Look at them? They’re so beautiful. I get a very specific vibe from them. They’re like when your older brother starts dating this really cute/quirky girl from school and he’s a jock and she’s an understated cool girl and they’re just... A really cute couple?

What did I say! Older brother and his gf brings younger siblings and a bunch of their friends out to have fun (chaperoned by a paying adult of course... Sorry Reiner...)

Porco is a bit of an asshole but he’s soft for Pieck and she manages to calm him a bit and she gets him to not take himself so seriously?!? Like when Porco was like “oh yes our superiors are so brilliant!!!” and she’s like “yeah lol like when they sent 4 kids on that suicide mission huh!”

Calls him Pokko and lives to tell the tale? Because she’s so self-assured she also doesn’t cave when it comes to him. She’s just unaffected and I think Porco needs that reality check.

Gallerei is all about the hate sex, the tension, the protecting each other on the battlefield with their lives, the tender moments in between and finally... THE RELUCTANT CONFESSION.

Porco the angry jock, the “I’m nice to everyone but I fucking hate Reiner Braun’s guts”, the glowering, the tormenting, the taking emotional trauma out on Reiner, the YOU’LL NEVER MEASURE UP TO MY BROTHER.

And Reiner the resigned, the tired, the “I can decimate a whole village but I’ll let Porco walk all over me because of the guilt I carry”, the “yell at me... take it out on me... just... just I want to forget...”. Jesus Christ.

And Porco softening because well... because he’s had this loser crush on the loser kid for as long as he can remember. And it just sucks because well... reiner’s a loser and he blames loser kid for his brother, but deep down he knows it’s just blind rage. He knows Reiner was just a kid and he wanted so much more and he never wanted marcel to die. The constant comparison between Reiner and marcel is something Porco does out of hate, because he knows how much Reiner has tried to emulate his brother. But when Reiner’s finally cracks and is himself, Porco softens. Oooomhf.

Mmmmmmmmm the comfort after (albeit comfort to the hurt that he had caused in the first place 😕 but I mean they both have lots of emotional trauma to unpack so they can talk about that too)...

I knowwwww! Why did they draw him so cute? Look at his lil button nose. I also love that he’s a lil stocky!

But also he’s someone that really might kill you for messing up his stupidly perfect slicked back hair (he wakes up half an hour earlier to get his hair done).

But Porco can’t get over himself and the fact that he has this loser crush on Reiner so he continues taking it out on him? And Reiner knows but it’s like, “well... What can I do? Galliard’s got issues, he takes it out on me... Oh well...”

And yet there’s a little smugness in Reiner because Porco’s got a smart mouth but Reiner is also very much acquainted with the other things that smart mouth can do.

But I’m sure there’s a turning point somewhere when Porco realises it’s not sustainable being a dick and it’s just a front for unaddressed trauma, so he deals with it and is a lot sweeter to Reiner💖

God he’s so beautiful? He also gives me Marco vibes. Someone explain this to me. Why does he give me Marco vibes? He’s just a really nice dude! Who’s also a bit of a mess- Falco wants Colt to stop embarrassing him in front of Gabi, absolutely useless when drunk,

I love seeing Porco with Colt it’s such a stark contrast from Porco and Reiner?

Some of the warrior candidates do remind me of other characters. Zofia reminds me of Annie but with different eyes. Gabi reminds me of Sasha’s season 4 design. And Udo is really levihan’s love child? And his mannerisms are pretty similar to Hanji’s at some points!

I love how everyone went crazy with it!!!

(Disclaimer: I’ve only been watching the anime, I know she’s great in the manga too but I haven’t seen much of that yet)

When I first saw her design I fell in love? And the anime just elevates the experience because the voice acting is VERY GOOD. She’s so beautiful and smol and I just- excuse me? 10/10 gorgeous babie

Also she seems really cool. She’s very level headed, and seems really chill and unbothered and a little bit of a weird kid, but when the need arises she makes good calls and is really perceptive?

Also her being soft to the kids- her giving Colt alcohol, praising Gabi, asking the kids to take it easy and not push themselves too much, (her leeching off Reiner with Porco and the kids). 💖🥺💖

Her mediating and saying her piece, but also not getting too involved- “porco stop needling poor Reiner...”

Her not giving a fuck and calling Porco whatever she likes because she knows she can get away with it. Also this oddly tender moment between Porco and Pieck?
