ITS FUCKING BONKERRRSSS like one of the top games that really has no right being this good considering how bad it is everr 😭 please don’t apologize for dr thoughts do you know. how little anyone in my life cares about this damn game. it’s zero. my beautiful mutuals are all i have left and i need to scream somewhere about how elegantly sdr2 presents hinata as like this kind of normal boy with some hangups but who is overall very confident and strong willed and then reveals in the end that he is actually the most fucked up person in this cast by a surprisingly wide margin. he’s like if the universe had looked at komaeda and said “you know what actually you CAN be special. we DO choose you. have fun” and then he successfully psychically killed himself and all he got was superdepression and this cool tshirt. like i said i think the concept of hinata on his own isn’t that compelling (he’s a shinji!) but put into the context of how the game paces itself out w him, developing this tension of who he is without the player realizing, comparing and contrasting him with komaeda & the rest of the kids whose favorite activity is self sacrifice, and just how & when the game chooses to show its hand w him…….. it’s literally fucking goooood it’s fucking good

i feel like my opinion on the sdr2 cast (minus hinata komaeda nanami trio they are all so important to me) flips between being unimpressed and completely enamored, bc even for characters i don’t love or who have more consistently bad writing looked at w a wide scope (tsumiki my fucking beloved they did you so bad.), everyone gets these moments or scenes of just jawdropping dialogue writing so i can’t help but be like. waow <3 waow <3 it’s like sdr2 is TRYING to be bad but there’s this supernatural force dragging the lagging components forward and forcing it into competency like i genuinely can’t think of how it happened except divine intervention. like in terms of making a plot actually Move the way it needs to i admit kodaka is very good at what he does and it’s just. man.

also ugh yes it does rlly struggle with writing grief that’s exactly it i’ve been trying to articulate why it sometimes lacks that oomph but yeah. i miss you asahina aoi and ishimaru kiyotaka for. no reason in particular haha ☹️ but even so….. even so!!!!! it’s good!!!!! and not just in a way of it being fun to analyze after the fact (well maybe it is that a bit i remember being so put off by ch3 motive when i first read it but whatever) it’s genuinely rlly enjoyable to move thru and watch how the cogs turn & how it sets itself up!!!!! like the story structure itself is steeped in mystery convention where it’s so careful about what to say and when and it rlly rlly works

Summary:

After a minute or so of this person staring at the medicine while Tubbo stared at them, he starts to get a bit bored. So, he clears his throat, and says in a conversational voice, “They sell pretty damn good Tylenol here, don’t they?” They jump, clearly taken aback by Tubbo’s appearance. They blink at him once before nodding slowly, clearing their throat. “Isn’t, uh, most Tylenol the- the same everywhere?” -- Tubbo is an accidental part of a kind-of family, worn tennis shoes firmly planted on the sidelines as a ticking time clock mocks the day his stolen life will crumble, shoved under the floorboards of his best friend's attic. In the waiting process, he meets a seventeen year old severely lacking in both memory and effective hair dye, who defines himself as the spaces between notebook pages and part-time jobs. Like this, Tubbo meets Ranboo, who, despite everything, may be Tubbo's most worthwhile pit stop in his journey to survival yet. (Or, a high school AU in which finding home and staying afloat are two tasks you can't shoulder at once, but there are other people who will carry the world with you, if you can muster the bitter task of giving it up first.)

HI MARE im free from academia for the day (FINALLY) so i can answer this yayayaayy

as of right now. and this is in album order And im about to list off like a good third of the album sorry in advance but: only girl living in la, dog years, letter to god 1974, letter to god 1983, darwinism, lonely is the muse, and life of the spider

first of all. only girl living in la is an INSANE way to start an album. Like i knew i was absolutely in for it seeing the track list and that we were Starting with a 6 minute long song i was like Oh she loves me specifically she knew id been tormented by songs that are 2 minutes long for too long. i dont think ive ever finished the first song on an album and been, like, scared to listen to the rest of it before (good thing)

dog years. i canteven say anything yet Like theres no words. probably one of my favorites out of my favorites

letter to god 1974 and letter to god 1983 are twins to me. (well triplets shoutout letter to god 1998 no disrespect to my girl its just the first two are my faves personally) Thank u halsey for addressing the "wanting to get really sick so people would pay attention to you" to "getting really sick and it turns out people kinda dont gaf if ur in ur 20s about it" pipeline

hometown- is anyone else trying so hard to escape their hometown or is it just me and halsey and gerard "i know im never getting out of belleville" way. also i love her voice on this one

darwinism- i was reading it as being about physical disability but apparently she said it was about neurodivergence either way is anybody else feeling ostracized from the rest of society or is it just me and halsey out here

lonely is the muse- INSANE FUCKING SONG vocally lyrically musically everything. when i found out there was gonna be a Whole Album and lonely is the muse was on it i realized i was going to die.and then i did. <3

life of the spider- i knew there was a tori amos song on the album and the one tori amos song im really familiar with is me and a gun so of course i was terrified .and i was right to be. love a song i cant listen to without having a panic attack one of my favorite genres. insanely haunting song i cant really listen to this one casually yet or possibly ever i have to like sit down and prepare. this morning i saw a spider in my bathroom and started crying. tomorrow more of the same. "favorite" not in the way where i listen to it a lot favorite in the way where i can barely listen to it at all

also one more thing i feel like in general the album is organized very well does that make sense. like the songs are in a specific order that is good and makes sense. only girl living in la -> ego -> dog years -> letter to god 1974 is an insane run of songs generally let alone first on the album but also it like. makes sense why theyre in that order. also darwinism -> lonely is the muse -> arsonist -> life of the spider i can say the same of. like yeah thats the exact order those songs should go in. this is really not a Shuffling Album to me at ALL theres a specific order they all go in and i really like that Bc half the time These Days it feels like everythings so focused on having 2 minute long songs with 15 second clips that blow up on tiktok that its always nice to have an album thats like. Ok thankgod they actually give a fuck about this and its not optimized for social media analytics
