Genuine question (especially for the music nerds out there.) If a trans guy sings high because he's chosen not to go on t (or at least not yet), do you call him a countertenor (because he's a guy who sings high), a soprano (because that's the vocal quality he has), a modern castrato (because he didn't go through typical male puberty) or something else??
What is your vocal range?! I've listened to your music over and over, again and again! Yet I can never figure it out!
It gets a lil blurry since I can do subharmonics and have a pretty nuts lower range in the mornings when I used to record bass for my acapella stuff. My RECORDED range is A0 - A6 But I always say my usable range is G2 - E5 since that's what I'm able to sing any time any day :) (unless I'm sick haha) For studio recordings I can usually go up to like A5 but I prefer to stay in the G2 - E5 area. With subharmonics I can usually go to around E1 / F1, but I'm also able to chest down to like A1/B1 in the mornings if I've been drinking the previous day haha Thanks for the question! This brought me back to the good ol' aca-days.

Hey, I need y'all to do something for me. Use this website and tell me what your vocal range is and your education/history of singing (ie: "I do not sing", "I took/take vocal lessons", "I sang in high school choir", "I sing professionally", etc/any mix of those) and please reblog because I don't have much reach and I really want a bigger sample size.

I was raised mormon (iykyk), got solos in jr high choir, and sang in high school choir (you had to audition for it) (no solos, though, because that teacher played favorites heavily). I never took vocal lessons and haven't done a 'real' performance since my last HS choir performance in 2007.
the vocal registers of all the iwg characters is very important to me
Achillean is a tenor, Ingressus is a baritone, A'arava (who you'll meet soon) is an alto, and Aegus is a bass.
i think its cool bc tenor and baritone are differences in tone, not range, unlike alto and soprano (although a baritone can usually sing lower notes than a tenor, and a tenor higher notes than a baritone) so their voices literally complement each other ahghghghghg
also take all this with a grain of salt idk music things i had to look this up on google
