it's super unfun for her. she hates water, especially when it is covering like 98% of what used to be land. dying in the water is the worst because you drown over and over and every time you wake up you only get so far before you die again and getting anywhere takes forever and you lose direction really quickly etc etc. plus the guilt and all that from the hundreds of years that quynh/noriko spent trapped underwater it's just like. the worst way the world could almost but not quite end.

that being said, she has been around for thousands and thousands and thousands of years. she knows everything about boats, sailing, navigation. she knows how to live off the land (or the water) she can make clothes and weapons and houses and boats and nets and can forge glass and metal, she can grow and cook just about anything, she can design irrigation and rain traps and like -- anything at all that might be useful for survival.

she doesn't get sick and heals from anything so diseases and all of that that comes with declining population and lack of 'modern' conveniences and medicines don't bother her personally she can also eat and drink anything even if it's poisonous or irradiated it might just suck getting sick or dying from it - she can also just starve and die of thirst or hunger and come back so there's really not a lot that isn't just INCONVENIENT or annoying about the state of the world

she definitely has at least one island somewhere that she and whatever other immortals have survived live. they don't really leave it much for a slew of reasons but every dozen or two years andy will venture out to see what's happening in the hellscape that is the world and see if there's people left, if there's any sign of return of land or civilization etc. occasionally her ship gets wrecked or what the fuck ever and she ends up stuck on an atoll or catching a ride with someone to an atoll until she can trade or earn a boat of her own to go back.

they never bring mortals back. it's just too dangerous for them.

the parts of things that are my mixed canon that include phel's relationship with andy, phel's little narnia pantry of food, herbs, grain etc. is still a thing but per usual all those headcanons don't tend to directly influence roleplay unless you wanna plot / scheme something out.

i do suggest reading through her headcanons in general though!

Also he has a 'dark' merc verse that fits pretty much any verse / au ever which could work for all sorts of things including like mcu or dc / gotham in general -- with the potential to be won over to fighting for the good guys for the right cause ie remind him he actually does care about his honor, humanity, pay him well enough until he remembers those things or like.. seduce him to your side (though that goes for good to bad or bad to good in pretty much any verse).

the star wars universe takes place ‘a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away’ so even though it’s ‘futuristic’ it’s technically all ancient history.  

there’s three main settings for the movies at least.  the prequel trilogy, the original trilogy and the sequel trilogy.  for my blogs there’s also the old republic, which predates all of the movies.

the old republic was thousands of years before and was the peak era of the Force users - basically ... space wizards. there’s ‘good’ and ‘bad’; the light side and the dark side of the Force.  good / light side users are generally Jedi; an ancient civilization that takes in children of all species and teaches them to channel peace and balance and are raised to serve as guardians, ambassadors, peace keepers (and protectors when need be) of the galaxy.  ‘bad’ / dark side users are typically the Sith.  they tend to be driven by what we consider negative emotions and while they have had whole empires they tend to be pretty back stabby and treacherous and as an entity tend to be pretty self sabotaging.  (plus, being homicidal and genocidal tend to not make you a lot of friends.)  they can also be pretty speciest depending on the era.  

the old republic was pretty much the peak of the Force users, with Jedi and Sith pretty prevalent.  civil wars happened, the galaxy kinda went to shit and over time the force users kinda dwindled down in numbers, and it was believed that the Sith were predominantly killed off. 

there’s a lot of different names for the galactic governments over the millennia.  in prequel era was predominantly ruled by The Galactic (or the Old) Republic.  this ends up being turned into (”legally” of a sorts) into The Empire, whereas the opposition to the Empire is called the Rebellion. Eventually this is ‘freed’ from the Emperor’s grasp and becomes the New Republic.  in the sequels, the New Republic is opposed by The First Order, which is attempting to take back control and is secretly controlled by the Emperor (spoilers I guess, who is not actually dead).  

the policies on slavery, trade monopolies, piracy and what not tend to fluctuate pretty broadly depending on who is in charge.  

there’s a few other groups of note (okay there’s more than a few but i’m trying to keep this brief).  the Hutt Empire is one of the most notorious for black market items and controlling the drug, weapons and slave trade.  (also, they’re giant slugs.)  the Mandalorian’s role varies based on the era but they’re pretty significant too.  the Bounty Hunters are a whole galactic guild and there’s a lot going on there.  there’s also other species / planets that hold monopolies or a pretty tight chokehold on certain things such as cloning, ship manufacturing etc. depending on when you are in the timeline.  

