Here’s a fun little question for you guys to answer.
When Gabrielle takes on Xena’s mantle at the end of the show, do we think she gets the title ‘Warrior Princess’ too or does she just stay as The Battling Bard? Her own warrior title that she earned. I think it’s anyone’s guess but I feel like when she takes on Xena’s role completely, she gets everything that was Xena’s. Including her title.
I mean she learns the pinch, wields the chakram and, as per my thesis, even merges with Xena physically. It’s possible we’re supposed to think she is the warrior now.
Also I’m pretty sure Rob Tapert’s working title for a continuation show was ‘Gabrielle: Warrior Princess’ not Gabrielle: The Battling Bard but Renee turned it down because she wanted to focus on having a family life.
I’d like to ask Rob Tapert this at some point. If he goes to one of the conventions, I’ll definetly be there to ask.
