Apparently Tobi was at the “storm area 51″ gathering
did i dream this or is there an island in greece where people burn trash like all the time and it's a really bad health hazard but ljke the government won't or can't help? i stg i saw like a vice doc on it or something like that
I didn’t know about this so I had to search it but yeah you are right, it’s a vice documentary about an illegal landfill in Kalymnos island. I watched the whole documentary and it is interesting how guilty / uncomfortable the mayor looks despite claiming he has no part in this. Anyway, he’s right to blame the government more than anything, Greece indeed has a problem with modernizing waste management. It kinda makes sense for it to be a tough challenge, given the peculiarites of the Greek landscape, but it’s 2019 and such tough problems should be solved by now. Imagine if the greek government ever did its job, eh?
Here’s the article and the doc. I recommend it, it’s well-rounded and not nihilistic, it shows both the bad and the good side of the beautiful island.
Hiding from the cold watching Vice documentaries on a Saturday afternoon. This one in particular caught our eye, because we've all heard about the massive floating trash islands far out at sea.
It started out as expected…..
The plan was simple. Travel with a group of scientists to the middle of the Pacific ocean and get the "money shot" of the island.
Of course they collect plastic scraps from the ocean along the way…
In every form you can imagine….
Tiny particles of plastic pellets, bags and glitter cover the divers after every dive.
When we think of plastic in the ocean, we always imagine it as scraps that can be easily seen and collected.
But as this documentary shows, that "money shot" is going to be hard to come by, because plastic inevitably photodegrades and breaks down….
And though it may not be visible at first sight, plastic has irreversibly changed the biological integrity of our oceans. It has broken down and become part of it, in the form of a toxic sludge.
Check out this 3-part VICE documentary, Toxic Garbage Island, an eye-opening investigation into how plastic pollution is irreversibly changing the integrity of our ocean water.

A small part I found interesting was the crew’s acknowledgement of their plastic habit when eating and preparing food on the boat. They all seemed to feel trapped in a system where plastic cannot be avoided. I remember experiencing the same malaise before changing my lifestyle with guidance from zero waste pioneers like Bea Johnson.
It goes to show that the excessive toxicity of consume-and-toss culture has long-term consequences, and so we must be open to at least a little self-control when we consider our purchases and the waste we toss away, and take into consideration that there is no “away.” Every step of the recycling and waste process eventually sends our waste to the oceans.
So let’s cut the cycle guys!! If we can cut the packaging and stop buying products made from synthetic materials, we can manage to keep a lot out of the oceans.

VICE - South Korea’s Seoul Fashion Week (Fashion Influence & Kpop) Mini Documentary
I felt the need to post this video, this early morning to coincide with my experience that happened last night. It is vital for you to understand, that this video is strictly for entertainment. Not everything in this video is 100% factual, as well. However, it does present several very valid points. This is a mini documentary created by a few of my friends of Vice Productions in which I also put in a bit of helping hand to produce (no, I am not in the film). I feel it is important to listen and take heed of what some of my friends, like Donald the barber, and stylist Sang, have to say about the fashion industry as well as the Kpop industry. Also, please acknowledge that I am NOT associated with any of the groups or agencies that are featured in this film.
