khaos and maestro literally being the same cookie is a pretty well established fact at this point, but if you pay very close attention, it's painfully obvious in the little ways they mirror each other.
this includes but is not limited to:
their body language. head tilts. batting eyelashes. tipping their head back to give off the illusion that they're looking down on people they don't respect. ( which is more or less everyone. )
vocalizations. clicking, chirping, hissing and so on. they both make the same strange octopeese sounds. they also both speak r'lyehian, which maestro used to trash talk khaos at one point. it's kind of sad, because that is the closest either of them have ever come to having an actual conversation in that particular language ( which is something they both deeply yearn for ) — but they hate each other too much to actually sit down and talk.
speech patterns. stretching out words, fondness for alliteration, spelling out abbreviations, etc. hmpf instead of hmph, eugh instead of ugh. they also have the same laugh.
in general, you can see a lot of bits of maestro in khaos' personality. he tends to come off very indifferent and above it all, but that's because he's just putting on an act — he thinks himself a god, and he also thinks that's how a god should conduct himself. but the moment he actually starts getting annoyed or invested in the conversation at hand, the maestro in him starts to come out. the core personality is the same for both.
khaos is also uniquely suited to the whole hivemind arrangement and he struggles CONSIDERABLY less to maintain control over the beasts and the ultimate cookie compared to canon ultismilk. his mind was made to contain a near infinite amount of information by design — stuffing a few extra consciousnesses in there doesn't really bother him at all. if he really wanted to, he could continue assimilating more beasts from other timelines without much risk — the one thing stopping him is his insistence that he only uses "material" from timelines nearly identical to his own. additionally, his natural immunity to cognitohazards gives him an extra layer of protection against corruptive influences. the ultimate cookie is still able to poison his mind to a certain degree because it's already literally gotten INSIDE of his head, but it's not as severe as it otherwise would be. it's a very slow burn.
honestly, it's kind of a good thing that he split himself in two because taking out his self-loathing on maestro has given him something to fixate on instead of tearing through the rest of the multiverse.
