“Robin!” someone shrieks and Damian turns, ready to fight, surely wondering why so many low-rank villains feel the need to announce their presence before an attack, but he instead finds a woman running toward him breathlessly.

Damian blinks and his stance loosens as he tries not to gape at her. “Is there a problem?”

She reaches his proximity and doubles over a moment, gasping, and Damian does his best not to scold her for wasting his time. He thinks of all the crime Gothamites are constantly facing, looking in himself for enough sympathy to exchange for patience. Flushed, she straightens up quickly and smiles and Damian is taken aback.

“Hi,” she says and Damian does not step away. He just…assesses his current situation.

“Problem?” he asks again.

Her expression changes to a pout. “Oh, yes,” she intones. “I have a horrible problem, Robin, and only you can solve it.”

“Get on with it then.”

“See?” she says, and she spreads her hands before her. “That’s my problem: we’re not getting it on.”

I watched two episodes of Iron Fist and stopped. I couldn’t take the torture. And yeah, the writing is horrible. Danny and the others are just….????? They make weird statements at weird times that are totally uncalled for. Did anyone proofread this script before hand?

it’s sad to say that the first two eps are actually the better part of this series >:D

You’ve done good dropping it. For real....it only gets way, way worse.

44. Two Roads

Damian is 30.

“You can’t.” Dick argued sorrowfully. “You can’t come with me, I won’t let you.”

“Beloved-”

“No, I won’t hear it.” Dick shook his head, turned away. “I won’t let the Court have you too, okay? I’m going to protect you. Protect the family. And you’ve...Damian, you’ve done so much to make your life better. To be accepted and loved and good...”

He felt Damian’s hand on his, let himself be turned back, his space invaded.

“I was only able to achieve any semblance of goodness with your help. Without you, surely I would falter.” Damian’s breath washed across his cheek as he lifted his hand to hold Dick’s face. “They say there are fates worse than death. Continuing in this life without you is surely one of them. Working for the Court is not.”

Dick leaned into his touch anyway. Let Damian pull him into a hesitant hug.

“I’m sorry.” Dick whispered into his neck. “I’m sorry the Court is invading our lives again. Taking our family from us. Threatening you. Forcing us to make choices we don’t want to, and do things we don’t want to and-”

“Whether we are heroes or villains, where you go, I go. And as long as I have you, I am content.” Damian hummed. “And I don’t regret that. I never have, and never will.”

“I couldn’t agree more.” Dick looked up at him, then wrapped his arms protectively around Damian’s hips. “...If any members of the Court so much as look at you, I’m taking them down. I swear.”

Damian laughed, even as Dick kissed his chin. Adoringly, still apologetically. 

OMG! How do you have the patience for this? All the detail! I'm crying just from looking at it.

Mmm, I feel like while Damian is trained as a Talon like the rest of them, and works with them and all that/is not special in that aspect, he’s held in a little higher regard because he is Bruce’s son. So I don’t think they’d be attached emotionally really, but Dick’s been trained his whole life to protect the grandmaster/Bruce. And once Damian was born, that protection was shifted to Damian as well. (Same with the other Talons. In any mission, the goal is always protect Bruce, and if worst comes to worst, make sure Bruce and Damian get out and are able to return to the leadership of the league.)

But Bruce is still top dog, so when Bruce says jump - or in this case, bring his son back into the fold by whatever means necessary - Dick says how high. And the younger ones are supposed to, but they all have their own ideas sometimes. They haven’t been brainwashed as long as Dick has.
