ā§ 1 ā§
You launch up from bed, throwing your blanket off and running to your bathroom. Slamming your knees against the hard ground you throw up in the toilet.
You cough until your lungs hurt, tears streaming down your face. Knuckles white from holding on to the bathtub and cabinet nearby. Your throat burns as you cough, slowly the coughing fit fades. Flushing the mess, you grab a prepared water bottle to your right. Drinking down the whole thing.
You knew this would happen, these nightmares have been getting more consistent. More detailed.
More real.
You sigh and lean back on the wall, your bathroom is pitch black and the floor cold to the touch. You feel as if your skin is infested with something crawling inside. You're uncomfortable beyond measure, waking up from a nightmare. Throwing up your guts, surrounded by pure darkness which reminds you ofā¦
Your turn on the lights.
The nightmares have been a nuisance. It has been going on for a long while now, as least a couple of months.
Though this one was different from the rest, you actually saw the person the haunting voice belongs to.
In previous dreams you always heard him saying the same thing over and over. That small sly smirk on his face as if he won, as if he knew something you didn't. Knew that you were nothing compared to him, that you were wrong.
Once when you were on a red ship. Traveling to crashing waves with a small figure, you still remember his large smile.
Flying on a bright red bird throughout the clouds. Clinging onto the back of someone, his light brown hair blowing in the breeze.
At a little ranch the sun kissing your skin. A muscular man in the distance laughing as you were playing with kids.
A lush flower field. Surrounded by glowing floating dots, as the person beside you made light within his hands.
On a lonely island. Where you sat side by side a still figure on the sandy beach, him staring at the clouds.
Inside a smithās workshop. Listening to the clanging of metal, watching someone hard at work.
A wasted battlefield of war. Zipping through the fighting of soldiers, looking at someone with a navy blue scarf.
Lastly, a hill in a lonely field with a singular tree. Sitting next to a young man playing a lovely tune with his instrument.
Each dream was blurry but as more and more dreams occurred the clearer it would become, but the haunting voice would stay the same repeating each word in every dream. Taunting you, belittling you, every single time.
Each time he would begin to speak is when the mysterious figure in your dreams would ask if you would always stay by their side, and your reply the same every time.
The events that followed never changed once: that awful grey being with the bloody red eyes, the dark place that consumes the land and that monster lurking in the water.
It always ends the same⦠that beast opening its mouth, you falling in⦠andā¦
You swallow, best not to think about for now.
Getting up from the cold floor you make it back to your bedroom looking at your phone. It's time to get ready anyways, your first class starts soon. Glancing outside your window, the clouds are starting to turn grey. WIth a quick flash of light it starts to pour down, just great. A storm, what a joke.
Finishing getting ready and picking up your backpack you look at your desktop where your Nintendo Switch is lying, you recently beat Breath of the Wild. Collecting all those korok seeds has been nothing but a pain, though exploring places you haven't been before in your first run has been funā¦but
Your face scrunches up, now thinking about it. The trail you were taking in your dream was very similar to the path going to Hateno Village.
If you really thought about it. Each area in your nightmares including that person and that abyss, all of it seemed too familiar.
You sigh and swing your backpack over your shoulder, maybe you're just playing too many video games.
~~~
Students run as fast as they could to make it in the campus and avoid the down pour, you one of those students. Making it inside the campus and shaking off a bit of the water, you check to make sure the damage to your backpack isn't too severe. Satisfied with itās state, you start to head to your first class of the day, history.
The class is dimmed down a bit as the lights in the back have yet to be replaced, just were you're sitting. Taking your seat and getting everything ready for todayās lecture you wait for it to begin, pen in hand.
āRight class, glad most didn't decide they were suddenly sick today and call out because of this weather!ā
That got a few tired laughs from a few students in the front, a small smile making it to your face. Maybe you should have actually called sick, having gone through that mess this morning. Well, you're here now anyways.
āRight, so for today we will be going over World War I, the involvement of the United Sates, and The League of Nations. Now! To begin-ā
Your head is starting to fall, harshly placing it in your opposite hand, the other desperately trying to write down the lecture. You feel exhaustion creeping up behind you like awaiting a jump scare in a horror movie.
