emma is really jumpy, and laurance has a tendency to sneaky so... he LOVES sneaking up on her, across all universes. in mcd she can cheat a little because after being around him so much she can like, shadow-knight-sense him lmao but he can still get her if she's distracted. she HATES when he does this. in pdh, she once got so surprised she spun around and clocked him hard enough to bruise. he didn't mind, but he told her she couldn't tell anyone SHE was why he had a bruise or his fangirls would probably kill her... he later ended up saying dante punched him in a panic when someone asked him. dante had a very bad week after that... laurance STILL tries to surprise emma when he sees her, but since they see each other less as adults, sometimes he just texts her "BOO!" (that's not effective, but one time he called her and just shouted BOO! at her and she threw her phone screaming)

in pdh, laurance and emma met while laurance was still in the shadow knights. confused as to why gene was dragging a kid along with them, he tried to reach out to her and ended up being one of emma's first real friends outside of family. at the time laurance still had long hair, so he used to let emma play with it while the knights were sitting around! those are still some of her fondest memories

in pdh again, when laurance realized emma didn't have a lot of good older figures in her life, he made an effort to introduce her to cadenza (don't tell her, it'll go to her head, but she's the coolest gal laurance knows). cadenza pretty immediately took emma as a little sister, especially since laurance was already prettyyyy much doing the same. cadenza looooves making clothes for emma, she's like cadenza's favorite dress-up doll. if cadenza could, she would completely steal emma from her brothers and make em her baby sister instead HAHA

even into adulthood, cadenza and laurance are probably emma's main support system for a long time! they were two of the only people emma kept in contact with after high school, and the two of them helped her a lot in getting on her feet. i don't know if i've said this on here (and i know this is cadenza not laur sorry!!) but at the start of mystreet, emma lives with cadenza :] the two practically adopted emma, lmao

in a way, laurance taking care of emma in pdh/myst is kind of repayment for mcd, where emma was the more experienced of the two in being a shadow knight and tried to help laurance a lot. emma actually stayed in phoenix drop for laurance, the two vowing to each other that they'd stick out their shadow knight impulses together. emma was pretty heartbroken when laurance left again for the nether.

that isn't to say laurance didn't help emma too though!!! he was her first real safe place since childhood; i don't think she could have healed as much as she did if she hadn't met laurance. while i think we all know i think laurance is a dork, he's still better at socializing than emma is, and he knows a lot more about the overworld, so the two would spend nights together teaching each other what they knew, and pouring out things they couldn't tell anyone else

i came back to add one more in an edit. laurance is the first in mcd to find out dante is her brother and also who daniele's father is (zane...) !!!
