Before & after lighting the virtual gallery. After block out & onto figuring out the art direction, I do a couple tests with lighting. Lighting really helps ground the style & gives me ideas on directing attention.
A selection of Paintings Available
Every piece in this collection starts the same way: with me crouched over a surface, pouring colored sand straight through my hands. There’s no stencil, no pre-drawn map — just a dialogue between gravity, movement, and intuition. The lines build one after another, shifting between symmetry and surprise, until they bloom into forms that echo both nature and technology. What you see here are paintings placed in a virtual room — a way to imagine how they might feel in a lived space. The textures, colors, and energy carry over, but each original work exists in the physical world, created through hours of layered pouring, shaping, and in some cases even fire. These originals are available, and I’d love for them to find the right homes. If one resonates with you, please use the contact form to inquire for details. Read the full article

This weighted blanket is supposed to alleviate my anxiety but it’s not working. . “Cold Soil Kettle” will be on view as a part of a virtual, immersive @scopeartshow booth with @mortalmachinegallery early next month. I’ve been working on this piece since late February and shipping it to the gallery yesterday had me feeling some stuff, in addition to being crushed by my own hubris. . The title refers to Cold Soil Road in Lawrenceville, NJ. I don’t know why, but I’ve designated the imagined end of that road to be this strange place inhabited by a huge subsection of the creatures I’ve made. Cold Soil finds its way into many of my titles. . . . #newcontemporaryart #fiberart #fiberartist #sculptureart #rhizosphere #biologyart #natureart #skeletonart #artsculpture #lace #scopemiami #virtualgallery #crochet #crochetersofinstagram #crochetaddict #amigurumi #textiledesign #textileart #weightedblanket #anxiety #anxiousartist (at New Orleans, Louisana) https://www.instagram.com/p/CIBcjRGn4FI/?igshid=pmjlrnv7x3ux

Kolaj Magazine, a full color, print magazine, exists to show how the world of collage is rich, layered, and thick with complexity. By remixing history and culture, collage artists forge new thinking. To understand collage is to reshape one's thinking of art history and redefine the canon of visual culture that informs the present.
