Ok I’m just going to come out and say it. The romance between Thalia and Varkas doesn’t make sense. Like at all to me. I know we are supposed to see the relationship between the two as something tragic and toxic what was supposed to make us wish things could have been different if they were born into better circumstances. I personally have mixed feelings about Thalia on one end I feel really sorry her and I genuinely want her to be better. On the other end I just dislike her and am genuinely frustrated by her. I understand that Thalia is someone that absolutely had a difficult life. She wasn’t protected by the people that were supposed to protect her. But when the story begins she is a grown woman literally out here hitting and abusing people and she’s literally here trying to poison Ayla which news flash never really did anything to her! That was Gareth! Let’s not compare Ayla and Gareth to each other they may be twins but they are their own people. You are honestly expecting me to believe that Varkas a person who was subjected to horrific amounts of abuse himself is love with a girl that is literally out here abusing other people?! Realistically Varkas should want nothing to do with her at all. Like he agreed to marry Thalia after she suffered a horrible incident that left extremely injured which was also by the way orchestrated by Thalia’s OWN MOTHER god I hate Thalia’s mother so much like I wanted to slapped the shit out that women. And he agrees to marry her because he was in love with her along? Seriously? And you expect me to believe that Varkas’s attitude towards Ayla is justified?! Like BOY! Make it make sense because it doesn’t Ayla literally has never done anything to Thalia at all for Varkas to act all mad and suspicious. In fact Varkas should be suspicious of Thalia the one that is literally here hurting others. And Varkas is actually SEEING her hurt people. Like what did this servant girl even do to Thalia?! We have her literally hurt people with no genuine justifiable reason. Something that annoys me is that Thalia is here saying of course Varkas likes Ayla she is beautiful, kind and perfect unlike me. Well yeah girl realistically he should like Ayla more because she isn’t the one abusing the people around her. At least Thalia is somewhat self aware of that. Varkas doesn’t have to be in love with Ayla but he should feel some sort of protectiveness or positive emotion towards her. Like what does Thalia even like about Varkas apart from the one time that he was nice to her when they were children, maybe his looks or the fact that he is Ayla’s fiancé. And what does Varkas even like about Thalia like apart from her beauty she is literally out her hitting him and insulting him and his people and literally poisoned Ayla that literally did nothing to her if she is going to poison someone let it be Gareth the one that actually makes since. People say that Varkas loves Thalia because she brought color into his world. Like when was this? When they were kids? Realistically any sort of relationship or feelings that Varkas had towards Thalia should have died as they grew older as Thalia became more hateful, dangerous, self-destructive, and abusive towards others. Like I am reading the manhwa and starting to read the novel and seriously where exactly is the development! Honestly it just feels like the author is just putting these together just because. If you going to make a tragic romance between two people please make it make sense give them actual development. I know if I was Varkas in his perceptive I would want nothing to do with Thalia especially since she tried to poison Ayla like I would cut off any relationship with her after that. And you can not tell when that Varkas hates Gareth but is so in love with Thalia when they literally do the same thing. These two being together does not make sense to me. Like make it make sense to me please. Give me actual character development for these two. But what do you think? Please share your thoughts.

It was hard not to draw Varkas with a smirk, but as i stated before he does not know how to smile XD And I went a bit random with the rings and some details, I'll just have to refine all that later on~
