So, this is my first art post on Tumblr and it's Vitis from @bewildered-angel's comic The Chosen One is Simply Too Large!
I also wanted to thank @gracieisgrowing for allowing me to use her as my reference. 🙏
Plant of the Day
Friday 12 July 2024
In this abandoned glasshouse the Vitis vinifera (grapevine) has survived without the protection of the glass but may not crop so prolifically. The planting technique was to place the roots outside the structure, and the vine was trained into the glasshouse through a gap near ground level. This allowed the root system to be mulched with manure outside while the stem could be trained for maximum grape production inside.