there’s also ‘the clones’; an army of (millions? trillions? idk) clones based off of jango fett, one of the most elite bounty hunters ever.  these clones were created (supposedly) to serve as allies to and soldiers for the Jedi during the prequel trilogies (and the show the clone wars) to help stamp out rebellion and to keep the galaxy at peace while the separatist’s were protesting and various other dramas were going on.  in reality (spoilers) the clones were actually designed for the primary purpose of Order 66, an edict issued by the Emperor in the end of the prequels to eradicate all of the Jedi, leaving Palpatine, a secret Dark Lord of the Sith unopposed to rule the galaxy and do whatever he saw fit.  some of the clones were able to resist, or had their chips removed; some survive.  the whole thing is very unhappy making as they were only created to kill and die and had a shorter life span and in general there wasn’t every really plans in place for them to retire or live a normal life because it was expected they would just all die in the name of the Republic/Empire but anyways.  yeah those guys are pretty important too.

there’s alllll kinds of alien races.  some humanoid some not.  all colors, shapes, sizes, moral alignment, histories, etc.  there are also droids, with varying degrees of awareness and personality.

She may not have been born on the Southside of Riverdale, but she wasn’t much of a Northsider either. In fact, she didn’t know where she belonged ? Once, raised for a while in the Northside of Riverdale, until hitting the age of 6. Parents Hal Cooper & Alice Cooper marriage fails when Hal discovers that his wife is very much still in contact with the Southside Serpents. Alice not being able to let go of who she is, her past and never did. It’s part of her. And she’s proud of it. She had made up excuses how she was working late-nights at the Register when really, her mom drove over to the Southside, Serpent Jacket clinging to her body where it belonged. Doing her duty as a South Side Serpent. Hal had enough of Alice’s double life and had her choose. It was either her father or the Serpents, and her mother chose the Serpents.

They settled on a divorce, Joint Custody of the kids. Alice moving to the Southside of Riverdale, and Hal staying in The Northside. Soon enough, the children become more involved in the Southside life. Following in their mothers’ footsteps. Coopers had a falling out, Chic and Polly don’t get along with Hal since when visiting, they would proudly show off their Serpent jackets. He didn’t accept them becoming part of that life. Won’t accept it. Polly & Chic favor their mother over their father and don’t make time to visit him. Unlike Betty, who finds herself in the middle of it all. Though she prefers living with her mother, and once refused to visit her father and would once meet him at Pop’s. Eventually, as she grew up, the guilt of leaving her father alone, coursed through her veins. And by the age of 16, made a decision to start staying at her fathers home, from time to time. ( soon enough she begins to visit him a little too often. ) Betty becomes part of the Serpents at the age of 16, wanting to be more committed and to make her mother proud. She wants to become part of something. Having to go through the Serpents initiation, just like every Serpent had. Going through the four stages just like those before her. Her mother, brother, and sister, and now her. 

Memorizing the Serpent Law, Retrieve the knife from the Rattlesnake cage, & lastly, the Gauntlet. Chic is the one to hand Betty her Serpent Jacket since it was his idea in the first place to have Betty involved. Saying ‘family stick together!’ Reminding her if she isn’t a Serpent, she’s just like their father. An outsider. Betty is mostly seen fixing cars, as a hobby of hers ! She likes to drown herself into. Not only is it a hobby, but she fixes her car for big races that are to come. Racing, being free. It keeps Betty from thinking too much of her family issues and keeps her from spiraling out of control. It’s her escape from the Southside, the Northside, and her family when things are getting too much for her to handle. It also helps her from harming herself [ TW: SELF-HARM ] — Betty has the tendency to dig her nails into her palms. Hurting herself when everyone decides to take it out on her, or tug-a-war at her. Deciding her life for her, making her promise she won’t ever betray them. She’s living a double life, just as her mom had once upon a time. But unlike her mother, she can’t handle it. Pretending to be what everyone wants you to be. The southside princess, or the girl next door. That’s not her only problem. Her father drinks often. He’ll curse the names of her mother and sister & brother, for abandonment. Blaming her in his drunken state. Insulting the Southside with deep hatred. Letting the world know just how much he loathed the Serpents. And how no son or daughter of his, is going to be part of such a thug-life. Already disowning his sister and brother. ( Which is the reason why she hides her jacket from him. afraid her father will disown her if he found out. ) The thought of displeasing her mother or her sister also send Betty off the charts, increasing the anxiety in her chest. She doesn’t know where she belongs at this point ? or what to do. She’s stuck in the middle of her own family war. Being torn apart. And with racing, it takes her mind off of that, with fixing her car, it takes her to her own little world. Where she can just be Betty Cooper, and no one else.
