The number of combat related fatalities in Trump's Iran War was suddenly lowered from eighteen to fourteen yesterday on the Pentagon website.
It was eighteen dead due to hostile action, but now it's fourteen.
Did four service members suddenly and miraculously return to life?
Did the Pentagon miscount?
Nope.
Nope, they just decided to apply some Rich People Math. That's what Rich People do when they don't like the numbers. That's how you bankrupt a casino, but still somehow come out even richer.
Pentagon officials explained that the four military member recently killed by hostile action did NOT actually count.
They don't count.
Because, and get this, Trump officially ended the war with Iran in April.
That's right.
They don't count. Because the ongoing war was over, even though now it's not, but for that moment when Iran was bombing our bases that wasn't actually war, that was peace, which is now over and also why Trump doesn't need Congressional approval, because it's not war unless it is war for documentation purposes. See? Rich People Math.
Also, they're gonna need another $trillion or so for the Not War. That's why Rich People Math works, right there, the rest of us get stuck with the bill.
1st LT Tyler James Feehan, Sgt Angel Rampersad, Pvt Isabella Gonzales, and Sgt Michael Swinton, they don't count, despite Trump literally telling their families: "All I’m going to say is, we love you. We love your child, and that’s what they are to them. They’re their children. There’s no games, no nothing.”
No games. We love you. We love your kids. Sure. Just like Trump loved your kids back in his first term, just like it was no games during the COVID pandemic. Remember those dead people? No, of course you don't, because dead Americans don't count if you just don't count them! Magic. Rich People Math, you pick up the tab.
No games, we love ya, LOL.
Despite renewed hostilities and despite Trump threatening to commit even more war crimes in Iran and despite those service members being directly killed by Iranian missiles and an exploding Iranian attack drone, those dead service members just don't count.
They don't count.
They don't matter.
Their deaths are irrelevant and will not be acknowledged as hostile action because to do so would make Trump look bad. So, for Trump's vainglory, they don't exist. Just like all those people who died of COVID. Or from Elon Musk's Doge. Or from ICE in the streets. That's the patriotic sacrifice you make living in Trump's America. All hail!
I'd ask those veterans who voted for Trump how they feel about such erasure, but I already know the answer:
"But, but, but HILLARY, Jim! Hillary!"
(that's a literally quote from a veteran to me, by the way)
When you're in a cult, you can justify any hypocrisy, any dishonor, and dismiss the bloody deaths of your suddenly unworthy fellows as right and proper all while proclaiming just how much you love, honor, and cherish their sacrifice.
You'll cheerfully trade your integrity for the glory of your master. Even if it kills you.
Just ask Lindsey Graham.
