It had been a rather chilly night, one that Flint had felt most comfortable in sitting to relax. A solem look had been on his face lately, and still haunted the feiry red head’s normally happy look. Incinerator, his infernape, sat beside him in silence.
It was soon broken by a concerned noise on Incinerator’s part.
“What’s wrong buddy?” Flint looked up and over to where his pkemon had been staring- how long had the lighthouse been out..? It was high time it should be on, casting a familiar light unto the city it lived in. That was when the all too familiar feeling of something being wrong, hit him.
“..Something isn’t right.”
Flint got up and lightly jogged to the villa immediately letting Cynthia and Lucian know where he’d be. At least, he wouldn’t be back for a long while.
Not when something might be wrong with his best friend.
The red head took to the skies immediately after, his charizard by the name of Maximus, flying as fast as his wings would carry them. It was at least nice outside- perfect weather conditions making it rather smooth, but that wasn;t what Flint was worried about now.
As soon as they landed in Sunnyshore, he got off of his pokemon’s back and thanked him for his hardwork, returning hi to the confines of his pokeball. Luckily, he landed them right infront of the gym, and hopefully Volkner would still be in.
Flint walked up to the giant doors, before knocking on the door lightly “Volkner...you in buddy?”

[❅] - Snowpoint Café is a quaint establishment that’s located conveniently in between a row of the city’s “Ma and Pa” shops; providing them with the daily prospect of new customers and financial gain. Among the close-knit community of Snowpoint, where everyone knows each other’s name, helping one another is quite the common occurrence. The people are well-known for their amiability and kindness.
Aside from what the café does for its neighboring businesses, it also helps those who are seeking a warm respite from the city’s perpetually frigid temperatures. While there may be similar dining facilities sprinkled around the town of falling snow, it offers a variety of hearty meals and drinks at low prices. That sort of bargain is always welcomed by the customers.
Whenever she has the time, Candice loves to stop by and order her favorite: a large mug of hot cocoa with extra marshmallows, peppermint crumbles, and whip cream. It’s always deserving after a long afternoon of Pokémon battling. Plus, at her usual table, the gym leader gets a perfect view of her gym because of it’s nearby location to the shopping center. If there are any trainers looking for a challenge, she can easily pack up and go meet up with them.
So, that is where the young diamond dust girl finds herself: in her perfect little corner of bliss, watching the drifting snow via café window.
As Candice takes another sip from her mug, she grins as the warm liquid slides down her throat; the soothing sensation is absolutely rejuvenating. Although hot cocoa is a staple drink among the denizens of Snowpoint, Candice has never grown tired of it. Each cup is always better than the last.
Musing over the day’s activity at the gym, Candice reflects upon the battles so far. Most trainers were able to defeat her if they were properly equipped with trained Pokemon. Some, however, were still requiring a bit more practice. In such events, it always pains her to deny them a badge, but… rules are rules. Relaxing into her chair, Candice lets out a sigh of satisfaction. While busy days are usually her favorite, nothing gets better than taking a moment to find “your inner zen”, according to PokéFashion weekly.
Casting the gym one final glance (because there are still trainers who stop by after the regular influx of challengers), she allows herself to close her eyes for a couple of minutes; letting the delightful wave of cocoa and peppermint carry her away on a relaxing journey.
However, that does not last long.
From the entrance comes a melodious chime, announcing the presence of a new customer. Hazel eyes opening and glancing upward out of sheer curiosity, a tiny squeal emits from the gym leader as she’s met with the sight of an all too familiar face.
Could it be…?
… Volkner?
It’s Volkner!
But why is he here in Snowpoint? Has he come to visit her?!
Suddenly hyper-aware of her appearance, Candice frantically begins to preen herself like a wild Starly. Whipping out a small compact mirror from her periwinkle bag, she flips it open and does the hair and makeup check. Then, once everything is deemed suitable, Candice tests her breath - deciding to pop a breath mint in - and (casually) stands up from her chair, straightening out her sweater and skirt before walking (not too quickly) over to the blond hunk of Sunyshore.
“Hi, Volkner~! Candice is so happy to see you! ♪ ” She greets, throwing her arms around him in a warm, friendly embrace. The pungent aroma of motor oil wraps around her senses and remains even once she pulls away. It brings her back to the first day that she met him, when the blond was working on his first motor bike.
“Is Volkner here to visit Candice today?” The inquiry doesn’t last long before she continues onward, “Ohhh, he is, isn’t he! That’s so sweet! I gotta tell Maylene about this later! Volkner came allllll the way from Sunyshore to see me, Candice!”
Satisfied with her conclusion, the girl steps back, still beaming up at Volkner (whose expression resembles a mixture of annoyance, confusion, and... something else).