Shit, you're falling asleep!
Involuntarily, you feel your eyelids start to droop. You try to will them to stay open, but you feel yourself losing.Your eyelids shut. The professor's voice in the background, nothing but a few murmurs.
ā ā¦- World War I...ā
You're in a battleground, dead bodies and blood cover the grass. Swords and shields scattered about in the mess of corpses. You step forward just to stop when hear a crunch, looking down you see you stepped on the mangled finger of a soldier.
ā...Just how manyā¦ā
You look up from the dead, standing right in front of you is a blonde in armor. His back turned to you, dressed in green garps and wielding a lightly glowing sword, covered in blood.
ā....How many that I trained besideā¦ā
His head facing upwards to the now clearing sky. God rays begin to peek through, revealing the countless bodies scattered. The ocean of blood which covers the lush green field.
It goes on for milesā¦
His shoulders begin to shake, from fear, from grief, you dont know.
You noticed his navy blue scarf blowing in the wind, the bottom dripping blood.
āHOW MANY MORE WILL BETRAY ME IN THIS WAR!!ā
Your eyes burst open, you're starting to sweat. A fever creeping from your neck spreading through your body. An intense weight is placed on your chest, you feel like your lungs will collapse.
ā... -When American soldiers-...ā
Your eyes shut once again.
You hear the sound a pacing feet, opening your eyes you see a man in green walking back and forth. Tugging at his light brown hair which looked rather painful. His white short cape with blue design following behind him.
āI have to be perfectā¦ā
You're in a closed off area with a few trees, stone underneath your feet. The wind is blowing harshly as if you're high in the sky. There's something large just a few feets way.
āThey rely on me as a knight.ā
You don't like that large figure, it feels looming, powerful, ancient. You cant see the details, just the slight color of cold grey stone and the outline of pressed together hands in front of itās chest. You trail your eyes analyzing it as you get closer to its face, just to freeze and your breath halting.
ā¦Its staring at you
āWHY AM I ALWAYS LATE!!ā
Your body jolts forward, fuck you canāt see well. You try to make a sound but your throat feels like someone is choking you. Trying to get someoneās attention you try to reach out, but your body is too heavy.
Your eyes drift close.
ā...-The League of Nations organization-...ā
Your cheek is pressed against a cold floor, fighting against gravity you lift your head to see you're in a cave. A small fire is burning in front of you. A person in a bright blue shirt with a navy cloak and the hood on is sitting on a log in front of you.
āA whole group of peopleā¦ā
His knee is bouncing with his hands gripping the fabric of his thighs. You can see just a bit of his lower face to see him biting his lip. A shaky chuckle passing through his lips.
āAll of them with a life goal to kill meā¦ā
You gasp and fall back as he rushes up from his seat. Kicking the log out of the cave, the hood falling off his head.
Blonde hair in a half ponytail is revealed to you, only for him to pull off the ponytail and tug at his hair from the back, again, it looks like it really hurts.
āIM NOT EVEN THE SAME PERSON AS BEFORE!!ā
The fire begins to burn bright in front of you, your breathing is coming out as short and wheezy. Your head falls as you try to regain your breath. You hear footsteps making their way towards you. Lifting your head with as much force as you can, you see the three of them. Though their faces are blurry, you see them stop just in front of you.
You squint and try to remember. You've seen them before. You know them.
Why can't you remember.
Why can't you see his face?
You feel it though, deep inside your soul and gut. A feeling of familiarity with the feeling of Deja vu, like you've seen them before in a dream or theyāre hidden away in a distant memory. Someone that you spent so much time with, shared so much memories with, that even after so many years pass and you don't communicate. Once you rekindle that connection, it's like you've never left each other. That relationship that can surpass any time and distance
YOU KNOW THEM!
ā¦A Captain.
ā¦A Knight.
ā¦A Champion.
Your wheezing has gotten worse. At this point, you're not even sure if you're breathing air in. You hear their steps as they get closer, right in front of your quivering body. The world is closing in, getting darker, but a hand reaches under your chin to move it up.
Suddenly itās warm, its calm.
Your fever has gone down and you take a deep breath in, gasping as you finally get air in your lungs.
Someone is stroking your cheek, a hand pushing the hair behind your ear, and another rubbing your back.
