Greetings 2022 internet, it’s Ko. It’s the middle of typhoon season in Toyko right now. Everyday is a symphony of torrential rain, calm winds, and some more broken umbrella dreams. I’m running out of normal walking shoes to wear outside since they get drenched as soon as they hit the pavement. It’s like the rain cues my feet moving outside as the encore for another unique life experience with living here. One of my Tokyo friends is soon departing from the Land of the Rising Sun, soon to return to the Land of the Long White Cloud. I’ll miss their company and everything, but change is good. At least that’s what everyone tells me. We both lived here since mid 2019, and it’s going to be quite different having them gone. My weekends are gonna become so bleak lol. Anyway, the worst of the typhoon is over, my teeth are at their three year worst, and i’m celebrating be munching on prawn chips. Oh, and the Queen is dead. Happy September! Also quite miserable that I haven’t been able to to source a decent mooncake here. The mid-autumn festival just isn’t the same without that salted egg goodness. Onwards with the cloudy, less humid days! I welcome autumn and koyo leaves with welcome arms!
