Warp bubbles might be real.
Abstract While conducting analysis related to a DARPA- funded project to evaluate possible structure of the energy density present in a Casimir cavity as predicted by the dynamic vacuum model, a micro/nano-scale structure has been discovered that predicts negative energy density distri- bution that closely matches requirements for the Alcubierre metric.
The simplest notional geometry being analyzed as part of the DARPA-funded work consists of a standard par- allel plate Casimir cavity equipped with pillars arrayed along the cavity mid-plane with the purpose of detecting a transient electric field arising from vacuum polarization conjectured to occur along the midplane of the cavity. An analytic technique called worldline numerics was adapted to numerically assess vacuum response to the custom Casimir cavity, and these numerical analysis results were observed to be qualitatively quite similar to a two-dimensional representation of energy density requirements for the Alcubierre warp metric. Subse- quently, a toy model consisting of a 1 μm diameter sphere centrally located in a 4 μm diameter cylinder was analyzed to show a three-dimensional Casimir energy density that corre- lates well with the Alcubierre warp metric requirements. This qualitative correlation would suggest that chip-scale experi- ments might be explored to attempt to measure tiny signatures illustrative of the presence of the conjectured phenomenon: a real, albeit humble, warp bubble. It’s really funny talking to my brother who knows WAY more math and science than me. He’s even more of a sci-fi nerd than me but he knows enough to be really hard nosed about pretty much anything that sounds even remotely too good.
We were talking about White and the whole Warp Bubble thing. And I can hear his cell phone shaking. “Don’t get me started on the Casamir effect.” And he just goes off on how unlikely anything remotely resembling Star Trek is to ever occur. And it’s just extra funny because he can quote every Star Trek line he’s picking apart because he loves it but he’ll also quote Alcubierre himself about the likelihood of the Warp Drive never working because there is probably some absurdly simple law we don’t know that when we figure it out will nix it.
And when I say, “Well, I get why people are into White, he is getting DARPA funding.” My borther shoots back, “DARPA gave a group a million dollars to check and see if you could blow up missiles by burning polaroids of the missiles. If there’s a one in a trillion chance something might work, they’re fine giving you a million dollars to just check it out. Are they giving White any more money?” “Not so far as I can tell.” “Then they think it’s less likely to pan out than ligthing photos on fire being a good missile defense system.”

Warp drive pioneer Dr. Harold G “Sonny” White has reported the successful manifestation of an actual, real-world “Warp Bubble.”
Dr. Harold "Sonny" @#4king White may have accidently found a real Warp bubble while working on a different project. Like if any of you know anything about Sonny White you know his discovery (if it pans out a bit more) is just perf that he found it accidently. Now while this doesn't mean we'll have FTL Warp anytime soon, at the very very VERY least finding them naturally in nature can open so much more to our understanding of the universe! And if... IF we can grow a warp bubble around a space ship it could still help us get around our solar system and to the nearest starts at possibly even close to light speed. Mineral Resources in the solar system will be accessed so easily, and any asteroid that poses a threat to Earth could be mined and/or diverted and we could stop ripping up our planet.
