Kassie: ………y'know, as soon as I said the thing, I went, "…and then Astrid made some point about how this is my default state of being and how is it any different from normal for me."

Kassie: IN MY DEFENSE… he was in a situation where his only choices were "bite Liam" and "let Liam die"… but Scott. [lengthy discussion of the thing and flailing about Scott excised.] …so my sad noises about Scott are completely justified.

Astrid: bb you would say that if the scene was …idk Scott playing with adorable puppies. Because you'd still get lycanthropy feels. And then they would be sad. And then you would become a mess.

Astrid: And queue sad noises about Scott.

Kassie: ………if Scott were playing with puppies, I would at least be distracted by the cute thing for a few minutes before I ruined it.

Kassie: otherwise, yes, that is accurate but…

Kassie: I would spend a few minutes going, "awwww look at the precious oh my god give Scott all the puppies"

Kassie: and I think that counts for something.

Astrid: no no it does not

Astrid: because you'd still go 'but my sad noises about scott are completely justified because [reasons the puppies are actually a sad and terrible reflection on scott's relationship with lycanthropy]

…siiiiiiighs. so apparently I want to write some random melancholy slice of life thing, the basic premise of which is, "Cam, Laura, and Braeden do things. also stuff. maybe Danny shows up, maybe not, haven't decided yet. did I mention that they do things? because they do, that's kind of important"

and… I'm really not sure what the things even ARE aside from apparently one scene of having feels about how Cam wanted to be an artist but then Edmund happened, and Braeden wanted to be a prima ballerina but then family drama happened,

and Laura never really wanted to *be* anything in particular, she just wanted to have all the books in the entire world and a tower guarded by undead servants and a dragon (because trusting humans with her security is invariably going to end terribly) where she could sit quietly and read and not have to be Derek's parent forever or worry about Peter getting near Cora like he did Derek or put up with her completely suffocating family ever again.
