I adore Homicipher because I can write my dictionary in Viossa. I genuinely love the process of this as a linguistics enthusiast and the process of figuring out their language is so rewarding. Especially since Viossa is also "vague" or has less grammar rules than English, which actually matches the Homicipher conlang more.

I love how the more I figure out, the more inhuman I physically become; I'm assimilating into my surroundings and I'm no longer foreign. I even end up communicating with another human with the Homicipher language... It's such amazing storytelling; I'm becoming one of them.

I love that I can even post my dictionary of Homicipher language with Viossa translations because Homicipher teaches you language in the way Viossa is taught. Through interaction, pictures/diagrams, and asking. I love love love learning conlangs. This game is genuinely incredible and has so much replay value it's insane.

i dont post any stuff about linguistics on here but im a bit if a nerd and i heard about viossa recently and wanted join but bc of the overflow of new speakers into the discord, the invites are staggered.

so i was wondering if anyone would like to launch another discord like it

if you dont know what viossa is its pretty much a language a bunch if people built purely through trial and error. theres no translations you have to learn it through immersion and when they were making the language theyre rule was you cant speak english and if ur understood then it works?

after hearing about viossa/vjossa, an artificial pidgin language created on a discord server that disallowed english, i kinda want to see what might arise if you had a vintage story server that disallowed all chat, only allowing communication thru movement, emotes, and the like couple dozen symbols in the cave painting system. would the color used to paint the symbols convey meaning, or would that be seen as too gatekeeping of those who cant obtain the necessary materials? or perhaps this gatekeeping would be a feature. perhaps even the material that is painted on would convery its own meaning? lots of possibilities

I wonder if it is possible to create a Minecraft server with the rules of Viossa applied to the server's chat (aka No English Allowed and No Translating For Newcomers) and try to simulate civilizations at the same time.
