practically perfect, he stood confidently and met your gaze.
“You are also shorter than I expected” Damian said, maintaining eye contact with you and your eye twitched.
“Well he’s definitely yours” You said and Dick burst out laughing. Tim was at least able to hold back his own laughter, unlike his brother. Bruce massaged his temples.
“Why are you like this?” He asked and you still looked at the young boy.
“Why are you here uncle? It was my understanding that you live in Metropolis and lived under the radar.” Damian asked and you looked at him questioningly.
“Am I not allowed to meet my nephew?” You asked. The uncle-nephew terms have never been thrown around this early after meeting. To this day only Jason called you uncle Y/N and you didn’t mind it so this was new.
“I was under the impression you did not concern yourself with Batman” He said and you nodded.
“But you aren’t just Batman’s son are you? You’re also Bruce Waynes” You said, matching his slightly condescending tone.
“I am Damian Wayne Al-Ghul. Grandson of the Demon and Son of the Batman. I will be his successor as I was trained to be from birth” He declared and you looked at him as if he just told a joke.
“Are you? Well you’ve got your work cut out for you Bruce, let me know if you need parenting advice” You told your brother, patting his shoulder as you turned to leave. You were surprised to see Damian stand in front of you, his sword pointing at your neck.
“Are you questioning my legitimacy? I am Batman’s true son! His blood son!” He exclaimed, rage was filling him and you felt Brace pull you behind him as Tim and Dick moved Damian’s sword away from you.
“Damian!” They all yelled but the young boy continued.
“Perhaps mother was wrong and will get in my way, although I doubt you could do anything. You are only an untrained civilian, I could easily take you out.” Damian continued and Tim was holding him back.
“That’s enough. Go to your room Damian.” Bruce said, his voice low and final. The boy looked offended but stormed off towards the exit.
All three boys turned to see if were okay and you nodded, taking a deep breath.
“Never been held at sword point by a child but I’ll be fine” You said and looked at Bruce.
“What happened to him that he’s like that?” You asked and Bruce looked away, you noticed a hint of shame as he spoke.
“He was raised by his mother within the League of Assassins until now” He explained and Dick chimed in.
“Hence the violence” He added and Tim elbowed him in the ribs.
“You looked at where Damian disappeared to and sighed.
“Poor kid” you said and Bruce cleared his throat.
“Are you staying the night?” He asked and you shook your head.
“I don’t know. I have to talk to Clark, see if we can figure out how we want to explain this” You explain and Bruce nods.
“Where is Jon? Alfred said you were coming with him” Bruce asks and you nod.
“I called Jay and asked him to babysit, they’re off getting ice cream right now” you answered and Bruce nodded.
You called Jason and asked him to keep Jon out of the manor for a bit longer, he didn't have an issue. Jason didn’t particularly like being in the manor anyways so being out and about with his favorite (and only) cousin? Sounds fun.
You sat on the bed you and Clark share whenever you come to the manor and waited for the static on the small device in your hand to become a clear image. It took a few minutes but the device projected a small video feed of Clark.
“Hey honey, what’s going on?” He asked, you had asked his coworkers in the watchtower to help you reach him even if he was in a different star system.
“Bruce has another kid, this one’s actually his. He was raised by assassins and he’s about Jon’s age.” You explained and Clark looked a bit confused.
“Jon’s out with Jason right now and I don’t know what to do” You confessed and Clark smiled sympathetically.
“Maybe it’s time he knows? He can keep it a secret and it’s not like he can just not interact with this new cousin- which I have a lot of questions about but those can wait till I get back” Clark said and you smiled, you missed him. Even if he was only gone a few days.
“I wish he didn’t have to. I really wanted to keep him away from Batman” You said and Clark smiled.
“I know but I think he’s ready. Besides, think how excited he’ll be when he sees he finally has a cousin his age?” Clark said and you chuckled.
“I miss you” You said and he smiled. That big smile that Superman was known for.
"I know, I miss you too. And things are going on track, I’ll be home soon-” He said and static crackled before his image came back on the projection.
“Hug Jon for me, I love you, I have to go” He said and with another static he was gone.
“Please be safe love” You told the static when you heard footsteps outside the door. You carefully got up and walked to the door.
“Who’s there?” You asked as you opened the door to find Damian walking away.
“Damian?” You asked, out of all the people it could have been you didn’t even think it could be him.
“I was simply passing by.” He said and you heard something in his voice- sadness.
“Damian, is something wrong?” You asked and he glared at you.
“I do not need your pity” He spat and you sighed. This boy reminded you so much of Bruce at his age.
“It’s not pity. It’s concern” You explain and walk back into your room, leaving the door open. If he really is like Bruce he’ll walk after you into the room once he understands the door is open for him.
You sat at the edge of your bed and looked at the many pictures hanging on the walls. Pictures of your family.
Soon enough the newest addition to that family cautiously walked in. He stayed quiet and so did you until he spoke.
“You are not simply married to some reporter are you?” He asked and you shook your head.
“I wish I was but no, Clark isn’t just a reporter” You answer and Damian comes closer.
“You being married to Superman does not change your uselessness.” Damian says and you shake your head.
“Why were you listening to my conversation Damian?” You ask and the young boy becomes defensive.
“I was not listening! I could not care less how disgusting you are with the Kryptonian” He said and you looked at him.
“Damian. In this family we don’t spy on people. If we want to know something we ask and if that person doesn’t want to tell us we respect it. This was not a conversation you should have been listening to” You explain calmly and Damian scoffs.
“We are not family. You said so yourself, you do not wish for me to meet your son.” Damian said and you sighed. You hoped he didn’t overhear that part.
“Damian-” You tried to say but the boy’s emotions were getting the better of him.
“It doesn’t matter! Mother warned me that you were simply a useless civilian, a businessman. That the only obstacle you pose to me is your station as CEO of father’s company. Go ahead and take your spawn home. It is obvious you do not want me around him” He said and you thought for a second you saw betrayal in his eyes before he stormed off yet again.
Half an hour later Jason came back with Jon. You met the both of them in front of the manor and Jon ran up to tell you about how much fun he and Jason had at the ice cream place where Jason let him put as many toppings as he wanted! And then at the arcade with all of the fun games and he got to be Batman! She showed you a paper Batman mask that he won and you smiled and awed at his amazing mask.
“I hope that ice cream will not ruin your appetite Master Jon” Alfred said and Jon shook his head.
“Nope! The bumper cars made sure I was still hungry!” He announced and Alfred took the boy to wash his hands.
You looked at Jason and smiled.
“Thank you Jason, this helped a lot” You told him and he nodded.
“No problem Uncle Y/N, I’m always happy to spend time with the pipsqueak. Speaking of, how'd it go with the demon spawn?” He asked and you shook your head.
“First of all, that nickname is rude and second of all- I don’t know. I managed to get Clark on a call-” You began to explain and Jason huffed.
“From halfway across the galaxy? Now that’s A+ communication!” He joked and you rolled your eyes.
“Well he thinks it’s time. I don’t really think I have a choice so could you stay for dinner?” You asked and Jason nodded.
“I mean it’s probably better than the week old Chinese take out I have in my fridge” He joked and you lightly slapped his arm.
“That sounds disgusting, throw it out when you get home” You scolded.
Alfred came back with Jon and you knelt down to hug and kiss Jon’s head.
“Your pa says hi” You told him and Jon pouted.
“You talked to Pa? That’s not fair! I wanna say hi” He whined and you ruffle his dark hair.
“It was an emergency call, you’ll get to say hi and see what cool souvenir he brought for you when you get home” You told him as Alfred led him to the dining room.
Bruce soon came up followed by Dick and Tim.
“Did you manage to talk to Clark?” Dick asked and you nodded.
“I guess it’s time. Will Damian be joining us for dinner?” You asked and Bruce shook his head.
“He locked himself in his room” He said and you nodded.
“Okay, well after dinner I was thinking we could sit him down-” You tried to plan but Tim looked excited for once.
“Why not show him the cave? It’s cooler and the kid already loves Batman” He said and you saw a hint of a smile cross Bruce’s face.
Ever since he was a toddler Jon adored Batman, much to Clark’s dismay. He always hoped he’d be his son’s favorite superhero but no- that honor went to Bruce or more specifically Batman.
All three men looked at you and you turned back to look at your son. Jon sat down and talked to Jason and Alfred about something he was doing in school. You sighed but nodded.
“I guess it is more straightforward” You said and as Tim and Dick walked to join their cousin and brother around the table Bruce smiled.
“I was thinking when Clark gets back we can do a family picture, we need to update it” He said and you nodded.
“Sounds good” You said and you and Bruce joined the group around the table.
Dinner was good and filled with pleasant conversations (along with the occasional fight that you, Bruce or Alfred had to break up). When dinner was over you took Jon’s hand and kneeled down to be eye level with him.
“Jon, there’s something your Uncle, cousins and I want to show you. We all think you’re old enough to know and your pa agrees” You told your son and he looked at you, trying to figure out what it is you wanted to show him. You stood up but kept a hold of his hand.
“And I want you to hold onto my hand the whole time okay?” You asked and Jon nodded.
You nodded to Bruce and you all left the dining room and went to the grandfather clock in the foyer.
Bruce turned the hands and Jon watched intently. When the clock opened revealing a tunnel he awed and oohed as you two followed Bruce and the boys. Jon didn’t say anything as he looked around the batcave. He saw the glass cases of costumes and the huge computer setup, the many cars and gadgets and looked in awe at the giant dinosaur and in confusion at the giant penny.
Eventually you all congregated by the computers and Bruce sat at his chair.
“Jon, just like Pa has a secret, so does Uncle Bruce” You began to explain and Jon, in awe exclaimed.
“Uncle Bruce is Batman?!” Jon looks at you and Bruce for an answer and finds it in Bruce’s proud smile. Jon’s next question is aimed at you as if ignoring the others in the room.
“Does that mean he knows Pa’s secret?” Jon whisper yells and you nod.
“It was actually thanks to Uncle Bruce and Dick that I met your Pa” You shared and Jon stuck his tongue out.
“Ew! I don’t wanna hear that story again” He said and took off, flying around the cave.
“Wait- does that mean- Oh my gosh are you guys the Robins?” Jon questions his cousins, flying up to be at eye level with them. Tim nods.
“Yup! I’m Robin, Jason is Red Hood and Dick is Nightwing” Tim explained and Jon looked around, taking in all the new information. He flew to Jason.
"Oh my gosh does that mean you died?!" He asked, his tone was surprisingly excited.
