Okay so you know how every immortal that we see or read about just knows all this stuff and they knew all these famous figures, right? What about an immortal who doesn’t know all that much? Like they obviously know some stuff but they didn’t care about knowing people or current events of the time. They just wanted to have fun and live their life.
People have heard this line “ a good man can’t be a good king” right. My thoughts are that the king has to do what’s best for his people and country as a whole. Some people may be mad at what he does but others would praise him. There is no black and white morals with his ruling.
Now the king would have his lords, baron, duke etc. take care of the people on their lands and come to him if it’s something big. Those people would only concern themselves with the problems that affect the commoners that they are in charge of.
I’m just thinking that the king has to think about the bigger picture while others think of the smaller picture.
Not sure if this makes that much sense.
If you like the Darkling you can’t hate Kaz and if you like Kaz you can’t hate the Darkling. Doesn’t mean you have to like them but you can’t hate them.
These characters are both not good people. The difference between them is that Kaz does bad things for revenge and Aleks does bad things to help his people.
Again you don’t have to like either one I just think you can’t go around hating on one while loving the other.

The only reason Alina and CO won was because LB dumbed Aleks down to a cartoon villain.
Some days I think that Aleksander should have killed more people, not played around trying to win back Alina. Should have just killed everyone she cared about so she’d have no support. Would have been very entertaining and sexy if him.
I find it annoying in fanfics where Alina will be like "I'm the sun summoner and I'm suppose to be his equal". It bothers me because its this attitude of entitlement that just because she is the sun summoner she should be Aleks equal.
It doesn't work like that. Aleks has years of experience of leading people, working politics, the use of his powers and living in the real world. Alina doesn't. She grew up in an orphanage with a roof over her head, a bed and food on the table. She isn't even in the army that long and doesn't exactly act like someone who is in the military.
If she wants to be equal to Aleks, she would have to study politics, military strategy , and maybe talk to the Grisha who have traumatic experience out in the world, who didn't come to the Little Palace as young children so she could understand what the real world is like especially for the Grisha. She has to work for it, not just decide she isn't going to fall for Aleks manipulations and somehow try to manipulate him back.
Aleks has years of working around people to get what he wants or to just keep his people safe. Alina is not just going to be able to somehow outsmart him just because he caught feelings for her. He is an immortal who isn't just going to get distracted easily for some girl. He is going to be able to put aside his feelings if they get in the way of his goals.
Kind of a random rant but yeah, I want her to actually work to educating herself so she could sometime down the years be more of an equal with him.
