very old slenderverse art i drew when i think i was like 14-15. a little embarrassing to post but i don't care, these are fun to look back at

vinny, shaun/vinny, i think this is supposed to be eric or michael stealing shaun's glasses (?)

also a bonus "meme" that makes me cringe, but it needs to be shown to the world:

yesss vinshaun is something i started shipping when i was around 15 kinda like. in passing idk. and it's been in the back of my brain but sometimes it pops back out, and i've thought about how it'd work and stuff before and especially after an emh rewatch it's got me kinda thinking about it again. i don't quiiiite necessarily ship it romantically like i used to, but i still like it in general. you could see it platonic or romantic idc

the idea i think could take two paths, one where it happens at the HELLO/GOODBYE point, and one where it happens after sleeping dogs lie. the first would be an inversion of the original plot where the two somehow broke out together, instead of the culmination in which shaun dies and then vinny tries to leave. this one is a lot less realistic but it's the one i used to go with because i thought it was cool. escapees vs. habit trying to keep his cool

but the one i am interested in more i think is the idea of vinny running into shaun again after sleeping dogs lie, when vinny gets out of the apartment finally and habit leaves him on his own. now obviously in the canon shaun is dead. so you'd have to do either some kind of resurrection / soft-reset type deal like can happen to other people in the cycle, or an AU canon divergence where shaun survives. this would be another canon divergence. where instead of following habit's plan for him, or corenthal's plan for him, he takes his own alternate route entirely, while at the mercy of slenderman with no protection.

either way i think their relationship would be very co-dependent and toxic, at least at first. both of them would be right after essentially their lowest points in life, with shaun presumably surviving alone after being tortured and (nearly or completely) murdered and breaking off her last human connection (michael), and vinny having just gone through 2 years of being alone in an apartment and trying to kill himself. it would be very slow i think, with both of them not really trusting each other but slowly relying on each other for support more and more. it'd be super bendy and unstable as a relationship

but i think i am invested in them because of the roles both take as a bystander, ie, their parallels but also their differences that make them unique. vinny is the voyeur, he's a bystander but in the sense of showing selective information, in pushing to show more and more even at the cost of exploitation, including of himself. shaun meanwhile is a hider. doesn't open up, doesn't show shit doesn't talk about shit. but both are not so much the type to act directly, moreso stand at an emotional distance... to their own detriments, in both cases. both feeling like in some sense they are wearing masks, they are hiding their true natures and personalities on camera, but where one wants to hide behind that camera as a shield, the other wants to be away from it as much as possible.

it would be very codependent. they're both beaten broken down people who'd curl around each other for protection and bite anyone that gets too close. it'd be an eschewing of their destinies, a complete pivot into something different, something they both desire but that might just doom the world because of their inaction. it probably does not have a good ending. but we can believe. <3