"And came back, yup" Jason explained. He was always the best with Jon.
“Why is he here?” Damian’s voice cut through the cave like a knife and you all turned to the young boy. Jon shot back to the ground meaning he immediately stopped flying and fell on his butt.
“Who are you?!” He exclaimed and Damian scoffed.
“I’m Damian Wayne Al Ghul. Who are you and what are you doing in my father’s base of operations?” Damian asked and pointed his sword at Jon. You knew you shouldn’t be worried, Jon was invincible, a sword couldn’t hurt him but you were very worried.
“Damian. Put the sword down!” Bruce ordered and the boy reluctantly did as he was told.
“This is my son Jon. Jon, this is Damian” You introduced and Jon looked confused.
“Damian is Bruce’s youngest son” Dick explained and it then dawned on Jon what that meant.
“I have a cousin my age?” He asked and Damian scoffed.
“Please, I have no connection to you” He said and you were not pleased.
“Damian-” You began but he cut you off again.
“If you wish to apologize I do not care” He said and you sighed.
“I was wondering if you’d like to show Jon around” You asked and Jon looked between you and Damian.
“Why should I do such a thing. It is a waste of my time” He said but Jon looked at him with his pleading puppy dog eyes and inevitably you watched as your newest nephew showed your son around the batcave.
“That was unexpected” Tim said and Jason laughed.
“The kid’s basically indestructible, he’ll be fine” Jason said and you sighed.
I'm gonna start by saying that I've only recently actually begun to read the comics properly and so the Conner in this story is going to be based on Young Justice Conner though it won't be the same. I've changed things to fit this story best.
If you wanna see something specific from this au or just wanna request something my requests are open!

Confused. That's what Clark was when he got the call from Bruce. Apparently Dick and his friends Wally AKA Kid Flash and Aqualad found something of interest during a mission to CADMUS Labs. They found a clone of Superman.
"Where is it now?" Clark asked and Bruce told him the clone -who was apparently force grown to the age of 17 over only a few months- was at the League's new Watchtower till they'd decide what to do with him.
"You need to come up to the Watchtower. We're calling an emergency meeting of the League." Bruce said from the other end of the line and Clark nodded.
"I'll get there as soon as I can, I'm actually in the middle of dinner but I'll cut it short" Your husband said and with that he hung up and came back to the table you were sitting at. Because not only did this clone situation interrupt dinner, it interrupted date night dinner.
"There's an emergency at work, I have to go" He said and you sighed.
"Which work?" You asked, you were let down and you knew only one of Clark's careers would warrant putting an end to your dinner date but you liked teasing him.
"Bruce just called, Dick and his friends found something of note. They're calling an emergency meeting" He explained and flagged a waiter down, asking for the check.
"I'm sorry honey" He said and you looked at him suspiciously.
"What did they find?" You asked and a part of you wished you hadn't because two hours later you and Clark were on the Watchtower.
You looked out at the earth from the window. It was beautiful and yet terrifying. This was your first time on the Watchtower, you didn't particularly like inserting yourself into your family's heroics business and even though you funded it being in space kind of scared you. After all you weren't like Clark, if something went wrong you would die.
When you zeta'd onto the space station Bruce came up to meet you and even though you couldn't see his face through the cowl you knew he was scowling.
"Why is Y/N here?" He questioned and you rolled your eyes.
"You interrupted date night" You simply said, patted Bruce on the shoulder and walked deeper into the Watchtower.
Bruce looked at Clark and he didn't have to use his x-ray vision to know that Bruce was mad.
"You brought him to a flying space station where we have a kryptonian clone? Are you out of your mind?" Bruce questioned and Clark shook his head.
"He insisted on coming, I told him what Dick and the boys found and he deserves to be here" Clark simply stated and followed after you.
You walked through the halls of the Watchtower not quite sure where you were going. Eventually, as if by fate you found yourself outside of the medbay. You stood in front of a window and looked through.
Dick and his friend Wally sat around a boy on a cot. He had black hair and you had to admit he looked like Clark. The boy looked about Dick's age and he seemed calm. He felt comfortable around his friends.
Clark's hand reached around to your waist.
"It's a one way mirror, they can't see us" He said and laid his head on your shoulder.
"He looks so normal" You said and Clark didn't respond, he just took you in his arms and kept his head in the crook of your neck.
"I'm sorry this had to ruin dinner, it's been so long since we got some time to ourselves and I'm sorry you have to deal with this" He muttered and you pet his hair and smiled.
"I knew what I signed up for love, besides stranger things have happened to us" You said and you held his cheek in your hand so that he looked at you. You were about to give him a sweet reassuring kiss when someone cleared their throat.
You both turned to see who was there and you found Hal Jordan and Barry Allen more commonly known as Green Lantern and the Flash.
"Sorry to interrupt you love birds-" Hal said only for Barry to elbow him in the ribs.
"Everyone's here" Barry said and looked at Clark. A subtle sign that it was time to go.
"Stay with the boys, this place is big and it's easy to get lost" Clark said then kissed your cheek and left. You sighed.
"Go out with Superman they said, he's sweet they said" You grumbled as you turned back to watch the boys.
"I paid for this stupid space station... Hmm get lost, I won't get lost" You muttered and turned your attention back to the closed off room in the medbay. They boy was a clone but he looked so human. He looked like a boy, so lost and confused, your heart ached for him. He had no one.
"Are you okay Y/N?" A voice asked and you jumped slightly. Tim walked up to you, the little 13 year old in the bright colors sure knew how to sneak up on you.
"I'm fine Tim, thanks for asking" You told the boy and turned back to look at the boy in the cot.
"Where's Jon?" Tim asked, he was talkative but you were still warming up to him. It was just so soon after Jason's death, it was all too fresh what happened to your nephew when he wore that suit.
"He's with a babysitter back home. I had to ask her to stay a bit later than expected because of all this" You told Tim and you saw him nod in your peripheral vision.
"Must be hard finding someone willing to babysit a super powered baby" he joked and you sighed. You really weren't in the mood for this.
"We asked Cassie, so far she's done great. We really wouldn't be able to do much without her" You said in the same serious slightly sombre tone you maintained since Tim started the conversation.
"Right" The preteen rubbed the back of his neck.
"I know you don't really support me as Robin but I was hoping-" Tim started and you finally turned to him.
"I really don't want to talk about this right now Tim. Don't you have somewhere else to be?" You asked and even though it sounded much harsher than you intended it had to be said. You had other things to think about right now besides what you thought of Tim taking Jason's place as Robin.
"Sorry, Bruce kicked me out of the meeting, something about Justice League only. I thought I'd keep you company" He said and you sighed.
"Thank you Tim but I think I'd like to be alone. If you'll excuse me, I'm going to call Cassie" You said and walked past the boy to find a private place to see how things are going with Jon. He should be fast asleep but he's had some trouble with that lately. Soon after you left. There was no particular reason for you to stay on the Watchtower, especially since the meeting wasn't over yet.
-
A few hours later in the early morning you and Clark were at home. Clark was working on something on his laptop and you had Jon on your hip. You looked at your son and then at your husband. Clark had been off since this whole Clone discovery was made.
"So something happened when you talked to Kara" You stated and he sighed.
"Clones weren't exactly looked upon fondly on Krypton" He said and you adjusted the little bundle on your hip as he cooed.
"And this isn't Krypton Clark. We can't just leave him to his own devices" You said and he finally shut the computer.
"He'll be with the Titans, they'll help him" He said and you scowled.
"He's your clone" You told him. You two have been putting this conversation off since you got back from the Watchtower. Clark didn't want too much to do with this clone of his and it was decided that he would join the Titans and stay with them in San Francisco.
"I didn't create him, hell I didn't ask anyone to create him" Clark said. Your husband didn't get angry often, he wasn't an angry person but you heard the frustration begin to slip into his voice.
"He's still related to you Clark. Not to Kara, not to Zod, not to anyone else" You reminded him and he stood up to meet you.
"What would you have me do? Invite him to live with us? We don't know anything about him. He could be dangerous" Clark explained and you noticed Jon looking at his pa. This was probably the first time he heard Clark talk like that.
"He needs guidance Clark. Meet with him, talk to him" You explained and you tried to keep any judgment from your voice but it was difficult. You didn't want this teenager living with you, no, but he deserved a mentor of some sort.
"You sound like Bruce, besides just because he shares my DNA doesn't mean we're family. You know that." He said and you rolled your eyes.
"Clark-" You said but he cut you off.
"I don't wanna talk about this anymore, I just... I'm going to the fortress" He said and walked off.
You looked down at the baby in your arms.
"You better not react like that when you grow up" You told him and he giggled.
The way things were going you were going to have to take things into your own hands. You took your phone and called Dick.
After three rings he picked up.
"Hey Y/N, what's up?" He asked and you adjusted your hold on Jon.
"I'm okay, I'm actually calling about your clone friend" You began to explain but he cut you off.
"He goes by Conner" Dick said and you nodded.
"Okay, I'm calling about Conner. Do you think you two and honestly Wally's welcome too- do you think you could come to Metropolis for a little visit?" You asked and You could practically feel Dick's mood shift.
"Actually he- Clark made his stance on Conner very clear at the Watchtower." Dick explained in a much more serious and sombre tone and you had to sigh. if you had a free hand you would have face palmed. Of course your husband made a scene after you left.
"I'm sorry about whatever it is he said to your friend Dick but I want to meet him. Clark just left for the fortress, he's not here" You explained and you heard some quiet whispers before Dick's voice spoke.
"Okay, we'll be there soon. Your apartment?" He asked and you hummed.
"Yeah, I'll see you all soon".
Half an hour later you put Jon to sleep just in time for a knock to sound from the front door.
You opened the door and smiled at the teens. Dick, Wally and the clone or Conner were all dressed in casual civilian clothes. Dick smiled at you, Wally did too but you noticed his posture was more awkward. Meanwhile Conner was very blatant about his discomfort. He looked anywhere but you and almost hid behind Wally and Dick.
"Come on in boys, I just put Jon to sleep so just keep your voices down okay?" You said as you stepped aside and gestured for the boys to come in. Dick strode in confidently, he's been here plenty of times before, it was like his third home (after the manor and Titans Tower). Wally and Conner awkwardly followed after him and they all sat down in the living room.
"Would you like anything to drink? Tea maybe?" You asked and Dick shook his head.
"No thanks Y/N" He said and you looked at Wally.
