I downloaded this yesterday to use on my Mac.
First note - unlike most mac software - don't just drag the file into applications. Otherwise you'll just end up with a 2Mb file called "Welcome" sitting there that does nothing.
But once I actually read the installation instructions - always a bonus, reading vs just clicking away! - and double-clicked the file vs just dragging it, everything installed properly.
I haven't used it much yet, but so far I'm impressed. Obviously it's going to read my NEF files - It's from Nikon after all! - but also, I found that it does color histograms. Normally I'm just use to the "overall" one, but this does all 4 color channels plus brightness. Neato.
Oh and it lets me see where my focus point was? Holy cow. Cool! Well kinda - I switched to manual focus on a lot of these shots so it doesn't show up on those.
I haven't a use for the movie editor yet. I don't usually do that anyway, but I was shooting with a D40 and that doesn't have a video option anyway. The closest I have is continuous shot - although that may work well for roller derby, especially if I use the special battery-pack my BF rigged up for the flash.
But pretty much... this program is neat. And I can use it to batch-convert NEF into Tiff or JPG.
Oh but the most important thing.... it's free. =D
