“If you think you’re not friendly enough, you should meet Venom.” That might sound a bit odd, he should probably explain, right? It’s not like he doesn’t know who this guy is - any journalist worth his salt knows who the umbrella academy is. “He’s uh. My parasite.”

No, Eddie!! Venom is not a parasite! Apologize!

The creature screams into Eddie’s mind which results in Eddie sighing. “Venom, no, i’m not gonna -”

The creature seems to take that as his cue to make himself known in the form of a black goey ball that’s attached to Eddie’s shoulder. 

Apologize!!!

“Jesus christ, alright! I’m sorry I called you a parasite, you’re obviously an alien. Jesus - happy?”

SOFT CARING STARTERS

Status: ACCEPTING

“Mhm. Pretty comfortable, right?” Grabbing ahold of the bowl of popcorn and the tv remote, Eddie finds his way next to Elliot to sit down beside him, above the blankets instead of under them with him. Whatever movie Elliot has picked out, Eddie isn’t sure, but he presses play nonetheless.

That is when Venom tries to cut in, in his head.

What is he doing here, Eddie? Make him go home.

“What? No. Shut up.” Eddie grumbles under his breath which causes them to give a low growl in response. Eddie gives an eye roll in return - his symbiote is acting like a toddler and honestly? Eddie will not entertain them. 

I’m allowed to have friends, Venom! Look just enjoy the movie and the popcorn.

Oh, this is bad. This is very bad. Venom has deemed this man as a threat even when Eddie’s pretty sure that this one VERY HUGE MISUNDERSTANDING. They don’t have some sort of beef with this guy, Venom had only wanted something to eat and it was the wrong place, wrong time.

The sight of Venom seems to have set the other man on edge,. he’s got some sort of fireball? What the hell, is that magic? Whatever, doesn’t matter, all the matters is that Venom is about ready to KILL HIM.

And John taunting Venom ISN’T THE BEST THING TO DO. 

Everyone can die. I can kill you. I will eat you.

And without a chance for John to respond, a long tongue stretches out and presses down over the fireball to put it out. Then he is dragging his tongue along the other’s cheek - a silent warning before the tongue is yanked back as Eddie grows more and more panicked.

INJURY/HURT STARTERS

Status: ACCEPTING

The sound of mutters and panicked cries of a nightmare brings Eddie (and Venom) out of their slumber. They must have fallen asleep next to Jason sometime during the night after having spent hours going over some sort of investigation Eddie was working on.

Eddie, is Jason hurt?

“No, buddy, I think he’s just having a nightmare.” Eddie says quietly as he moves closer to Jason, hesitantly reaching out to him - is it a good idea to wake up.

Eddie’s gaze softens at the other man’s words - he has never once thought about Bucky as a monster. Dangerous? Sure. A danger to him or Venom? Never. Nevermind the fact Venom would tear him apart but Eddie doesn’t think it’d ever get that way because Bucky cares about him, he’s not some monster, and Eddie cares about him too. “Hey, don’t talk about yourself like that. You’re not a monster.”

Venom decides to make himself known, too, black tendrils appearing from Eddie’s form to form into a blob with razer sharp teeth and white pupilless eyes. The creature moves forward to bump his head against Bucky’s shoulder in an attempt to comfort him and soon, he is speaking up.

Oh! Venom doesn’t like this. He can feel the symbiote under his skin, moving tendrils but not quite making himself known yet. The blood-thirst is obvious to Eddie though, it increasingly gets worse as Eddie tilts his head back but doesn’t fight Natasha much.

We’ll kill her, Eddie.

“Am I a monster?” It is NOT a question that comes from Eddie, but instead Venom, who slithers out from underneath Eddie’s skin to make himself known. A question that takes the Host COMPLETELY BY SURPRISE. 

Maybe others would view the symbiote as a monster but Eddie does not. Whether Lana does or not, Eddie doesn’t know, and while he can FEEL Venom wants Lana’s approval, Eddie will do his best to soothe and assure his symbiote.