"Wally? I know you speedsters need to eat a lot", do you want something?" You asked and he sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck.
"I mean, if you're offering, yes please" He said and you smiled. getting some snacks for him and the others before sitting down on the opposite sofa.
"I actually asked you all here because I wanted to meet you Conner" You said, turning to face your husband's clone.
"I'm not sure if you know me-" You began but he cut you off.
"I know who you are, yeah, your superman's spouse" He said though he still didn't look at you. In fact he looked ready for you to yell at him about how much you despised him.
"I wanted to apologize for whatever it is that Clark said. He can be sensitive about biological connections like this. I wanted to meet you because I know this must be hard for you and I wanted you to know that we're here for you" You explained and Conner scoffed, finally looking at you.
"That wasn't the impression Superman gave me yesterday" He said and you nodded.
"I'm sorry about that. This is a lot for him just like it must be for you. But that doesn't justify whatever it is he said" You told him and you took a deep breath.
"It will probably take him some time to come around. He's not sure how to respond in this situation but I've been through it before with Dick and then Jason and Tim to some extent. He-" You found yourself looking at a photo from one of your visits to the Kent Farm.
"Kal has always been an outsider. He grew up in the middle of nowhere and was the only being like him on earth. He was sure he was the only one in the galaxy any more" You explained and Conner looked at you and nodded, calming down a bit.
"Because Krypton blew up" He supplied and you nodded.
"Then when he was a young adult and he found out about everything, how he wasn't human, the destruction of his planet- It's a lot for anyone. Then Kara- his cousin arrived on earth after years lost in space and he finally had someone who he was truly related to, someone who understood his struggles-" You continued but he cut you off.
"And then I showed up and Kryptonians don't like clones" He said with anger and you shook your head.
"He has to process this too. And it's going to hurt a lot more before it gets better but even if he isn't, I am here for you. No one should be alone" You told him and you noticed a small nod even as he looked away.
"Thanks" He said and shifted in his seat.
Just then, as you sat in the somewhat comfortable silence a loud cry rocked the apartment and you held your head and rubbed your temples. You already felt a headache coming on.
"Jon must have woken up" You explained and went to check on your baby. Conner and Wally looked at Dick and the boy shrugged.
"Babies are weird" He simply said and you came back, rocking an eight month old baby in your arms.
Dick immediately brightened when he saw his cousin. You smiled at him.
"Wanna take him?" You asked and he nodded, carefully taking the little bundle in the batman onesie into his arms and cooing.
"Batman? Supes must hate that" Wally joked and you chuckled.
"A bit of a pissing match between him and the Bat" You explained and he laughed. You noticed Conner looking curiously at your son and you realized, this might be the first baby that he's ever seen.
"Do you want to hold him?" You asked, sitting down next to Conner. He looked at you hopeful but worried.
"I don't want to break it" He said and you laughed.
"Jon's half kryptonian, he's durable as far as babies go" You joked and Dick (having gotten the message) passed Jon to Conner. You carefully showed him how to hold the baby and you smiled as Conner looked down at Jon curiously. The fact that they were about the same age seemed to conflict with reality but your son was eight months old and Conner was also force grown in only a few months. Neither were even a year old yet. You managed to sneak a photo of the scene Before you heard the rustling wind of Clark coming home. You leant over and took Jon carefully.
"I think he likes you" You told Conner and you noticed a tiny smile on the boy's face.
"You two could be friends, I mean you're basically the same age" Wally joked and Conner looked at you for confirmation.
"I mean, basically" You laughed but straightened slightly when you heard the door open.
"Y/N?" Clark asked and you looked at Dick. He was more than a little worried.
"I'm in the living room! And we have guests" You called in the direction of the front door and the only sound came from Clark's footsteps and Jon's occasional babbling.
"Who's here?" Clark asked but the sight in front of him answered it for him.
"Clark, these are Wally West and Conner" You introduced, and Clark looked at you.
"What are they doing here?" He asked, you could tell the difference in his tone but you had to call Ma Kent later and thank her for instilling manners in her son. You knew those were the only things keeping him as calm as he was.
"I invited them over to talk" You explained but Conner took matters into his own hands.
"But we can tell when we're not wanted" He said and got up, walking off. He was quickly followed by Wally and Dick came to give you a hug and whisper a "good luck" before leaving with his friends.
"You invited him over?" Clark asked and you nodded.
"And he's a lovely boy. He just needs someone to be there for him Clark. I thought if it isn't you it'll be me" You explained.
"So you put yourself and Jon in danger? you didn't know what he would do? We don't know anything about him" Clark retorted and you put Jon in a play pen by the TV before going up to your husband.
"Clark, I have met many people under many suspicious situations. Three orphans have come through my family home. I've watched from the side while you and Bruce go about your crime fighting and for years I did my best not to intervene or judge but I have always put my foot down when it comes to children. Conner is a child. He is Jon's age, force grown in a lab for who knows what purpose. He has no one. You might not know how that feels because you always had your parents who supported you but that night when my parents died in that alley and I felt completely alone because the two people I could rely on were dead. All I wanted that night was someone who would watch over me so don't pretend this is about anything but your own internal crisis about being cloned because I know that if Conner wasn't a clone you'd agree with me." You told him coldly and stuck your finger into his chest accusingly.
"And I know I married a man more empathetic than this so start working through your hangups like an adult so we can stop fighting about this" You told him and walked into the kitchen to make food for Jon. This was and will stay one of the biggest fights you've had with Clark and it'll take a long time for him to accept Conner but he will.
-
Conner AKA Superboy stayed with Clark's parents at the Kent farm for a bit and quickly became part of the family. Legally he was Conner Kent, Clark's younger brother. When you moved to a house on the outskirts of Metropolis he had a bedroom in your house and he appeared in many photos in the many albums you kept. It in fact did take a while but Clark did come around.
A Sense Of Normalcy Pt. 2 (Clark Kent x Wayne Male!Reader)
Part 2! Make sure you read Part 1 first cause otherwise you will have no clue what's going on.
Word count: Like 6-7k (ish) it's about the same length as part 1
Summery: Clark Kent was many things, a superhero, a reporter and also your very loving boyfriend. Not that your relationship hasn't caused strife with your brother (and Clark's friend) Bruce.
Warning: Like a tiny mention of homophobia, mention of weed and a lot of family drama and fluff.
It was around the six month mark of your relationship with Clark that you asked him to accompany you to a gala. You’ve kept your relationship mostly private until then and seeing as the media was more interested in Bruce’s dating life than yours it was fairly simple. But you thought six months was the time. Besides, you'd decided to do it in the most understated way possible. The two of you would go to the gala together and if asked (and you knew they’d ask), you would introduce Clark as your boyfriend.
So now with nervousness bubbling in Clark’s stomach he let you tie his bow tie.
“Are you sure about this? Because I’m fine with being introduced as your friend. I’ll hold back on the PDA” Clark said and you raised a brow.
“It’s time Clark. Besides, if we keep it understated we won’t have to answer too many questions with the press” You tried to tell him but he looked down at you and said, “Honey, I work at a newspaper. They are the press and they are going to ask questions” He said and you sighed. You wrapped your arms around Clark’s muscular stature.
“If you don’t want to do it that much, we don’t have to” You finally relented and Clark wrapped his hands around your waist.
“Y/N, I don’t- I’m just nervous. I’m not used to all this, dressing up and talking with a lot of people about nothing” He confessed and you looked into his ocean blue eyes. You adored this man so much sometimes.
“I’ll be with you every second of this gala and if we need an escape there’s a button on my watch that triggers my phone to ring” You said, placing a light kiss to Clark’s lips. It was a short chaste kiss but it meant everything to him. You were on his side. You were willing to do anything to help him feel at ease.
“Besides, if you really don’t want to talk you can always be my arm candy” You teased and Clark scoffed.
“I am an exemplary journalist and superhero, I would never be caught dead being some business man’s silent dumb hunk, no matter how handsome said business man is” Clark retorted and leaned down to give you a passionate and loving kiss, only parting when he heard a loud “Yuck!” come from the doorway. You both turned your heads, still holding each other close. Dick stood in the doorway in an adorable little suit and blue converse that matched his blue bow tie. He was an adorable little kid except for the face of pure disgust he made when he saw the two of you kissing.
“Get a room!” The young ten year old said and you laughed dryly.
“We did. You came into it” You told your nephew who was quick to change the subject.
“Bruce said he’ll meet us there so I’m going with you two!” He said excitedly and you smiled as he dragged Clark off in the direction of the front door.
When you and Clark left the car with Dick in toe you confidently walked inside the venue. Your hand held onto Clark’s as you confidently walked passed paparazzi and gossip and celebrity reporters.
Once you made it inside the museum in which the event took place your hand moved from Clark’s hand to his waist.
“See, that wasn’t so bad” You said lightly and Clark rolled his eyes.
“Somehow I doubt that was the hard part” He retorted and you chuckled.
“You’ve got this” You told him in a private whisper and passed him a glass of champagne.
“Are you trying to get me drunk?” He teased and you lightly hit him on the shoulder, laughing. You were so focused on Clark that you didn’t notice a man had come up to you.
“Mr. Wayne, I’m so happy you could make it” He said and you shook the hand he extended to you.
“It’s always a pleasure to see you Mr. Linken '' You replied, your other arm still around Clark’s waist.
“Clark, this is Anthony Linken. He leads Wayne Tech’s bioengineering branch” You said and then turned to Anthony.
“Mr. Linken, this is my partner Clark Kent” You said and Clark extended his hand for Anthony to shake.
“It’s nice to meet you Mr. Linken” Clark said though he felt the man’s discomfort with the handshake.
“Indeed.” Linken said, trying to cover up the coldness in his voice with a smile.
“Would this mean your brother won’t be joining us tonight?” Linken asked and you smiled. Clark could tell this was your fake corporate smile. You didn’t like Linken and neither did he.
“Bruce is a bit busy and will be late unfortunately. That’s why Richard came with us” You told Linken and began to walk away with Clark in toe.
“Speaking of, we’re going to go make sure he’s not getting into trouble” You told Anthony over your shoulder.
You led Clark to the other side of the museum.
“Was that homophobic or…” Clark asked trailing off.
“Maybe, it definitely wouldn’t surprise me. Don’t mind him though. He’s one bad apple in a mostly decent tree” You told Clark.
“I’m not sure that’s the saying honey” He replied, you both laughed and you jumped slightly when out of nowhere Bruce appeared next to you.
