danny leaning into pretending to be Anything But A Ghost with the bats, but he goes with a different story for each bat/person and none of them put together that the potential fae at damian’s school, the hot vampire twink that jason has been flirting with, the Meta coffee shop employee Tim sees at his favorite shop, the alien kid that showed up in Metropolis, the possible demon that has been following the bats, the strange mer like being spotted in the harbor, he knows he's too uncanny to pass for human so he'll just play into *any* misconceptions, so long as they think he's anything but a ghost they would have no reason to think he was actually a ghost!

You do do stuff right? Idk I'm tired and I think you do, so take this you don't get a choice, Danny somehow managing to be mistaken for 2 different non human creatures while still somehow not being known as a ghost. How you ask? Well he had to get ecto somehow, and it just happens that, other than using the thermos to collect it, he can get ecto from blood, and Jason happens to be both high in ecto and down to flirt with this presumed vampire twink. And for the other? Well he had to stay somewhere, and his obsession called for the void of space, but he couldn't do that, so he gave it the next best thing, the deep void of the water, it's not his fault his form naturally shifted to more sea like, and it certainly isn't his fault that Tim was nosey while also being lonely enough his core instinctively tried to help the unparented child and he subconsciously accepted!
Long story short Danny has been staying in the harbor/bay which got the attention of Tim, who was persistent and ended up possibly unknowingly core bonding with Danny, so he if fraide now, he is kid, but during the night, Danny has been leaving the harbor to get ecto and Jason just happens to have a surplus of the stuff while being completely ready and willing to act out some crappy vampire romance with this dude and oops Danny got a hot boyfriend now. Somehow, Bruce doesn't know what Danny in either way, likely due to the severe interference from Jason and mostly Tim to make sure he never hears of it.
Unusual problems require unusual solutions
Dc x dp, dead on main
....
Danny core ached with hunger. His open wounds from his escape left him trapped as Phantom, body instinctively knowing that turning back was a death sentence. It only compounds his problem though, core unable to go dormant to save what little energy he has left.
Danny came to Gotham because he had hoped to feed and heal on the unusulually concentrated ambient ecto, but it was so impure his body refused to absorb it. Out of desperation, he goes into the polluted waters of the harbor, hoping at least some ecto from the waters would absorb through his still open wounds. It kinda works. He's still hungry but he won't starve to end if he stays in the bay.
As a distraction, Danny swims, exploring the bay and it's network of underground caves. Trash he thinks he can use goes to a small cavern that he's claimed for himself. Countless corpses and bits of human are bundled in makeshift shrouds and carefully buried under piles of small rocks. It's not much, but at least it's more of a grave than being dumped into the polluted waters like trash.
Over time Danny's body changes. His Hazmat suit tightens and fuses to his nearly skeletal body, becoming sleek, scales that shimmer with the color of oil slick in the right light. Shear ghostly fins flow from his forearms. His hands become webbed. Finally his tapered off flying form becomes a long scaley tail, slightly flattened at the end to aid propulsion in the waters.
Danny floats beneath the surface, invisibly watching a dock worker. The worker had cut himself on something, a few drops of blood sinking into the water and drawing him in with the mouthwatering scent of ectoplasm laced blood.
Danny's humming some half remembered tune, it projects bone deep tiredness and the feeling of pure safety. He just wants a little taste, to see if it tastes as good as it smells, nothing more.
The worker collapses, falling into the water and pulled away to Danny's hideout before anyone can react. Danny tilts the man's head to the side, feeling the clam pulse.
The bite goes deeper than intended, sweet ecto rich blood gulped down greedily. Danny starts at the skipping pulse, horrified. He seals the wounds with some ice, rushing to shove the man back on the docks before he tucks back into his cave. His core still feels starved, but he has ecto reserves again!

Notes
I know you requested Jason and Tim, but I feel like this is a good start. I'm kinda into this idea, but no guarantees.
Summary: Danny arrives, sees something Concerning, meets Batman, tries not to fight Batman. Nope not going to rogue it up here, no thank you.
