Alexander Potts, "Painting and the Substance of Things"
Alex Potts teaches Art History at the Universitty of Michigan. He is best known for his work on Winkelmann and on modern sculpture. This is the first of three lectures in a series entitled Experiments in Realism, given at NYU’s Institute of FIne Arts in 2010. The series is concerned with “realist ambitions” in the art of the mid 20th century.