“Holy shit Bruce, you scared the daylights out of me” You said and for the first time that night your arm left Clark’s waist. You hugged your brother and noticed Dick standing impatiently beside his adopted father.
“Y/N can we go get juice?” The little boy asked and you looked to Clark. There was a silent question in your eyes, “Can I go?”. You weren’t really asking permission but making sure he was okay being left alone. When he nodded and smiled you took Dick’s hand to go find him some juice even if you knew something was up.
When you were out of earshot Bruce turned to Clark.
“If you’re gonna give me the shovel talk then I already know.” Clark said trying to stay lighthearted but it was difficult when Bruce stood beside him brooding.
“I don’t like it. I don’t like the idea of you and my brother, but Y’N’s made it perfectly clear that he doesn’t care” Bruce said and Clark nodded. His own mood shifted to a much more serious one.
“You’re smart Clark. You know that if you hurt him I will end you, I don’t need to tell you.” Bruce continued and Clark nodded.
“But I will anyway. I’ve caused him a lot of pain but I won’t let anyone else do the same. That means that you have to be careful because if he loses you, that will break him.” Bruce said and Clark looked at him, slightly stunned. This was one of the most emotional conversations he’s ever had with Bruce.
“Bruce-” He tried to say but your brother cut him off.
“Promise me that you’ll keep yourself safe.” Bruce insisted and Clark nodded.
“I promise” He said.
“Good.” Was all Bruce replied.
“Bruce. Thank you.” Clark said and Bruce stared at him. Clark couldn’t tell but Bruce was confused. The last thing he expected was for the reporter to thank him.
“You mean the world to Y/N and he’s told me about some of the fights you two have had about this. I worried that I was doing more harm than good by being with Y/N and I’m really thankful that you’re coming around” Clark elaborated and Bruce scoffed.
“Don’t push it Kent” The younger Wayne brother said but there was a lighthearted teasing mood to his comment and Clark laughed, raising his hands in a surrender motion.
“Whatever you say”
-
Eight months into your relationship with Clark you decided to surprise him. On a random Tuesday you walked into the daily planet in Metropolis with a beautiful bouquet of flowers in hand.
The secretary at the front desk told you where Clark’s desk was, you took the elevator and once you got to his floor you immediately saw him. He was tall and you saw him by his desk, talking to a woman and a kid, neither of which you recognized. As you walked out of the elevator and towards him, Clark noticed the flowers and more importantly you. He smiled and excused himself from who you assumed were his coworkers.
“What are you doing here?” He asked you once you were within ear shot.
“Surprise!” You exclaimed, giving him the flowers and a kiss.
“When did you get here?” He asked and you looked at your watch.
“I landed about two hours ago, got the flowers and came here” You said knowing full well Clark was questioning what you were doing in Metropolis.
“So Clark, are you going to introduce us to your mystery man or should I tell Ma Kent you lost your manners?” The woman Clark talked to earlier asked and you reached out your hand.
“I’m Y/N Wayne, it’s a pleasure to meet you Ms. Lane” You said and the woman -whom you recognized as the journalist Louis Lane- shook your hand.
“Does my reputation precede me or has Smallville talked about me?” She asked, shaking your hand and you muffled a laugh.
“I’d say a bit of both” You said and turned your eyes to the red haired teenager beside her.
“Y/N, these are Louis Lane and Jimmy Olsen” He finally introduced and you smiled.
“And this is my boyfriend Y/N Wayne.” Clark said, introducing you. Jimmy’s face brightened a bit.
“Wayne as in Bruce Wayne? The billionaire?” He asked and you chuckled.
“That would be my younger brother, yes” You told Jimmy and he said something about cool and photographing the new Wayne tower but you weren’t paying too much attention as Clark led you past his coworkers and to his desk.
“You flew here just to surprise me?” He asked, putting the flowers down on his desk.
“Well, mostly. I have a few meetings here in the next few days for the opening of the new Wayne Tower so I came early, maybe we could spend some time together until then? It’s been a while since we’ve gone out in Metropolis” You mused. Clark smiled.
“Of course, where are you staying? I’ll come by after work and we can go to that new sushi place I told you about” He suggested and you smiled sheepishly, leaning on his desk.
“I was actually thinking maybe I could stay with you? I have a hotel room but-” Clark didn’t even wait for you to finish your sentence.
“Of course you can!” He said excitedly and you smiled bashfully.
“I um, I have to get back to work but send me the name of your hotel. I’ll pick you up, we’ll go to dinner then to my place” He said and you kissed his cheek.
“Sounds like a plan” You said and he told you a bit about his day so far as he escorted you back to the elevator.
Once the metal door closed, he turned around to go back to his desk only to be met with Louis smirking confidently.
“You know when you told me you were going out with Y/N Wayne I had no idea what you’d see in what was probably a stuck up rich business man but I see it now. He’s a catch Smallville” She teased and Clark pushed his glasses up and blushed a bit at those words.
“Yeah, he really is”
-
After almost two years of dating Clark you made plans to move in together. (Plans that Bruce hated)
Metropolis and Gotham were a drivable distance apart and any work you could do from Metropolis you’d do in the (not so) new Wayne Tower.
Bruce really didn't like this plan though. It made sense but Dick had moved to San Francisco to lead the Teen Titans and you moving to Metropolis meant he’d be alone in the manor.
Alfred was helping you pack your things before the moving company you hired to take them to yours and Clark’s new apartment arrived. You were finishing packing up your closet when Bruce came in.
“Need some help?” He asked and you shrugged.
“If you want to, you can grab a box and start putting all the books from the shelves in” You told him while taping up the last box of clothes. He did exactly that and when you came with another box to pack up a different shelf that you noticed something was wrong.
Alfred had gone to start packing up your office and you and turned to Bruce.
“What’s wrong copycat?” You asked. You had stopped packing, instead giving your brother your full attention.
“Nothing’s wrong” He answered and you sighed.
“Something’s wrong. You only look like that when something is wrong” You said and tried to focus on the books he was stacking in the box.
“I don’t look like anything. Everything is fine, I just thought you might want some help packing” He said and you rolled your eyes and continued to put your large reading collection into moving boxes.
“You know I’ll only be a call away, even if I don’t live here anymore. And I’ll still be in Gotham fairly often” You said as you taped up the box and Bruce didn’t look at you.
“I know that. We’ve gone over everything already Y/N” He said and you leaned on the now closed box.
“Then why do you look like there’s still something you wanna say? I grew up with you, remember? I know you better than anyone” You said softly. It was the same voice you used to calm Bruce down from the nightmares he had as a child.
“It’s stupid. I’m a grown man” He mumbled and you smiled.
“Bruce, it’s okay to feel lonely now that I’m moving out” You told him. You put your hand on his shoulder as if to remind him that he can open up. He’s allowed to feel emotions.
“You know I hated living here when you left. I had Alfred close off some of the manor so that it wouldn’t feel so big. I hated walking past the portrait of the family in the foyer. I felt alone. Even with Alfred here. And with Dick going to California you’re allowed to feel that too” You told him and you could see Bruce struggling to stay stoic. You embraced him in a hug.
“You can let yourself feel these things Bruce. You’re still only human” You tell him in the soft voice you did when you two were kids and you feel him break. He chokes back a sob and cries into your shoulder and you just hold him. You held him the same way you did as kids when he snuck into your room after a nightmare. No matter how old the two of you get you;d always be his older brother. You’d always protect him.
After you moved out Bruce told you he took in another orphan boy. His name was Jason and you burst out laughing when he told you how Jason tried to steal the batmobiles tires. Jason was older than Dick was when Bruce took him in. He was already a pre teen and he had all the emotional range of one. He had some anger issues but Bruce told you they were working on it.
You knew he was training Jason to become the new Robin. This time you said nothing. Even if you didn’t particularly like to hear about Batman you finally accepted it as part of your brother’s life. It took almost a decade but it happened.
Funnily enough you met Jason when Bruce brought him to Metropolis while visiting you. It was your birthday and you and Clark invited your family over to celebrate. Dick came a few days earlier and stayed with you and Clark in a guest room (since he flew across the country) while Bruce drove Jason with him from Gotham.
You sat in the living room catching up with Dick when there was a knock at the door. Before you could get up to get it Clark was already at the door. “Don’t worry, I got it” He called over his shoulder as he welcomed the visitors.
“I swear if it were possible I’d think he’s on a sugar high” You told Dick and the two of you laughed.
You expected Clark to come in with Bruce but instead you saw him with the boy who you recognized from photos was Jason. He was a short boy with a lot of attitude but now he was eagerly looking around your apartment and at your boyfriend. You then noticed Bruce trailing behind the two with a gift bag in hand. You got up to meet him with a hug.
“Thanks for coming” You told him once you released him from your grip and he presented you with the bag and a tiny smile.
“Happy birthday Y/N” He said and you smiled, taking the bag and placing it on a cabinet.
“If everyone’s here we can sit down and eat” You told everyone and Dick took that as his que to move to the dining table.
Not two years later you would get a call from Bruce telling you that the energetic spunky kid who called you uncle Y/N had died. He was only 15 and had been killed by the Joker.
You sobbed into Clark’s shoulder that night, crying yourself to sleep.
It had been the first death in the family since your parents and you were heartbroken. You took a break from work and moved back into the manor for a short time. Bruce practically forced you back home after a week. All he could think of was what you told him when Dick became Robin.
“If this was another grown adult I wouldn’t be here Bruce but he’s eight. I don’t give a rat’s ass about Batman, I care about the vulnerable kid you’re choosing to bring into it and I swear if something happens to him because of your stupidity I will bring your entire operation down and I will personally drag Batman through the mud.”
Even though you told him that Jason’s death wasn’t his fault. He told him not to go alone. He did what he could to keep Jason safe. Bruce knew he was putting the life of anyone who worked with him in danger. You didn’t even need to act on your threat. After Jason’s death Batman became reckless and angry. He was dragging his own image through the mud and made himself miserable in the process.
-
Five months after Jason’s death you felt like things in your life were returning to normal.
You still mourned the boy and you knew Bruce was miserable but you worked as usual and went back to living your regular life. It was on what you thought was a normal date night with Clark that you were proven wrong. The two of you had ordered your favorite take out and sat down to watch a movie and relax. You sat cuddled up on the couch, your head resting on Clark’s shoulder and his arm wrapped around your body, both in your pajamas when your boyfriend of almost three years said.
“It’s a beautiful night” And you hummed in agreement.
