Very excited to present the first review in The Forest of Yum!   Today my love and I took a walk to the trees where we had the pleasure of tasting Funguy Mushroom Jerky by Mean Vegan Products.   Funguy Mushroom Jerky is made of portobello mushrooms- which I had never tried in dried form- thus, I did not know what to expect in terms of texture.  Though initially tough to the touch, we were surprised by the slight give in the bite.   Although there were only two flavors- sweet and spicy & mellow and smoky- I decided to order the sweet and spicy to begin with. Taste wise, this jerky reminded us a lot of the taste of meat jerky (from before our plant based days).  Pleasantly umami in taste with a hint of more sweetness and a slight kick of cayenne pepper (but nothing that will make you crave gallons of water afterwards).  We wished the packet was bigger because it was so good! I highly recommend this to other plant based eaters.   Funguy Mushroom Jerky is available for purchase on a number of websites- though I personally went with Vegan Essentials (my package was even shipped the day after I ordered!).
