VOX'S DEATH YEAR???
OK SO I SAW SOMEONE TALK ABT THIS MERCH DROP ON TIKTOK AND I OPENED THE COMMENTS AND WAS HOPING MORE PEOPLE WOULD BE TALKING AND THEORISING BUT THERE WASN'T A LOT OF DISCUSSION, SO HERE!
Yall. Do you think this is Vox's death year. It's SOME kind of significant year, but is it his death year? I've seen some people say it could be the year he graduated which could work considering it's a Varsity Jacket BUT like. Why. I feel like it'd make way more sense for the creators to put the death year and not graduation year. Also, if Est stands for established, it hints that Voxtek was created in 1952 aka the year of Vox's death.
Timeline wise, 1952... 1952.... My headcanon year for Vox's death was 1953/early 1954 so seeing that I got it so close made me so happy.
In my big Brighter observations post I talk a little bit about how according to the visuals we get, it appears that colour TV has not been invented or fully realised yet. I found a couple sources saying that 1954 was around the time it came out but like if you're interested I encourage you to do your own research. Also, the popularity and commonplace nature of TV only really came once colour was invented.
The name of the product is "Hazbin Hotel Voxtek Vintage Denim Varsity Jacket — BoxLunch Exclusive" which doesn't really tell us too much... also, I have no idea how canon this stuff is. Like I have no idea how this product was created and whose input was used to make it.
Does anyone have any thoughts about this or the implications it has for Vox? Maybe any big historical context type things that could be important? I really hate research, so I haven't really looked into any of that.
I would love to hear everyone's theories, and answers to the big question: Is this indeed Vox's year of death?
Link to the product below the cut!!