“I have a surprise for you. Close your eyes” He told you and you looked at him questioningly before doing as instructed. Before you could process what was going on you felt Clark pick you up and a gust of wind cool your skin. You held in a scream as you felt your feet touch the ground.
You opened your eyes to see the city of Metropolis below you. Lit up like a city that never sleeps. You turned around and saw you were on top of the Daily Planet, it’s beautiful gold globe behind you. When you turned back to Clark to ask what was going on you saw him on one knee holding a gorgeous ring.
Your eyes widened and you let out something between a laugh and a breath as you peered down at your boyfriend.
“Y/N Wayne, we have been together for just about three years. I love you with all my heart. You are kind and loving and have one of the biggest hearts I have ever encountered. I love falling asleep beside you each night and waking up beside you each morning. I love holding you in my arms and being held in yours. I love your sarcastic jokes and your cunning mind. And as I’m saying this I’m losing my words-” Clark said and as he got further along with his speech he became less and less sure of himself.
“But, I love you so much and I want to spend the rest of my life with you” He said and carefully wrapped your hands around his as he spoke. “Will you marry me?” He asked and you crashed into him with a hug, nodding.
“Yes Clark Kent, I will marry you” You whispered in his ear as you embraced and when you broke apart his lips crashed into yours for a passionate, loving kiss.
-
The first person you told about your engagement was Alfred. He was like a second father to you and you knew he would take it well. That is how you and your fiancé found yourselves sitting around the dining table with Bruce, Dick and Alfred. The ever sneaky family butler thought a family dinner was the best way to announce your engagement to your family.
“-That’s when we took the guy in and he was still trying to say that the bag wasn’t weed, it was oregano, we tested it and he was actually right! The sneaky bastard was trying to get a quick buck” Dick said, finishing a story from his new job as a police officer in Bludhaven. You looked at Clark and when he awkwardly nodded you took the lead.
“So, we actually have something to share” You announced and Bruce (who was still mad at Dick for his career choice) finally looked up from his plate.
“We’re getting married!” Clark exclaimed and Dick practically flew out of his seat to hug you.
“Congratulations!” He said and you smiled, finally pulling the ring out of your pocket.
Meanwhile Bruce was staring Clark down at the table.
“Master Bruce?” Alfred asked but Bruce didn’t move. Neither did Clark, your fiancé simply matched your brother’s gaze.
“Bruce?” Dick asked, and still nothing.
“Oh for fuck’s sake Bruce, please don’t brood during my engagement dinner!” Your voice was the only thing that broke your brother out of whatever mental battle he was having with Clark. You walked around the table and looked down at Bruce waiting for some kind of response.
“Seriously?" You questioned and got no response. "You’re impossible.” You walked out of the room and to the guest room Alfred kept for you in the manor.
After you left Alfred, Dick and Clark all glared at Bruce before Clark finally stood up.
“I can understand why you might feel- whatever you’re feeling right now towards me but for god’s sake Bruce, be excited for Y/N.” He said and walked out, following you. Bruce just watched as he left and Dick came over to him and smacked him.
“Seriously? He is the only family you have left and you can’t even pretend to be happy for him? Even with all of our crap I thought you were better than this” The young man said and he too walked off, leaving only Bruce and Alfred in the dining room.
“If you’re going to scold me, go ahead.” Bruce finally said and Alfred simply shook his head as he began cleaning up the table.
“And what help would that do master Bruce? I believe Master Dick and Mr. Kent have already said what needed to be said”
“I’m happy for him” Bruce admitted and Alfred shook his head.
“I am not the one you have to convince.”
“Alfred-” Bruce tried to argue but the butler simply put the plates he was carrying down and looked down at him.
“Y/N has given every piece of himself to this family in your absence. He gave Master Dick an uncle, Wayne Enterprise a CEO, The public a figure to see the Waynes were still in Gotham and you Master Bruce, he has given you an example. While he may not have supported everything you do he’s stayed by your side. But when he found the person with whom he wishes to spend his life you couldn’t stay by his.” Alfred said passively and took the dirty plates to the kitchen.
Bruce soon left too, he wandered the halls of his childhood home and thought. He never tried to think of what you'd done for him before. You were always there, helping him, for as long as he could remember but after what Alfred said he took the time to think.
When he disappeared for seven years to train himself, you held down the fort in Gotham, you finished your own education, took over the company and gave reasons as to why Gotham’s favorite prince had fallen off the face of the earth. When he came back you embraced him and only asked that he stay this time. When he became Batman you ignored and even despised the bat but you continued to support Bruce. When he adopted Dick you did your best to support the boy in ways Bruce couldn’t. You kept his secrets and came around to his crusade. So why couldn’t he do the same for your relationship? After all, Clark was a good man. Bruce trusted him with his life but refused to trust him with the love of his older brother? It was at that point that Bruce found the family portrait you insisted stay up in the manor. The large one in the foyer.
Bruce didn’t remember the day, he was only four or five but you were older. Martha sat on a high backed chair with Bruce on her knee and Thomas stood proudly beside her. One hand on his wife’s shoulder and the other on his eldest son’s. You were all smiling, one complete, happy family.
He had to make this right.
You and Bruce had developed a code after he came back to gotham. If one of you text each other CB you meet at the closest balcony. CB of course stands for code blue and refers to a conversation the two of you had as kids.
One day you both snuck out the window and sat on the roof while your parents were out at a gala and Bruce asked what color the air was. You were ten and after much deliberation decided that the sky was full of air and the sky was blue so logically so was air. You never told a soul. Not even Alfred knew so when Bruce texted you CB after the fight at dinner you sighed and kissed Clark's cheek.
“I’ll be back in a bit” You said and he looked confused.
“Where are you going? I thought you said we’d wait till the morning and head home then?” Your fiancé said and you nodded.
“I’m not leaving the manor, I just have to talk some sense into my baby brother” You said and you smiled before Clark could even say anything.
“It’ll be fine love, I’ll be back soon. If you need anything Alfred’s downstairs” You said and left, quickly walking to the part of the balcony closest to yours and Bruce’s rooms.
The balcony overlooked the forest around Wayne manor and by the time you got there Bruce was already waiting with two cups of tea.
You didn’t say anything, just took one of the cups and leaned on the rail.
“I’m sorry” Bruce said quietly and you smiled.
“That’s pretty open ended” You said, smirking and taking a sip of your tea. You could hear Bruce groaning.
“I’m sorry for being a jerk about your engagement. I’m happy for you. I'm just an emotionally stunted man child. That good enough for you?” He asked sarcastically and you chuckled.
“More regretting not recording that but yes.” You said and you could see Bruce fidget slightly.
“I don’t know why you reacted that way. Honestly I feel like I don’t know much about you anymore, but I want you in my life copycat so contrary to some of my behaviors I take your acceptance of my partner very seriously” You said sincerely and Bruce smiled at the old nickname.
“Clark is a good man.” Bruce said and you smiled, looking down at the band on your finger. The clear stone shining in the moonlight.
“I love him, He’s one of the most amazing men I’ve ever met and I want to spend the rest of my life with him” You said and you were sure Bruce was trying not to make a face or sarcastic comment.
“Who's taking what name?” Bruce asked and you smiled.
“We’re actually not gonna do that. Branding and stuff” You joked and you could see Bruce relax once again. A barely visible difference but one you could still recognize. At the end of the day you still knew him well enough.
“That’s progressive” He jokes along and you chuckled.
“Wait till you hear the actual wedding plans” You replied and he looked a tad scared before you broke out laughing.
“It’s not actually bad! We want something private so we’re probably gonna do it on his parents' farm. Just family and close friends, press announcement after the honeymoon, something small” You explained and Bruce nodded.
“Sounds like you” Your brother said and you rolled your eyes, turning around and leaning your back against the rail.
“You should really patch things up with Dick” You said and Bruce sighed.
“When did we switch topics?”
“Just now when I told you to stop being a child and work things out with your son” You scolded your brother and he looked down.
“Are you happy with how everything turned out?” Bruce asked and this time you looked at him confused, waiting for him to elaborate.
“Every once in a while I think about what things would be like if that night in the alley didn’t happen. If we grew up normal. Mom and dad would still be here, no Batman or Robin, I think I’d still find Dick and Jason, you wouldn’t be nearly as stressed because mom would have helped you with the company and they’d be proud of me no matter what I’d decide to do” He confessed and you smiled sadly.
“They are proud of you Bruce.” You told your brother and you thought for a second the look in his eyes was that of the broken child he was after that night in the alley.
“Are you sure-” You cut Bruce off with a tight hug.
“I’m sure copycat. Because I’m proud of you and dad always said I take after mom so I’d know” You told him.

A year after yours and Clark’s wedding you sat anxiously in your shared apartment in Metropolis and stared at your phone. Clark was currently at lunch with his best friend Louis Lane to ask the single biggest thing he’d ever asked her.
You and Clark knew you wanted children one day. You always wanted a family and so did Clark. Although you only really started discussing your options after the wedding. As two men there were really only two options for you.
That’s why you were staring at your phone waiting for it to ring, because your husband was asking his best friend if she’d be your surrogate.
When eventually your phone did light up and buzzed with an incoming call you jumped off the couch and picked up.
“How’d it go? What’d she say? Did she agree?” You bombarded Clark with questions the second you picked up and you heard a chuckle which you assumed was Louis overhearing you.
“She said yes!” Clark said, trying (and not particularly succeeding) at keeping his voice low.
At his answer you literally jumped for joy. And 11 months later you sat in a hospital room gazing down at the little bundle in your arms. Bright blue eyes looked back up at you curiously. Clark’s bright blue eyes. The little bundle with wisps of black hair on his head cooed and began to cry. You smiled and adjusted your hold on your son as you rocked him back and forth to calm him down.
“It’s okay Jon, Dada’s here, you’re safe and sound.” You whispered as Clark walked in. He came up behind you and looked down at his son in your arms.
“He’s perfect” He said and you nodded.
“He has your eyes” You told him, Jon had finally calmed down and was sucking on his thumb.
It took Jon thirty hours to come into the world, Louis was exhausted by the time his first cry filled the room and after meeting the young boy she fell asleep. You had taken Jon to another room so that she could rest.
“Bruce said he’s almost here, he had to pick Dick up on the way” Clark informed you and you smiled.
“How do you think he’ll react to the name?” You asked and Clark chuckled, caressing your baby’s cheek.
“Hopefully better than you think” He said and kissed your cheek.
“Speaking of I hear footsteps down the hall and I think this is the perfect time for me to hold our son for a bit” He joked and you carefully gave Jon to Clark as you walked out.
