Wrapping it up... 2015
2015 was harsh, bittersweet, and definitely a tough year for me. As I look back, it was a year and a series of twist and turns of unfortunate, if not, unpredictable events occurred, I think, just like everyone does. Above all, everything will always be a learning experience. To begin, the first quarter of the year was terribly the saddest, not just economically in the family, ribbon cutting of friendships, but the worst, was losing a loved one, my Grandma. Yes, death is inevitable, but the experience of losing in front of your naked eyes was unimaginable, it was a moment of turning point where you don't really or actually know what to do. But on the lighter side of things, I know she is in the right hands of God now. And I know, she is resting in peace. 🙏🏻 During the second quarter of the year, I was a lost soul. After taking my final exam in first year law school, I don't know what to do with my life. I was confused, uncertain of things, and above all, I overthink. On the other hand, perhaps, the constellation was with me at that time and so the universe, as there was a sudden change of school year in law school which will start on the third quarter of the year. Thus, I still have time to think wether or not, to continue law school. Then, a sudden call slash invites from my colleague way back in college, inviting me to try teaching english as a foreign language to another country, which happens to be part of my undergrad course. And so, without hesitation, I booked a ticket, hoping on finding my own lost soul. And without realizing, among us four, who brainstormed, I was the one who pursued flying. Then third quarter came, flew to a foreign land, bravely and confidently of what's in store in the box, without even thinking of the consequences, and arrived. Everything was new, the feeling was surreal, yet again, is the start and search of the lost soul. I never would have imagine myself living in countryside of the foreign land, but regardless of it, I gave it a try, to experience what's it like in a rural area. Flew from Bangkok to the provinces of Ubon Ratchathani, the northeast side of Thailand. Things are different from back home yet again, there's always a first time of everything. And yes, adjustments exist! Moreover with the fourth quarter of the year, a crisis came, of yet again, question the self about what is the purpose of life. And then I have realized, you don't have to make a list in order to do this and that, but let flow of what's coming. The past is a learning experience, the future is uncertain, but the present is still the best to experience. And so, I was able to visit some of popular bucketlists of any tourist destinations in the world, Pattaya, Ayutthaya, and Krabi, Thailand. Plus the side trips in some of the provinces in Thailand and Savannakhet, Laos during the third quarter. Horray! 🙌🏻 I think, on a personal note, just like any blogs in the world, if you really wanted to find yourself, or what you are looking for in life, is that you travel. Not necessarily overseas, but travel at least far away from your comfort zone. Living abroad isn't easy, you will definitely overthink and you will lose if you won't keep up. As for now, I'm still searching... For my purpose? Well, I think I already have found it. For my lost soul? Yes, it's just me, overthinking. For my soulmate... Hmmmm. I think it would take long. Beyond words, it was a year of worth the treasure. A year of moments and a year of experience. 1/10/16 at 11:54PM thoughts
