To See is To Be. And. I want to See More of Me! Disability is just one part of a character. It can be a focus, or in the background or somewhere in between. It depends on the person. It depends on the disability. But it can always be a part of the story. So let’s see what that could look like in some of our favorite stories.Card Captor Sakura! What if Sakura was born blind? She still develops her 'Everything will be okay' mentality despite the additional challenges of navigating a world that was not built to accommodate her condition. Sakura's ability to utilize her cane translates into her ability to wield her magic staff. She is fully accepting of her role to capture the Clow Cards, which she can sense via vibrations in the world. When that fails, she uses her other senses and friends to capture the cards. Tomoyo is often Sakura's eyes, using her video drone to give Sakura a lay of the land. Kero would act as her guide "dog" in her day to day life. He's a golden retriever, Sakura swears. After every capture, Sakura take the time to review each card under her finger tips to get to know them. The cards in turn, transform into small statues for her to feel what they look like. Sakura hopes to become a Cardcaptor worthy of her new friends.