Relationships: Bruce Wayne & Danny Fenton, John Constantine & Danny Fenton
for context, phenes are letters in Ghostwriting, and you can do necromantic magic with them if you know how
As soon as he's within a five mile vicinity of Gotham, Danny has to stop and deeply consider his afterlife decisions.
PhantomMenace: what the FUCK is wrong with this place.
PhantomMenace: John.
PhantomMenace: I know you know how many generational curses are set in the very foundations. And not the abusive cycle kind.
PhantomMenace: who had the goddamn PATIENCE for this
PhantomMenace: who carves THIS MANY phenes into THAT MUCH wet concrete??
PhantomMenace: we'd have to blow up the whole city to unfuck this!!
PhantomMenace: when I find whoever did this I don't know if I'm going to kill them a second time, or make out with them immediately
PhantomMenace: they've clearly ascended to levels of spite I can only dream of, I've to at least respect that
God's Favorite Whore: For my sake I hope you kill them. Gross.

Night time in Gotham is beautiful, even without the view of the stars.
Danny finds himself exploring from the rooftops. Old Gothic architecture spins for miles; spidering out from the tallest buildings are gargoyles reminiscent of what he knows of cathedrals. Below him, the city comes alive in a flurry of motion.
The cars slow to a trickle, but foot traffic picks up. Well-dressed people in their 20s hit the bars, swaying and laughing with their friends. Danny takes note with a smile that they're all armed, and at least one person in each group seems to be as sober as a stone. Keeping safe and having fun.
The night workers hit the streets, and little skinny kids of all ages weave in between bodies like leaves in flowing water. Handing off things Danny can't see to the people on the street corners, laughing and joking and pushing each other, never straying too far to allies or the side of the road. Not ever being without at least one other. It's sad to see they have to protect each other like that, but that's life, and it seems they're living it.
Blob ghosts make unseen mischief. There's a second layer of traffic - blobs spinning a foot in the air above everyone else, catching stray emotions and fat and happy off the ambient ectoplasm. Danny's never seen any blob in a color other than radioactive green, but the ones in Gotham are all different shades of red. He wonders if the curses here might be a factor. And if his condenser will be stained red from now on.
Danny spots something strange the longer he looks. He slips off the edge of the building, walking down its side to the alley below. He slips into partial invisibility to not startle anyone not already looking for him, and peaks out the mouth of the alley.
Shades walk down the streets side by side with the human Gothamites. They give the human-looking ghosts a wide berth, but otherwise no one acknowledges them. He tracks the figures with his eyes, hating the blank look in each of them. He's sure that they're not even properly looking at anything. They go through anyone and everything in their paths intangibly. He sees several people shiver and look around confused, before walking off, visibly more tired looking than before.
Danny unclips his condenser from his belt to check if his dinner's ready. He startles a bit at the unfamiliar red, but shrugs. He's hungry. The blobs are having a blast despite how evil the air is. He should be fiiiine.
Taking a deep gulp, Danny returns his attention to the Shades, wary of what this new behavior means. He quickly does a rough count of humans, and then the strange Neverborns in the street. And oh boy. He does not like how the math is mathing.
In a normal, healthy population, there should only be one Shade per fifty humans. In Gotham? It's nearly one to one. He's never seen or heard of this. Danny wonders exactly how many people get mysteriously sick, or die of "natural causes" here.
Once he gets settled in, he'll have to go looking for the cause. Even in a crime ridden big city this isn't normal.
Danny takes another sip as he tears himself away from the mouth of the alley. He becomes fully visible as he steps into the shadows. He means to float up to the rooftops again, but a dull thump behind him has him zipping around on instinct.
Between him and the exit, a broad shouldered man rises from his feet. At first Danny thinks he's covered in shadows, but as his eyes quickly readjust to the level of light, he realizes that the man is just wearing a long dark cloak with a cowl. It covers his head and half his face, with two white beams of light staring impassively at him. It hurts to look at to be honest.
Danny tenses like a springtrap. John never gave him descriptions of any of the rogues, OR the bats. He doesn't know what he's dealing with right now, and he'd really rather not get into a brawl tonight. Humans don't do that to be friendly.
