They'd heard the tales passed down through the generations, they'd done research, and they'd trained meticulously.
They thought they were at least mostly prepared to meet the first vampire of this world. Boy were they wrong.
Though they had prepared for a powerful, psychopathic, bloodlusting leader of the old army, he still caught them off guard when he awoke.
The very scrawny man opened his ruby eyes. Accidentally dropping his spellbook and staff, he took in his surroundings for the first time in centuries. He was rather disoriented as he began to speak in a meek and humble voice. "E-Excuse me... Do... D-Did we succeed? Did we save the world?"