"You better not pass that sneakiness to our baby, Clark” You teased before shutting the door and meeting Bruce and Dick down the hall.
“I wanna see the baby!” Dick said excitedly, you’d forget he was 19 if he wasn’t so tall.
“Before that, rules. I don’t think either of you have seen a newborn up close before and I am not taking chances” You said and laid down three simple rules.
“1. No yelling. Louis -who actually birthed the baby- is sleeping in the next room over and the baby is somewhere between sleeping and awake.
2. No insults to anybody. Not to Clark, not to each other, not to anyone. If you don’t have something nice to say, don't say it. And finally,
3. You do exactly as I say. No ifs ands or buts.” When both men nod you lead them into the room where Clark is sitting by the window with Jon.
“Bruce, Dick, this is Jonathan Kent-Wayne” You tell the boys and both Bruce and Dick look down in awe at the little bundle in Clark’s arms.
“You hyphenated the names” Bruce points out and you nod.
“It’s simpler. He can choose who he wants to be when he’s older” Clark explains and Bruce looks to you and then to Clark.
“Can I hold him?” He asks and you both nod. Clark instructs Bruce on how to support the baby’s neck and you watch proudly as your baby brother holds his nephew in his arms.
You wrap your arms around Clark and lean onto his shoulder as you watch Dick coo at the baby in his adopted father’s arms.
“I don’t think he minds the name” You whisper to Clark and he lays his head on yours.
“Jonathan Kent-Wayne is going to be one special kid” Clark says and you smile.
“Just like his dads” You say.

Hello, first I must tell you that I love your stories and how you write and I'm sorry if I'm bothering you.
I am writing to you because I would like to make an order for you in the Wayne Bro reader series since it is one of my favorite series. I would like the reader to help Jon (either with his super audition or some nightmare) and also try to get Jon and Damian to get along (be it taking them to a fair or something else) I would really like to see the reader be fatherly and I thought that super sons are perfect (if you want, you can have a thief interrupt them at some point, it's your call).
That It Was (Wayne!Bro Reader)
I was thinking this over and a really nice (semi formed) plot formed so I hope this is close to what you wanted!
This is inspired by the flashback in Nightwing #89 and also the reveal of Clark and Wayne!Bro's second baby!
Word count: 4k
Summery: In an attempt to get Jon and Damian to bond you take them to have some fun, but plans change quickly once they start to fight and Jon flies off.
"Hello this is Y/N Wayne speaking" You said almost robotically as you answered the forwarded call. Your assistant Anna got a call from Gotham Academy requesting to talk to you. Unfortunately a call from Gotham Academy only meant one thing. Your nephew was in trouble.
"Hello Mr. Wayne, this is Samantha from Gotham Academy. A student of ours- Damian Wayne has been suspended and the emergency contact says to call you?" A young woman said over the phone, her voice seemed to squeak almost. She was very nervous.
"Yes, thank you for informing me. Could I speak with Damian please?" You asked the woman and she mumbled something you thought sounded like "of course" before passing the phone.
"Uncle" Damian's stone cold voice said and you sighed.
"What did you do that you were suspended not two weeks in?" You asked and you heard him scoff.
"I did not do anything. It was self defense" He simply said and you were sure you already knew what happened and yet you still asked.
"Self defense from what?" You asked.
"I was attacked. I was simply correcting one of the boys in my class on his miss use of a word and-" He began to explain but you cut him off, pinching the bridge of your nose.
"I'll ask Alfred to come pick you up and I'll be there as soon as I can" You said and you heard Damian try to argue.
"Not up for discussion young man. He'll take you back to the manor and I'll be there as soon as I can" You told him, shutting down any room for argument.
When Samantha's voice asked if you would be picking Damian up you sighed once again.
"No, I'm currently in Metropolis but I'll send someone to take him home and stay with him until I get there. Though I wanna ask, why did you call me first?" You asked. If you remembered right you should have been second or third on Damian's emergency contacts.
"Yes well Damian said that Mr- erm, his father is currently on vacation in the swiss alps?" She said and you wanted to slam your head on your desk. Bruce doesn't go on vacation. Ever. And of course Damian acted out when Bruce was off on a league mission.
"Right, of course" You said laughing.
"How very Bruce it is for him to neglect to inform me" You joked and with Samantha's awkward forced laugh you hung up.
Today was going to be a long day.
-
A few hours later you walked into the manor.
You may have been projecting more anger than was actually necessary. It was very frustrating to have to deal with this mess. Alfred came out to meet you in the foyer of the manor.
"Master Y/N, I must ask that you keep the stomping to a minimum" Alfred said and you nodded, holding your head in your hands.
"Right, sorry Alfred" You said and took a deep breath.
"Where the kid?" You asked and he calmly pointed in the direction of Damian's room.
"In his room, as you instructed I removed his television and gaming consoles" Alfred explained.
"Thank you" You said and looked down at Jon.
"Stay here and I'll be back soon" You told him, kissed the crown of his head and walked off to your next target.
You knocked on Damian's door but received no answer.
"Damian, may I come in?" You asked and heard angry grumbling.
"If you are asking then no. You may not come in" He finally said and you took a deep breath.
"Okay, then I'm not really asking now you can either open this door or I'm coming in so I hope your decent" You said through the door and you heard shuffling before it opened and Damian retreated back into his bedroom.
You walked in but stayed near the doorway.
"So you punched a kid at school today?"
"He insulted me first" Damian defended and you looked at him with a look only a parent has. A look that says "you wanna try again?"
"He was messing up pronunciations and whole words, I simply corrected him. Then he got mad and made me mad and we ended up punching each other" Damian explained before quickly adding that he in fact won. Apparently the boy's form was terrible. You rolled your eyes.
"Damian, that's not how we deal with conflict here. Not in civilian clothes at least" you told him and he huffed, crossing his arms over his chest.
"My grandfather always said-'" he began and you immediately put a stop to that line of thinking.
"Your grandfather is not a prime example. Here we don't goad people into insults or fights- and don't try to argue with me about this. I've seen you talk to Tim, I know you said something that practically begged for someone to punch you" You told him and with your hands on your hips you saw him slightly shrink away from your gaze.
"Is that it? Or do you perhaps wish to worsen my punishment?" Damian asked and you had to fight every instinct you had not to harden your glare.
"No. I'm here to tell you that Jon is waiting down stairs and even though you're grounded we're going to have some fun and you're going to socialize" you explained but Damian looked like this was 10 times worse than any punishment.
"I prefer to stay here and think about what I've done" He said and you didn't miss the sarcasm but you elected to ignore it.
"Well then it's good that I'm not asking. You need to get acclimated to regular civilian life and if school isn't helping than maybe a fair will" You explained and turned to leave.
"Be downstairs in 15 minutes" You told the boy and left, closing the door behind him.
When you got downstairs you saw Jon coloring in the living room as Alfred watched from a distance.
"I did not hear yelling so may I assume it went well?" The older Englishman asked.
"I'm not sure, I just hope helping him socialize more will help" You tell him and he smiles.
"I trust you are right" Alfred said and pointed to Jon.
"Young master Jon could be a good influence on him" He said and you nodded.
"I hope they get along properly, Jon seems to like Damian but I can't tell if it's reciprocated" You replied and soon heard small footsteps coming down the slightly creaky stairs. Damian came down with his hands stuffed in the pockets of a hoodie and he scowled.
"Jon-Jon! Can you clean up the coloring book? We're going" You told Jon and Alfred gave a nod in acknowledgement of your leaving before going back to chores.
Jon came running up, his school bag on his back and he smiled happily.
"Are we going to the fair?" He asked excitedly and you nodded as you led both boys out to the car. Unlike Bruce you opted to drive something less robable. Not because it had better security but because it didn't scream "I belong to a rich guy so I'm worth a lot!" it also attracted a lot less attention. You preferred to blend in anyways.
Jon took a seat on his booster seat and you pulled an extra seat out of the trunk.
"I don't know what Bruce's rules are but in this car anyone under the age of 10 or bellow 4"5 sits on a booster" you explain as Damian scowls.
"I refuse to sit in a booster seat. I have driven since I was five, I do not need the additional humiliation of a booster seat." He stated and you looked down at him with your hands on your hips.
"And legally you have to be in a booster seat until you reach one of the two requirements. Sit your butt down." You said and instead of continuing the line of communication you took a seat behind the wheel and turned on the ignition. Damian sat in the booster. He didn't like it but he did.
The drive itself was decently calm, Jon was constantly asking Damian questions about his life. He really wanted to get to know his cousin and Damian's rough exterior didn't seem to bother him.
"You learned how to drive when you were five?! When I was five I went to Alaska" Jon said and Damian huffed.
Unfortunately not all of Jon's questions were so easy going.
"How come you only came to live with Uncle Bruce now?" He asked and you carefully looked at the boys in the backseat.
"I was training with my mother and grandfather" Damian simply answered and Jon looked at him in awe.
"So you were training to be a superhero?! That's so cool. I wanna be a superhero like Pa but dad says I have to wait till all my powers come in" Jon shared and Damian huffed.
"I trained to be an assassin, not a superhero. I am only here because mother decided to leave me with father" Damian said and Jon looked confused.
"But Uncle bruce is awesome, why wouldn't you wanna stay with him?" he asks and Damian's scowl shifts ever so slightly.
"I don't not like it." Damian simply said and Jon turned his head in confusion.
"You don't sound happy to be there" He pointed out and Damian scoffed.
"It's none of your business" He stated and turned to look at the streets out the window.
"It kinda is, we're family" Jon says and Damian scowled once again.
"We are not family. Uncle is raising you but you are not his real child and you are not a Wayne" Damian stated and that causes you to swerve slightly. You quickly stop (as soon as it's safe) on the side of a street and turn to the stunned and horrified Jon and the scowling yet proud Damian.
"Enough! That is extremely hurtful Damian." You say and you saw tears start to accumulate in the corners of your son's eyes.
"You're wrong!" Jon yelled.
"You're wrong, cause dad is my real dad and we are family even if you're too dumb to get it and you're hurting so you're being mean! Not all of us have a mom and can be born like everyone and my dads are special and I love them and they love me!" Jon yelled and ripped his seat belt off, he opened the door and flew off and you screamed.
"Jon!" You yell as you fiddled with your seat belt and ran out of the car.
"Jon!" You called out and your heart pumped full of worry. He flew off in anger and you don't have a single clue where he could be because if there's one thing you know about your son it's that he has your temper. When he gets mad he leaves.
