Summer’s end on Main Street in Front Royal, Virginia. These are the Glory Days for the baskets of Petunias and the planters around the gazebo and Visitor’s Center. The ice cream and candy shops have received a spiffy new coat of cotton-candy colored paint. Somehow this helps offset the garish blue of two doors down. That particular paint job excited quite a bit of negative comment when it was first applied, but the sweet shop’s cheerful new color scheme makes the saturated blue of their neighbor seem a bit more intentional.
