As I was wandering toward Colonia, I realized I was getting a bit bored, and I had just discovered that it was possible to use voice commands to control some functions on my ship.
The software wasn’t that expensive, so I downloaded Voice Attack and started programming my own onboard “AI” to do such things as:
* resume my planned route when I’m done scanning
There’s something quite satisfying about saying “engage” into your headset and having the “AI” you programmed activate the FSD drive and (once in hyperspace) throttle engines to zero, so you never have to worry about crashing into stars and black holes upon exiting hyperspace.
I guess there are professionally done versions of this, but honestly I’m too cheap to shell out twenty dollars for ASTRA or Vega or whatnot. Or at least, I’m too cheap to do so right now. I’m kinda enjoy playing around with Voice Attack and my very limited programming knowledge.
