Ughdgg I’m in one of those moods where I’m angry at everything I draw
But I have a need to draw something
Can one of you bugs send asks for stupid ship art doodles . I can turn off my brain with ship art
Actual doodles not whatever I call doodles

We're going through the Predator movie franchise for our family movie nights and last night was the start with Predator from 1987 and boy, what a revelation. I think I'd only seen it once before and probably within a few years of it's release, and had the impression that it was fun but not great. While some of it is pretty dated, other parts are absolutely wonderful.
It's extremely 80s, from the over-the-top action to the odd homophobic slur and female accessory character, sure, but it's the first Arnold movie I've ever seen where he actually looked attractive. It's also really tightly paced. We had a collective snack-and-pee break at one point and I was a little shocked to see that 30 minutes had already passed.
And then there's the lighting and camera work. Holy mother of God. I was constantly blown away by just how gorgeous it was. Scenes of the jungle, beads of sweat on a character's face, blood dripping onto a leaf... gorgeous. And nothing was dark like so many modern movies can be. There was tension in bright daylight and all the action in night scenes was sharp and clearly lit.
Anyhow, if watching a move so pretty you want to lick it like it's a piece of shiny candy appeals to you, Predator is a much watch.