You stormed back into the car in a quick shift you speed back to the manor.
Damian for all his usual attitude sat quietly, looking at his feet for the rest of the ride. When you got back Alfred came to meet you to ask why you were back only 30 minutes after you left only to find you panicking and running past him. Damian slowly gets out of the car and Alfred looked at him in hopes of an answer.
"I didn't mean to" Is all he said and Alfred was now terrified for what happened since Jon wasn't with you or with Damian in the car.
You raced down to the batcave and activated an emergency beacon you remembered Bruce showed you once. Along with that you called Clark, he was in Metropolis and knew you came back to Gotham with the boys but when you told him, he froze.
"Hey, honey-" He began but you cut him off.
"He's gone Clark- Jon is gone" You told your husband, you weren't breathing right and your breaths were shallow. You were hyperventilating.
"What do you mean gone? What happened?" Clark asked and you heard shuffling on his side but it was getting fuzzy.
"I- he and Damian were in the car, they were fighting and- oh god he got so mad and we were parked on the side of a road and he flew off! He flew away crying Clark and I don't know where he is or how he is, he was crying and-" You sobbed and heard Clark say something though you weren't sure what it was and hang up.
Alfred soon entered the cave to ask what was going on, he called Bruce to tell him what happened after Damian filled him in and he too got the emergency beacon that you activated. When he got to the cave he saw you sobbing into Clark's chest as he comforted you and tried to remind you to breath. Helping you calm down helped him focus on something besides his missing son.
"Jon's missing" Clark said firmly once he saw Alfred and the butler nodded.
"I have been told. Master Tim has left school and began searching Gotham with Miss Gordon and the girls" Alfred informed before adding.
"Master Bruce has sent out an alert to the league" He said and placed a reassuring hand on your shoulder.
"We will find him" He said though this time to you. He knew why you were scared. You confided in him about your fears often since Jon expressed a wish to follow the family tradition and become a superhero.
You often spoke with him about your fear for your son. Jon was so young and had barely lived in this world that he wanted so badly to protect. His powers weren't completely in control and on multiple occasions he's accidentally broken things with his super strength or woke up terrified because he suddenly saw through his eyelids. You loved Clark but as an adult he didn't have these struggles anymore. Besides there had never been someone like Jon; half Kryptonian and half human. Clark did his best to help his son but there were differences. And now your worst fear came true and your son is all alone without control of his powers, angry and scared.
"Come on Y/N, we'll find him, if Bruce put out an all points bulletin then the entire league is looking for him. We'll find him" Clark said and continued to hold you in his arms. Your husband was always your anchor, your beacon of hope.
Of course that's when Dick raced in on a motorcycle and jumped off, running towards you.
"I got the alert- what happened?" He asked as he looked between Alfred and his uncles.
Clark wiped the now mostly dried tears on your cheeks as you focused on taking deep breaths.
He gave Dick a look -a pleading one- and Dick nodded, immediately understanding. Your nephew came up to you and hugged you, leading you out of the cave while offering you tea. Being in the cave was definitely not helping and you needed to calm down.
When you left Clark took off his shirt, revealing the famous S.
"I'm going out to search. I just-" Clark told Alfred but Alfred simply took Clark's shirt and nodded.
"Master Dick is with him and I will run monitors. Go find your son" He said and Clark nodded thankfully to him before disappearing in a gust of wind.
He may not have shown it but he was just as worried as you. as hopeful as he was he was terrified what might happen to his precious baby boy. Jon was so young, even with his powers (or especially because of them) he could be a danger to himself and others and Clark wouldn't be able to forgive himself if something happened and he was too late to save his son.
-
Bruce flew the batwing to a specific location. In the woods of New Jersey outside of Gotham was a cave. As a child he remembered his father took him there, he took Dick there a few months after he moved in and when Jon turned five he took him there as well. He had a suspicion -a hope- that Jon was there. Bruce told Jon that cave is a place he's gone to be alone and yet within nature. It's secluded enough to feel far while still being close to Gotham. His hope, if he dared call it that was that his nephew was hiding there.
He leapt out of the jet once it stopped above the cave and glided down to it. He carefully stepped towards it when a small scared voice called out.
"Don't come any closer!" It said and Bruce let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding when he recognized it as Jon's voice.
He took his cowl off and continued towards the cave entrance.
"Jon, it's me it's-" But Jon cut him off.
"Please- I don't wanna hurt you" The little boy said and Bruce stopped.
"You won't hurt me Jon" Bruce said but a beam of hit vision hit the edge of the cave and a sob followed.
"I will! I- I can't control it, I'm sorry- I didn't mean to" He cried and Bruce walked around to an area a little further than the cave and activated his comms.
"I found him, he's at-" Bruce began but the flash of red and blue arrived before he even finished his sentence. Clark.
"Where is he?" Clark asked looking around, in his rush and worry he forgot to even try to find his heartbeat or look around with x-ray vision.
"He's in the cave but he doesn't have any control of his powers" Bruce explained and Clark nodded and hugged him.
"Thank you" he said before walking into the cave.
"Get away!" Jon said and covered his eyes with his forearm.
"Jon- it's me, it's Pa" Clark said and at that moment Jon flew at top speed into Clark. The boy clung to his father as he cried.
"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to fly away but I was mad and dad- and I did, and then I- IgotlostandIwascryingandIheardeverythingsoloudand-" Jon's words slur together as he cried and Clark just held his little boy.
"It's okay, I'm here. we found you" Clark said and repeated as Jon wept.
Bruce stayed outside and updated the league.
"We found him. Mission accomplished" He said through his comms to the other Leaguers who were currently searching for Jon.
"Bruce-" Your scared voice said through the comms.
"He's safe. Clark is here with him and once he calms down we'll be on our way to the manor. We're not far." Bruce calmly explained and he heard you let out a breath.
"Oh- oh thank god, thank you" You said and he heard shuffling before Alfred's voice spoke.
"Well done Master Bruce" He said and bruce smiled, just a bit.
"We'll be home soon Alfred" He said before cutting the connection.
Clark came out of the cave a few moments later carrying a sleeping Jon in his arms.
"He cried himself to sleep" Clark said and Bruce nodded.
"I told the League and Y/N. He's waiting with Dick and Alfred in the manor" He said began walking to the batwing followed by Clark.
"Do you ever stop worrying about them?" Clark asked once they were on the jet and Bruce focused on the terrain outside.
"Not for a single second. I don't think any parent does. Alfred says he still sometimes pokes his head in when I'm sleeping to check if I'm breathing" Bruce told Clark.
"You can't always be there, eventually you just have to trust that you taught them enough that they'll be okay" The dark knight admits and Clark looks back at Jon soundly sleeping on a chair in the batwing.
"I hope you're right"
-
You only stopped pacing when Bruce, Clark and Jon walked out of the grandfather Clock.
You dropped to your knees and Jon literally flew into your arms. You held him tight and he clung to your shirt muttering a string of apologies.
"It's okay baby, you scared me so much, I'm just glad to see you're safe" You reassured him and when he let go you held his face in your hands.
"Never scare me like that again." You told him and he nodded and hugged you again.
"I promise" He said and you took him into your arms. He was getting to big for you to hold him on your hip but you didn't care.
Then Dick asked the question on everybody's minds.
"Where's Damian?" He asked and you looked between Bruce and Dick.
"I don't know-" You began to explain that you hadn't seen him since you got back in a panic but were cut off.
"Master Damian is right here" Alfred said as he lead Damian towards the group.
The boy was uncharacteristically shy, not looking up from the ground and you felt Jon bury himself deeper into your arms.
Alfred pushed Damian closer and Bruce looked at his son. To say he was disappointed was an understatement but he would scold Damian later.
"I am sorry Uncle." Damian practically spat out and Alfred cleared his throat. You remembered that sign and had to hold back an instinctual wince from your own experience being scolded by Alfred.
"And I am- I am sorry... Jon" He muttered and Bruce crossed his arms.
"For what?" He asked and you almost felt bad for Damian. You understood why he did what he did but the only thing you could hope for was that he would learn from this experience.
After a glaring contest with Bruce, Damian relented.
"I am sorry for what I said to you Jon. It was... mean" He said and Jon huffed.
"I don't forgive you! I won't forgive you till you admit you were wrong!" Jon yelled and you put him down.
"I will not!" Damian yelled. matching Jon's tone.
"Damian." Bruce said warningly but this time Damian didn't back down.
"I have been punished thoroughly enough. I will not accept any more humiliation!" He yelled at bruce and Dick tried to calm Damian down.
"Then I don't forgive you!" Jon yelled back and Damian huffed as the eyes of his father and brother bore into him.
"You're a jerk!" Jon continued and you kneeled down to be at eye level with both of them.
"Jon, that's enough" You told your son before turning to Damian.
"Damian, it's important that you understand that what you said was not just mean but wrong." You told him.
"But I'm not, he has no blood relation to you" Damian said and Jon tried to run away again but Clark stopped him and scooped him into his arms.
"Are Dick, Jason and Tim not your family then?" You asked.
"They aren't Bruce's biologically. What about Alfred? He raised both me and Bruce but because we don't have his DNA does that mean we're not family?" You asked and Damian looked down.
"That's different" He said and you shook your head.
"You're right" You looked at Clark in surprise when he said that.
"Y/N and I can't have children biologically, that's just not possible but that doesn't mean Jon isn't our son or the baby Millie is carrying isn't our daughter" He said and you saw how his face brightened when he mentioned your second child.
A few months ago you two decided to have another child and Millie was the surregotte that was currently pregnant with your daughter. You hadn't told anyone the gender before now.
"Family is much more than just bloodline" Bruce added.
It took a lot more than one heartfelt conversation for Damian to internalize this idea but he admitted he was wrong. and as you drove with Clark back to metropolis, Jon sleeping peacefully in the back seat. Clark leaned his head onto your shoulder.
"You were an amazing dad today" He said and you chuckled.
"So were you" You replied and smirked.
"Wonderful time for a gender reveal by the way" You said casually and Clark's head shot up.
"Shit" He said before whispering. "Shit, I forgot they didn't know" he whispered and you laughed.
"At least it was memorable" You said and he joined in your laughter.
Hello! I've been following your wayne bro series since the start and it's so interesting i love it!! If you're not busy i want to request a fic where wayne!bro and tim bond together? Bc i noticed they weren't exactly close with eo at the start but in the super sons fic they seem more friendly, i was curious on how that developed ^^ idk if this makes sense lol, hope ur having a good day!!!
