It’s been a long time and the Lockdown is taking over.

Link 14 - Day 4: “Babies” 

Imagine the following scenario; 

Instead of Yuusaku, Takeru is the one who gets lured away by Ryouken, as they both happen to meet each other at a playground, with Takeru accidentally dropping his cards and Ryouken helps him picking them all up. 

Then Takeru gets locked away, and when Ryouken learns about the horror Takeru is being put through during the lost incident, he tries to contact him through the microphones in the control room when no one is there. But he ends up talking with Yuusaku instead, with Yuusaku being the one to make Ryouken take the decision to report the incident. 

Ryouken is heavily plagued by guilt, with it only getting worse through the Tower of Hanoi arc and learning Playmaker’s identity. Learning Soulburner’s identity, though, crushes him. And that’s why he’s so passive about Takeru’s anger. Because he deserves it.

How Shima Got Everyone to Celebrate Yusaku’s Birthday

You are all probably wondering how Naoki Shima managed to get everyone to celebrate Yusaku Fujiki’s birthday. Well I’ll tell you how.

Shima discovered Yusaku’s birthday is coming up when one of the teachers asked him to deliver important student documents to the teachers lounge and one of documents had Yusaku’s birthday listed. He then proceeds to convince the Duel Club to throw a surprise birthday party after school on that day and the club though it was a great way to celebrate one of their club members. Shima then asks Aoi to help plan the party and at first Aoi didn’t want to help, but when Shima mentions the party is for Yusaku, she agrees to do it. For Aoi, this is the perfect way to show Yusaku her gratitude for helping her in Vrains a few times.

On the day of Yusaku’s birthday, Shima tries to get Yusaku to go with him to Duel Club, but as always, Yusaku politely declines his offer. Shima kept trying but Yusaku insisted he had something important to do that day. Not giving up, Shima follows Yusaku into town and he sees him meeting with Takeru at the shopping district. It appears the two of them were talking about something and Shima notices that Yusaku had a shopping bag with him and was showing the contents to Takeru. Takeru looked excited and as soon as Yusaku left, Shima confronted Takeru and wanted to know what was going on.

Takeru explained that Yusaku was looking for a present for Jin Kusanagi since it’s his birthday as well; Jin recently transferred to their school and is in the same class with Shima and Yusaku. It turns out that Jin and Yusaku share the same birthday and Yusaku wanted to celebrate Jin’s birthday with Jin’s brother Shoichi. This would cheer up both brothers, especially Shoichi since he’s happy that Jin is finally out of the hospital. With this new information, Shima asks Takeru to convince Yusaku to bring Jin with him to school to celebrate their birthdays with everyone at Duel Club. Takeru agrees and rushes off find Yusaku, but not before going back shopping to look for a present for Yusaku. Shima tells everyone in the club that the party will also be for the new kid Jin and they try their best to make adjustments to the party.