"Where did you get the blood?" The man demands. His voice is obviously modified to be deeper, but Danny thinks it might be naturally growly and inflectionless, as the man's body language or expression doesn't change.
He doesn't really think before he responds. The question throws him, okay? "Uh? Synthesizer?" Danny shakes his condenser some. It's only half full, so it only sloshes thickly against the sides instead of spilling. Suddenly feeling self-conscious about it, Danny caps it and reclips it to his belt.
He extends a hand to shake. "Name's Dante Nightingale. But people call me Danny."
The incredibly rude man doesn't shake his hand, OR introduce himself. All he gets in response is a minute head tilt that in other circumstances he would find adorable.
He rolls his eyes. "This is the part where you introduce yourself. Like a human."
The man grunts in acknowledgement. After an awkward moment, the man extends a (clawed!) hand from under his cape and grips Danny's own. "Batman."
Danny relaxes a smidge. "Nice. Cool. Heard about you and your Fraid. I'm told you're good people. thank you for not being a sentient shadow here to rob me." He lets go of the man's warm glove.
"Fraid?" Batman parrots, vaguely suspicious. Or curious. He's not sure.
"Um. It's like. Well, found family is the default in my culture, so we got a whole word for it. I didn't want to assume blood relations." Danny explains. "You've got a strong grip. Are the claws part of your suit or?" Danny flashes his own claws playfully.
"The suit." Batman says simply. "Why were you watching people from the alley?"
Danny leans back on his heels, clasping his hands behind his back, swaying back and forth. "Just flew in to town, I don't really know my way around yet. So I've been exploring on the rooftops so no one has the bright idea to mug the newbie." Danny stops swaying and folds his arms over his chest with a frown. "Then I noticed something wasn't right. Well. Other than how cursed you guys are. Actually? Might be related."
Batman's headlights narrow in a very convincing glare, so Danny tries to elaborate. "Shades really shouldn't be literally crawling through the streets. The non-physical, non-sentient psychic vampires? Yeah. I don't know if you can see this, but they're walking around in groups besides and through people. Which. They don't group up, and they don't typically go for crowded places. Shades thrive in privacy. They mimic whatever person accidentally made them, and lure loved ones alone. This whole thing is weird and probably not good."
Batman grunts again, head tilting slightly the opposite way. The little bit of silence lets Danny briefly contemplate if Batman is neurodivergent and not actually trying to be a brooding asshole. The older man's tone and facial expressions are flat, he doesn't seem to pick up on social cues, and he favors nonverbal communication. Danny makes a mental note to figure that out later if they ever meet again.
"What can we do?" Batman asks. Danny shrugs. Technically, it's not his problem unless they can't handle it themselves. "Justice League Dark this, I guess. Find me if they can't help. I'll give it the old college try if you ask."
Batman taps the side of his mask where the ear would be underneath. A quiet sound of static fills the alleyway. Batman full-body flinches at the sudden loud sound in his ear. The older man whirls to glare at Danny. The Halfa nearly chokes under the creepy, suddenly hostile gaze of the pinpricks of light.
"What did you do to my coms?" The man full on growls. The cloak is brushed aside as Batman takes out two throwing blades from his (bright yellow?) belt.
Danny's heartbeat races at the prospect of a brawl. Green light fills his vision and starts to cast a strange glow across the alley. His biology reacts, but his mind is screaming at him to put on the brakes. Do not fight the vigilantes! He's not being friendly! Do not the rogue!!
So he puts his hands up in surrender. "Woah woah woah! I can't control this, electronics just fritz around me! Hold on, just, I'll leave and they should be fine? I need to get back to my hotel anyways. Nice meeting you!"
Without waiting for a response Danny turns ghost tail. Which is to say, he turns invisible and flies through the building in the vague direction of said hotel. He flings himself into the soft, soft pillows, and tries to calm his ass down. No. No fighting. He does not need to be put in Arkham on his first day, or whatever.
Elsewhere, the coms crackle back to life.
"-atman?!"
"Oracle." He confirms.
"What happened? The boys are on their way, what's the sitch?"
