My collaborator, who also is quite familiar with my solo work, recently reminded me that in my performances I often focus on and use the mouth. When she said it, I was surprised. I hadn’t considered that my mouth was prominent in so many pieces, especially in my career of (mostly) silent durational work. So I shifted through my documentation... and I see that I am in fact a little stuck on the mouth, even going back to some work that never made it into the larger public realm, or onto the website....