Letting out a girlish laugh, Candice gestures toward his head. “Volkner… you have snowflakes in your hair!”
tbh, i think at the time i reserved venice — there were lots of aqua and magma members being picked up and starred so i wanted in too!! but now i’ve grown attached to her and i love her so (^:
▽ Any RP pet peeves?
idk?? tbh my rp pet peeve is me not being able to reply to anyone bc i may feel uninspired or lazy and i feel bad because they take their time to interact with my muses u feel
פ Any characters you’d like to RP with that are currently played by no one?
Muse - I like how Volkner’s such a chill dude. While most Gym Leaders have a distinct, sometimes extreme characteristic, Volkner’s character is well blended and, to me, feels most real and relatable. I think his fluctuating spirit for battle is what speaks to me the most. It’s rough, getting exhausted sometimes from just a thought, but Volkner’s not crying over angst or anything. It may be hard to get to know him, but it’d be pleasing just getting along!
Mun - I like your openness! You’re notably confident as you share stories, opinions and even suggestions in the chat. You seem to find a way to comfortably talk with everybody and that’s truly awesome, Stephen.

Sinnoh. Satomi had never thought she would have made it to this region when she'd set out on her journey. Indeed, she had assumed she'd never make it out of Johto. Yet here she was, standing outside of Sunyshore City's gym. The gentle seabreeze was comforting - something she needed as she gathered her courage to enter the building. As was custom of all traveling kimono girls, it was up to Satomi to introduce herself to the gym leader. She'd been asked by the dance theater to give a performance in the city. As her mother had put it, people in Sinnoh just didn't seem to "understand the art" that was inherent in their lives. Satomi was inclined to agree. Since setting foot in the region, people had stared at her as if she was some strange exotic bird.
Then again, not many people wore furisode outside of Johto.
Reaching up to scratch under the chin of the Sylveon that perched on her shoulder, Satomi took a deep breath before smiling to herself. "Let's go, shall we?" She'd just been ready to open the door when a dejected trainer a few years younger than her burst through it - cradeling an injured Chatot. The kimono girl nearly grimaced as she watched the other go. "He's the last gym leader before the League here, isn't he? He must be difficult to face..." Once more she could feel the pit of nervousness grow in her stomach. The very thought of having to face a person like that made her fidget nervously. Of course, she wouldn't have to fight him. She was simply a visitor. Someone who came to dance, not to battle. All she had to do was introduce herself to the Leader, offer an invitation to her performance, and then leave.
Satomi squared her shoulders before she opened the door to the gym. For a brief moment, it seemed as if she would be able to speak to the leader without complication. Then, a voice rang out from her left.
"A new challenger approaches!"
A look of surprise crossed the female's features as she glanced behind herself. Surely they didn't mean her, did they? No one stood behind her, though. The kimono girl was just preparing to back out of the gym when she was seized by two trainers on either side. "W-Wait, I'm---" "Nervous about fighting him? Huhm. I would be too." "You have the w--" "Will to be Volkner's assisstants? Yes." In that moment, Satomi resigned herself to her fate. Perhaps if she simply waited until she came face to face with the leader and explained things, he'd understand. Volkner, wasn't it? All she had to do was tell him why she was there and he'd let her go. It was these thoughts that Satomi comforted herself with as she was deposited on the other side of an arena.
"The challenger's first Pokemon is the fairy type, Sylveon!"
Grasping for Sylveon in an attempt to stop him as he jumped down into the arena (a feat that she ultimately failed), Satomi looked around in a panic before her eyes settled on the blond on the other side of the arena. "W-Wait! You have the wrong idea! I don't want to fight! I just want to talk!"
Jasmine had been pacing the floor for what felt like hours. She had been more than happy to go to Sunyshore when Volkner asked for Amphy’s help at the lighthouse, but now the electric type was once again sick. With no idea what had happened, the brunette’s trust was now in Volkner to heal her electric type.
After what felt like an eternity, Volkner exited the room Amphy was in, and Jasmine noticed a glow coming from the room as well.
"Is Amphy okay? What was wrong? Do I need to take her home?" The brunette was immediately asking, talking a mile a minute with barely any breaths in between.
Volkner chuckled. “Amphy is fine. She just overexerted herself a little bit. With a little charging from my Luxray she’s back to her old self.” Volkner said, patting her head.
Before Jasmine knew it, she was hugging him “Thank you so much Volkner! I didn’t know what I could do! I mean electric types aren’t my thing and when Amphy gets like that I just get so worried. But you saved her! How can I repay you?”
Volkner laughed, Wrapping his arms loosely around her waist. “There’s no need to do anything. I was just glad I could help. If there’s anything I could ever do to help just call, alright?”
The brunette paused, and before she knew it her hands were on his collar, and she was pulling him down to her lipe. They were firm, determined. But they softened a bit against him, and she found herself being pulled closer to him.
The steel expert pulled away the moment the situation clicked in her brain, and she focused on anything but his face as she felt her cheeks catch fire.
"U-Um yeah so if Amphy is alright I think I’ll turn in for the night. Um thanks again I’ll see you tomorrow." And like that, she was gone.