I was reading Vampire Knight again and thought about the progenitor vampire, who is like an ancestor of the vampire race. The vampires evolved from humans over ten thousand years ago during a period of climate change.
+
Because of time travel, Danny and Kaname are old friends who meet again in the future.
As he became a Ancestor Vampure, Danny also began to exhibit the unnatural beauty characteristic of Purebloods, like the others too as the Clima changes affected his Halfa-Body.
He first did land here by playing with Clockwork's portals, but he did enjoy meeting others with Powers.
It's didn't do him well, being the only one 1 of 3 to have powers as a Human. So this was nice, he did became friends with Kaname who later became the First Vampire King.
+
They meet in a café in Modern times.
Danny: "It's not that bad, Kaname."
Kaname: "Mmm?"
Danny: The ancestors were born from humans." I have two human parents, and you did too."
Kaname: "It's Haruka and Juri, my friend, now. But yes, and your Parents?"
Danny:" I quote:" We always knew you are a Vampire Danno, you didn't notice how we have no Garlic at home? And how cold your skin is." They did think I was a Vampire, as I still was a Halfa."
Kaname started to laugh, he truly enjoys that his old friend too is in this Timeline.
When Batman killed Dracula there was a much bigger impact than he knew.
Dracula was a big and influential figure in Vampire society and with his death (murder) all of that society was thrown into chaos. They wanted bloodshed (war). Its is a good thing that Ra's al ghul has the means to end it peacefully, with of course benefits to himself. For what else could bring peace but the blood offering of the son of the Batman himself?
Danyal al ghul the sickly second born of a pair of twins, too weak to become an assassin.

Ahhhh I love the idea of period clothing so I started musing on Vampire!Danny immediately (basically AU where he goes undercover in Gotham as a vampire, and nobody knows he's drinking ecto instead of blood--)
Inspired by this post in the DPxDC community!
Danny hides most of his ghostly traits in Gotham and decides to throw off the GIW’s trail in a more creative fashion.
He limits to using sp
There's a fic, too! (I haven't read it in full yet hehe)

Summary: Vlad had spent so long planning and so long waiting for just the right time to strike. He was not prepared for this much improvising.
Danny didn’t think much of the last-minute family trip up north for his parent’s college reunion. He should have asked to stay home.

Vlad waited until everyone had finally gone to sleep. He waited for hours.
Then he slipped out of his room and silently crept down the hall.
He waited just outside the closed bedroom door as the couple inside slept.
He waited in the dark.
Sometime after two, Jack got up to use the restroom.
Now was his chance.
The door was left open.
Vlad whispered for Maddie. Called to her softly from just beyond the threshold.
He just needed her to wake up enough to try and find the source of the sound but not enough to identify it.
Just enough to make her curious.
He whispers one last time as she starts to stir and then slips back into the dark.
Carefully he leads her out of the room and down the hall.
It took a lot of practice to move about without a sound, but he had plenty of time to practice.
He led her to the bookcase with the secret entrance. He was just far enough ahead that he could slip inside and the door could close before she made it around the corner.
The door softly thumped closed. It wasn’t very loud, but he knew she heard it.
He made himself comfortable in his secluded den as he waited for her to figure out which book was the lever.
It didn't take long for her to enter.
She was so smart.
"Hello, my dear." He greeted from the comfort of his large winged armchair.
"Vlad?" Maddie said momentarily surprised before she regained her composure.
"Were you expecting someone else?" He teased.
"More like something else." She muttered.
He decided to ignore that for now.
"What are you doing here?" She asked.
"In my house?"
She sighed and rolled her eyes, "why are you awake at this hour? It's almost three in the morning."
"I could ask you the same thing."
She pauses for a moment, realizing she walked right into that. She took a moment, as if considering something, before she spoke again, “Something woke me up and I followed it here.”
“Still chasing the things that go bump in the night?”
“You say that like you don’t believe anymore?”
“On the contrary my dear, I’ve moved passed belief. It’s knowledge now. Truth.”
He stands up from his seat and takes a few paces towards her, “knowledge that I will gladly share with you.”
She narrows her eyes and watches him approach, “What’s the catch.”
Clever as always.