Looking up you see them three are crouched down, smiling and comforting you.
āBreathe.ā
The blonde with the navy scarf is wiping your tears, his voice a low rumble. His gloves are rough, but you dont mind the feeling of the texture.
āBreatheā¦ā
He slams your face in the ground, itās turned to water. The other two are gone. You gasp and fight back, you feel the water entering your lungs. The burning pain of water going through your nose. Your head is pulled back by your hair.
ā¦Itās him
The hideous grey skin differing from the dark abyss you now find yourself in. His dark clothes splattered with the only hints of color bearing red, blood. Though that can't even compare to his eyes.
His unblinking bright scarlet eyes stare into your very soul. The brightest red that you have ever seen the glow lighting the dark abyss and murky water. His face this motionless mask, not even a twitch of a muscle. He brings up his hand with his rough large palm covering your nose and mouth.
āBreathe.ā
You cantā¦
The water is rising. Drowning you and him in the dark, as the water consumes his very being, his hand still covering your nose and mouth. You try to fight him, to go back to the surface and breathe. But he's stronger.
He's always stronger.
You see a scaled body swimming behind him in the murky water. It's swimming around. Just out of your view, only allowing its black body to appear for a mere second. It's waiting.
The scarlet eyed man finally smiles.
āBreathe.ā
Someone is desperately shaking your shoulders yelling for someone else to go and get help. You see your professor standing above you. Slowly, the worry on his face begins to fade away, you're on the floor.
āBreathe, breathe. You passed out.ā
Your body is shaking as you're frantically taking in each and every breath as if the next will suddenly be cut off, drowning you again in that dark abyss where that monster is waiting for you. The class bells rings.
~~~
You make it home and set your backpack on the couch.
After visiting the class nurse, she had come to the conclusion that you had passed out due to the lack of oxygen. The most concerning thing, however, is when the nurse left, you suddenly had a coughing fit. Running to the bathroom, you kept coughing.
Until murky water started dripping from your mouth.
The same water that you were drowning in.
You have decided to skip the rest of the day and go home after that. Leaning against your kitchen counter, you decide to drink slowly a clean glass of water to help with the aching pain in your throat. The storm outside had only gotten worse after your⦠episode and you're currently dripping on your kitchen floor.
After finishing the glass slowly, you put it in your kitchen sink. You'll deal with it tomorrow. Going to the bathroom, you grab some towels. Preparing to take a shower. The moment you turn it on, watching the water drip.
You feel the water in your lungs.
You rushed over and turned it off. Falling backwards and back slamming against the wall. You look at the towels and decide to just dry off. No shower today.
Putting on the most comfortable pj's you own, you go to bed and bundle up. Smiling softly at the smell of freshly clean sheets and warm extra blankets. A great comfort after today's events.
Though a irritated sigh does escape your lips. First it was the nightmares, now it was this weird episode you had during class. Seeing those three figures that you know for a fact you either met or seen before.
Turning to the side. You see your desk, your Nintendo Switch laying just on top. You know those three outfits, you've seen those outfits. And that grey man with the dark clothes and scarlet red eyes, you know for a fact who he is. But it doesn't make any sense. He's from a game.
Nothing about this makes any sense. Why are suddenly video game characters from your favorite childhood game attacking you in dreams? In nightmares? Even still, he's not even in the latest game that you're playing.
The most that you have is a skin of him, Dark Link.
Nothing about this makes any sense, you thought they were just nightmares. Your subconscious playing tricks on you, twisting your favorite game into something horrendous.
But after todayā¦.
After the drowning. Feeling your lungs collapsing, water being forced through your nose and mouth as you hiccup. Feeling it entered through your throat, the burning in your nose. And coughing up that water later.
You've never had very vivid dreams before, nothing that's ever felt real. But this passes beyond just feeling that it was real.
You coughed up evidence that it happened.
You feel your eyes begin to sting and hiccups force out of your throat. A few tears dripped down your eyes. All the stress and worry of these nightmares that now don't seem to be just nightmares. The exhaustion getting to you.
You fall asleep crying.
~~~
It's calm, it's quiet.
It's peaceful, it's warm.
Just like him.