I knew generally how this would go (which is why this took so long, sorry about that) but I can't for the life of me get the energy to write a full fic so I'm gonna write it as headcannons instead, hope you enjoy! (yeah, it got out of hand but it worked, this was the turn in Tim and Wayne!Bro's relationship and proof that the only way this family can communicate is when everything is falling apart😅)
- it's not that you didn't like Tim, he was a sweet kid, incredibly smart (some may say too smart for his young age) but it hadn't even been a year since Jason's death and the fact that Bruce was training another Robin just infuriated you.
- Unfortunately one thing is apparently genetic among the Waynes and that's their lack of healthy communication skills so your anger at Bruce unfortunately hurt Tim along the way
- He was 13 when he tracked Dick down and told him that not only did he know the identities of the batfamily but he knew that Batman needed a Robin because he saw how much angrier and more aggressive Batman was without him
- Eventually Tim wormed his way into the boy wonder costume and you fumed when you heard, you actually came to gotham to yell at Bruce
- None of this changed anything, you had no influence on your family's nightlife and Tim was adamant that he was staying... That being said it doesn't mean you had to like Tim or approve of any of this situation
- You ran into Tim on a few occasions, when Conner was first discovered, when you and your family visited the manor and inevitably when the boy's father died and Bruce officially took him in
- He often tried to talk to you, to bond but you couldn't, you were still grieving Jason and while you weren't angry at Tim it was difficult for you
- Eventually Bruce and Alfred had enough, even Dick (who was equally as mad at Bruce for training Tim) came around and even Clark liked him
- After two years of minimal contact Bruce told you that a young man had won an internship at Wayne Ent. and that he would be sending the boy to shadow you for a day as part of the program. He's done similar things before so you didn't think anything of it until you came to say hello to your assistant Anna who was happily chatting with a young man
- You assumed this would be the boy shadowing you so you happily came to introduce yourself
- "Good morning Anna, who might our guest be?" You asked and had to stop your expression from shifting when the boy turned around and Tim's happy face greeted you
- "Hi Mr. Wayne, it's nice to see you again" Tim said
- Suddenly things made complete sense and you only wondered if Clark and Alfred were in on this too or if it was only your brother's scheming
- The day was easy but full with meetings with department heads and a tour of a new lab for a metropolis branch of Wayne Biotech
- Tim asked a lot of questions and you were decently surprised that he seemed actually interested in the goings on of the company, his intelligence was indeed remarkable and you had no doubt that if he wanted to he could work in any scientific field he chose to study
- It was during lunch though the dreaded conversation happened
- You and Tim were eating lunch in your office while you reviewed some paperwork
"So you're not actually a perpetually serious business man like people say are you?" Tim asked and you looked up from your work.
"Is that what they say about me now?" You asked dryly before giving your actual answer to Tim's question like you'd been doing all day.
"No. That's as much a persona as Brucie is. It lets me keep my life private if I look boring"
Tim nodded taking a few more bites of the pasta he took from the cafeteria the tower had for it's employees.
"So that's why you look so work focused? so people leave you alone?" He asked and you nodded.
"I've never liked the spotlight" You said.
"Neither does Bruce" Tim said and you finally put your pen down.
"Bruce has always cared very little about what others think of him, from a young age he knew he didn't want a normal life, he had a mission, the price for which is that he must maintain a public persona" You explained.
"You don't like Batman." Tim simply stated.
"It's more complicated than that"
"Does that mean you were like this with Dick and Jason?" Tim asked and you could hear the desperation, hidden in his voice.
"I helped raise Dick, it was different and for reference I gave Bruce hell for making him Robin" You told Tim and your eyes wandered to a family photo on your desk, Bruce, Dick and Jason. From a family photo day you and Alfred practically had to force them into.
"Jason was a troubled boy he-"
"Met Bruce by stealing the batmobile's tires, I know" He cut off and you sighed.
"Stop cutting me off and listen. Jason had his issues and he needed more help than Dick or Bruce but he had so much potential. Jason- he was smart and compassionate with the biggest heart I've ever seen for someone who was hurt so much" Your voice wavered and you squeezed your eyes shut.
"When he died..." you began but trailed off.
"Bruce changed"
"We all changed. And I hoped I would never see someone wear that costume again. So I apologize if I've made you feel out of place in this family. You are welcomed here Tim but I refuse to support someone else wearing that suit after my nephew died because of it!" It was moments like these that made you thankful your office was sound proof.
"So, I'll always be the Robin whose not supposed to be?" Tim asked solemnly and you held your head as you took a deep breath.
"You sound like Bruce when he talks about his parents" Tim said.
"Neither of you know how to deal with grief." He stood up and grabbed his bag.
"Without Dick, without Jason, he's reckless and angry and irresponsible. Batman needs a Robin and Gotham needs Batman so..." His voice lost all his power as he stood with his backpack by the door he was just a scared little kid. The poor boy wasn't even 15 yet and was small and thin.
"I'm sorry for wasting your time Mr. Wayne" Tim said and you stood up to stop him.
"Tim wait" You placed your hands on his shoulders.
"This family, it's complicated. It always was. You don't- I don't want you to feel that I don't support you. I'm sorry Tim, you deserved better" Before you could do anything Tim was sobbing and you simply held him as he cried, just like you did with Jason, and Dick and Bruce once upon a time.
"It's okay Tim" You said as you helped him sit down on one of the comfy chairs in your office.
- You cancelled the rest of your work day and took Tim back to your apartment and for the first time since you met him you sat down and talked
- he told you about life in the manor and school, about his life before. The time his parents took him to the circus and he saw the flying graysons, the nights he'd spent looking out at the bat signal or out on the streets trying to see Batman and Robin. And you told him about yourself, your family. How you met Clark and funny stories you have of Bruce and Dick. It was pleasant.
- You two went to pick Jon up and you drove Tim back to Gotham and dropped him off at the manor
- "Master Y/N, we were not expecting you and master Jon back along with master Timothy" Alfred said when you got out of the car.
- "I took the today off after lunch so I thought I'd drop him off myself, besides Jon loves car rides" You joked and ruffled Tim's hair.
"Feel free to drop by Metropolis or call if you need anything Timmy" You said and got back in making sure Jon was still asleep (he was) before driving back.
- "I assume it went well" Alfred said as he escorted Tim inside the manor and the preteen smiled.
How about Y/N Wayne and Clark having a daughter? The name could be Lara
I'm mostly sure this request came in before That It Was but I've planned on introducing Clark and Wayne!Bro's daughter for a while and here she is!
Although because I planned this before this request her name isn't Lara (though that's a good option), it's actually Elizabeth or Lizzie. (A call back to Wayne!Bro's cousin Elizabeth Kane, sister of Kate Kane)
So without further ado, here is the birth of Clark and Wayne!Bros daughter! (featuring what I just realized was the first time I've written about the Kents..)
You paced the waiting room anxiously, 12 hours, that's how long you and Clark have been in the hospital while Millie -your surrogate- was in labour.
"Y/N, take a seat, your pacing isn't going to make time move faster" Clark said but you continued to pace.
"I can't sit still, I've sat still for too long" You told him and he sighed. Of course you knew that Clark, even with his calm and collected appearance was nervous. (Though not as nervous as he was for Jon's birth seven years ago) No, your husband knew how to hide his worry but you never took the time to learn. Or more specifically, you never took the time to transfer the skill from the boardroom to daily life. You were what your husband and eldest son lovingly called- a worry wart. Not the best description for someone who married Superman and whose family are all crime fighting vigilantes but an apt description of what you were.
Suddenly the doors to Millie's hospital room opened and a small army of doctors, nurses and technicians rushed a bed through the hallway. You looked worriedly between Clark and the group and you husband strode to your side.
"Her heartbeat is stable" He whispered in your ear and that eased the deathgrip your fear had on your lungs.
A lone nurse rushed back from the group.
"What's happening?" Clark asked, beating you by only a second.
"Millie's fine and so is the baby, there are some problems with the delivery- specifically that the baby's having trouble making it through the cervix so the doctor has ordered a c-section for both the mother and the baby's safety" The nursed explained and you nod,
"So they'll both be alright?" You asked and the nurse nodded.
"In fact c-sections are faster than normal births so the baby will be here sooner than expected" She added and you smiled and leaned into Clark.
"Thanks goodness"
After 50 minutes (you checked) a nurse came out of the OR holding a little bundle.
"Mr. Wayne, Mr. Kent, this is your happy, healthy baby" He said and placed the little bundle in your arms. She indeed was big for a baby with adorable chubby cheeks and big e/c eyes.
"Hi" You simply said as you looked down at your daughter and she looked back at you with curious eyes as if asking who you were.
"I'm dada" You told her and Clark leaned over your shoulder and held out his finger for your daughter to squeeze.
"And I'm papa" He said and she smiled. Your daughter smiled at you for the first time and you wanted cry with joy.
the staff set up a room for you, Clark and the baby to stay in and while the baby napped you checked up with Millie to make sure she was okay and to thank her, after all she brought your baby girl into the world.
a few hours later Ma and Pa Kent along with Jon came by and while Clark was sitting by the window doing skin to skin with his daughter. Jon ran to hug you.
"Is she here?! Is she here?!" He asked and you laughed bringing a finger to your lips.
"She is and she's sleeping" You told Jon, your son was probably the most excited for the birth of your daughter, after all she was his sister! He was a big brother now!
"Why's Pa shirtless?" Jon asked and Ma kent laughed guiding her grandson to her son.
"Pa's holding your sister as close as he can so she feels welcomed into the family" Ma Kent explained and Jon nodded, that made perfect sense.
"Have you decided on a name yet? Cause Clark mentioned you wanted another family name" Pa Kent said and you nodded.
"We did yeah" You said and Martha turned her attention to you and Clark. You looked at your husband to see if he'd say something but his eyes were closed and he seemed wholly focused on your daughter so the announcement fell to you.
"Her name is Elizabeth Kent-Wayne" You announced and Ma Kent smiled.
"Was Elizabeth a grandmother of yours?" She asked and you shook your head.
"A cousin actually, she passed when she was a kid" You explained.
Jon came up to you and tugged lightly on your shirt, "Can I hold her?" He asked and you chuckled.
"If you can wake up Pa, sure" You said and Jon was on the task. You subtly pulled out your phone and took a few pictures, both of Jon's attempts to wake his Pa and of Clark sleeping with your daughter on his chest.
