why are we still using talk tags? i get the admin perspective and the dopamine rush every time someone does something in service of your group, but i never got the benefits for applicants? â other than like, getting on an adminâs good side?
admins shouldnât need to sort out every tiny conflict between members. if something escalates, involves more than 2 people, or reconciliation does not work then itâs time for an admin to be called in to mediate. especially if itâs an 18+ group â weâre all adults here, the least we can do is act like it
if youâre too uncomfortable to message an admin privately about an issue youâre having â ooc or ic â maybe that group isnât for you?
if you know as an admin (in a competitive rp; not appless) youâre going to be biased towards your friends in the app review process, let them pick their characters before hand! this also goes for if theyâve significantly helped with the writing, development, or admin process. reward your friends! establish that this group is going to have members from the get go! donât make us compete with people youâre going to favor anyways!

I was in a HP group once where they had a veritaserum event with all the characters trapped together and no warning or opt-out. It felt so insanely god-moddy and the admin(s?) flipped out and tanked the group after the inevitable polite pushback of having all of everyone's character secrets outed??

HoH person here, I think the distinction with d/Deaf/HoH faceclaims lies in cultureâ of youâre writing a character who is Deaf cultured, it would be most appropriate to use a Deaf cultured faceclaim but if youâre writing someone who is deaf/HoH but not part of Deaf culture then any faceclaim would be appropriate. Obviously I donât speak for everyone but thatâs what Iâve heard around?

Itâs pretty much just groups either about people who enjoy that lifestyle or set in universes where that lifestyle is the norm. They can be v smut heavy or have very little smut, but theyâre usually v sex positive for obvious reasons and can deal with a great amount of interesting topics like power balance (or unbalance), emotional vs physical intimacy, government oppression and so on. Itâs my favorite type of group.
