panel: nightwing confronts a woman (namely ms eastbourne) who was seen on the news standing for the eight families of the nine deceased in the blĂźdhaven superhighway crash which nightwing (in the public eye) is seen to be heavily liable for. in earlier panels, she states her stance to take him to court and serve him due justice. to citizen's doubt she states that blĂźdhaven is not like gotham and that if nightwing wants to present himself as a hero to the people, he will vouch for himself in criminal court. nightwing's internal narration reads "I need to do something to help me rest."
ms eastbourne: yeah, i can take it on. lets just push the meeting till wednesday. and dont forget-- aah! (nightwing is seen standing at the window pane)
nightwing: ms eastbourne.
ms eastbourne: w-what do you want? if youre here to intimidate me out of taking the case against you, youre very much barking up the wrong tree.
nightwing: i want to tell you my side of the story, to tell you what caused the pileup on the superhighway
okay đ we all know dick cant resist appealing to the strong willed civilian woman who has him on no nonsense watch (can we get three cheers for amy rohrbach please.) and this new character interests me a good deal more than maggie sawyer as comiss did so i cant wait to see where this goes. dick needs to reconnect with the roots of what he does after batman, spyral, and whatever big money pants taylor put him in and im hoping this symbolizes some of his internal conflict the way his time with bruce, barbara, or kory as superheroes just cant.
