Do you think Louis' vocals in the studio version of DLIYH were over processed? Do you think it's a deliberate choice because there are certain parts in the song where his voice sounds quite artificial. On the other hand, when he sings it live, his vocals are perfect and has that raw, organic sound.
The studio recording has been processed. It’s been tuned (like 99.9% of pop recordings) and cleaned.
We’re used to the live performances of DLIBYH, so the studio recording sounds different in comparison— more artificial. There is an auto tune effect. The voice will always sound different when mic’d in a studio and then processed. I think his voice in DLIBYH actually sounds less produced than in other recordings, like JLY or JHO, for instance. This recording is much cleaner than some of the One Direction recordings.