“When the reunion ends, say your goodbyes to everyone and stay here with me.”
“I can’t just leave. I have a family! I’m married!”
“It’s called a divorce. Plus, your children are teenagers, they’ll be fine.”
“Are you even hearing yourself right now?”
“Madaline why are you being so difficult? I’m promising you so much.”
“I’d be giving up even more.”
“You can’t be serious?”
“I could as you the same thing,” she said using his own words against him.
“Maddie please, you aren’t even thinking it over. There’s so much I can share with you.”
“At the price of my family?”
“It’s not like I’m asking you to kill them. Just leave them behind. It’s not like you haven’t done it before.”
“I’ve never-!” she started, but he cut her off.
“Liar!” He yelled.
She stared at him like a deer in the headlights.
He took a breath, “You left me. I was trapped and you both just left me there. Trapped in that house.”
In this house.
“Vlad I’m sorry. We were young and scared. We shouldn’t have left you there.”
“No, you shouldn’t have.”
She was quiet for a moment. Thinking over what was said before she spoke again.
“If you’re still mad about that, why do you want me to stay with you?”
He ignored the fact that he had every right to be mad after all he had been through. This wasn’t about that.
He wasn’t mad at her.
He could never be mad at her.
“Maddie, my dear, I’m willing to forgive you. I’m ready to. I just need you to stay.”
“You didn’t say why.”
‘“Do I need to?”
“Yes,” she said bluntly.
“Maddie,” he really was just going to have to say it, wasn’t he? “Maddie, I love you. I’ve always loved you.”
She shook her head.
Why was she doing that?
“No.” She took a half step back but kept her feet planted firmly. “No, you don’t.
“What are you talking about? Of course, I love you.”
“You may have had a crush on me in college, and for whatever reason you fixated on it, but you don’t love me. You like the ideal dream version of me that lives in your head. That girl isn’t real and she certainly isn’t me.” then she took a step towards Vlad, “Now I’m going to turn around and open this door. If you try anything, I’ll show you how I earned my black belt in Jiu-jitsu.”
Vlad didn’t move.
He didn’t say a word as she opened the door and walked out.
This wasn’t how this was supposed to go.
She wasn’t supposed to say no.
Why did she say no?
“Mom?”
Vlad perked up at the voice. Maddie’s son was down the hall.
“Oh sweetie, what are you doing up at this hour?” she said with a voice so sweet that you would never guess she had just threatened a man two seconds ago.
Vlad had let the door close, but that didn’t mean he didn’t have a way to watch.
He flipped open the false book on the table by the door and pulled out the remote control. A button press later and one of the shelves that lined the outer wall opened to reveal a screen that showed the hall.
“Couldn’t sleep. The house kept making weird noises, then I thought I heard yelling. Are you okay?”
“Oh, I’m fine dear. I was having a hard time sleeping too.” She brushed the hair away from his forehead and kissed it, “why don’t we go back now? We really shouldn’t be wandering around another person’s house this late.”
“Actually I’m a little thirsty.”
“Alright, I’m sure it’ll be alright if you get yourself something to drink in the kitchen, but then right to bed okay?”
“Okay,” Danny said with a sleepy smile.
The pair hugged and then parted ways.
Vlad just stared.
Maddie’s rejection was bad enough, but to see the way she doted on that boy of hers was even worse.
She needed to pay.
He needed her to hurt like he hurt.
To do that he needed to take away something she loved. Take away the thing she loved the most.
It wasn’t her husband.
Nor the daughter.
Vlad smiled to himself as a new plan started to come together.
Ok but can we talk about mortal Carmilla. Like Carmilla getting used to her now mortal body. She used to be a fast, strong, nearly invincible vampire and now she gets out of breath from a lot less running. Surely she becomes less smooth and more clumsy as she adjusts to these new 'settings' on how she moves her body. Like whoops I just spilt Laura's chocolate all over her because I no longer have my smooth vampiric grace. And while we're at it, vampire Danny being clumsy as she got used to her vampiric speed and strength. Like whoops I just ran into that wall running too fast. I just like imagining these two getting used to their new bodies and just being clumsy goofballs as they do it.
