Once again thinking about the Valhalla fight (rewatching it with roommates) and it, in the context of what we know Mikey does in the BD fight with Taiju, looks like Mikey is punishing himself for not forgiving Kazutora when he’s getting pounded by the metal pipe. Because once Kazutora starts talking about how it’s Mikey’s fault, he snaps out of the dead weight state he was in. That was the cross that Mikey was bearing that Draken talks about in prison. Mikey thinks that he’s a bad person for not forgiving Kazutora enough and then when he realizes Kazutora hasn’t even accepted blame, he over corrects and falls to dark impulses because he can’t handle the dissonance. It’s very consistent in the way Mikey would rather bottle his emotions so they don’t affect others until he snaps.
Anyway I hope the funky hat guy's doing ok. As my third favourite background character I hope he's not involved in any of the current arc and is still walking around with his strange little hat on.
Still don't know what possessed him to wear that to a gang fight but i hope he's living his best life. Maybe he left the gang life and has his own little hat shop now idk.
I actually like to think there's like two people in charge of naming all the gang fights. The first guy is just super basic and calls them as he sees them, which is how we got Christmas conflict, kantou incident and 8/3.
While the other guy is more creative and tries to add a bit of flair to his. Which is how we got Roppongi battle of the ashes and bloody Halloween.
They're probably in constant conflict over their names.
(Yes I am aware of the chibi revengers thing but this just my own hc. I seriously don't think Yamagishi is that influential to decide all the names anyway)
