Privately, Sirius was glad it was just the three of them, where they could lay and listen to music and smoke, Remus showing them around, something of a half assed tour guide, he and James sharing a bed in the Lupins small guest room, though half the nights the three of them passed out in Remus’s room, either a tangle of limbs on the floor or even occasionally in Remus’s bed. Not that he didn’t want Peter there, but it was something different when it was the three of them, something fragile and unsaid, but there nonetheless. And though he knew the other two would never say anything, Sirius liked how it felt to be the three of them, just them, something together like, even if it was just for the week.