Laughter wakes you up, slowly opening your eyes, you're in a bright green field. Soft laughter makes you turn to the right, there's a kid. With bright messy blonde hair and a bright blue shirt a white design on it.
āHey sleepyhead!ā
You stare at him, you⦠can't see him well. His face is blurry. But his smile shines through the blurs. You smile back at him as he takes your hand to stand up.
āWe got to start heading out.ā
āWhy?ā
He caresses your hand. You feel his calluses on his palm. You shouldn't feel that in a dream should you?
āTime to head back!ā
āHead⦠back?ā
He says nothing, just smiles and takes your hand starting to walk on a trail made of gold. You look only at him, trying to make sense of him. Trying to remember his face, why can't you see his face?
Music starts to play at the very end of the path, it's cheerful melody making you want to dance. You hear people laughing, you hear children yelling in joy. He smiles and starts to rush.
He begins to run as you hold on tight to his hand. The music and laughter gets louder and more inviting, but he's only getting faster. Your hand is starting to be slipping through. You look down at your hands in worry, but you spot something on his hand.
Was thatā¦is that the Triforceā¦
Your hand finally slips through.
āSlow down!ā
You hurry after the running figure. The wind blowing through your hair. You hear his laugh, you always loved his laugh.
āCome on! It's this way!ā
He's running faster, his laughter is echoing through the trees. Since when were you in a forest?
āPlease! Slow down!ā
He's going faster, you can barely see him, the light that follows him is dimming. It's getting dark. You lose sight of the gold path.
āPlease! I can't!ā
It's getting cold, the trees make no noise. The wind has stopped blowing.
You hear water.
You hear what's moving in the water.
You can't see him
You freeze, it's pitch black. You hear nothing but your panic breathing. You remember his name, why now?
ā... Linkā¦?ā
No answer.
You look around and see nothing,
The rippling in the water is getting louder, it's getting closer, it's right behind you.
You look behind to see the back of the scaly creature barely protruding out of water. It's not moving, it's just waiting, taunting.
You don't dare to move, don't dare to make a sound. Wondering if your silent breathing is enough to alert the monster.
"... ļøSĢ“ĢĢĶĶĶĶĢŗĶĶĢĢĢØĶĢĶĢĶĢĢĶ.... H̶ĶĢ ĢĢĢĢĶĶĢĶ Ģ½ĶĢĶĢĶĶ̧̳̣̮̻̪ĢĶ̹ĢĶĶ̳̼.... IĢøĶĢĶĶĶĢĢ̳̔.... MĢ“ĢĶĢĢĢĶ̦ĶĢØĶĢ°Ķ .....?"
His voice! You hear him!
Although you can't see him you can clearly hear his soft voice, though it soundsā¦different. As if he's the same person but a different version. He's calling for you, but not by your name. Although the name that he's calling you seems so familiar, so comforting. You know that name.
ā... Linkā¦ā
The beast under the waves begins to move. The slight whisper alerting it. It now knows it's not just the two of you alone, it knows you can hear him.
It begins to circle you, taunting. As it goes in and out of the water slowly getting closer.
āļøSĢ“ĢĢĶĶĶĶĢŗĶĶĢĢĢØĶĢĶĢĶĢĢĶhĢøĢĶĢĢĢĢ̽ĢĢĢĢĢĢ̨̯̲Ģ̳ĶĶĢĶĶ..... IĢøĶĢĶĶĶĢĢ̳̔.m̶ĢĶĢæĶĢĢĢĶ ĶĢ„ĶĶĢ£...... MĢ“ĢĶĢĢĢĶ̦ĶĢØĶĢ°Ķ ... E̵ĢĶĢ Ķ̽ĢĢĶĢĶ̢̦̼Ģ̲ĶĶĶ̤ĶĢĶĶ̧.. r̶ĶĢĶĢĶĢĢ̿̾ĶĶĶĶĶĶĶĢ̰̱ļø....?"
His voice is getting clearer. It's getting closer and you look behind to see a slight faint golden light.
You pause and look at the patrolling beast under the water. It's waiting, wondering, daring you.
You have nowhere to go only to that warm golden light and to him. You now accepted the fact that this, this isn't a dream anymore. What can you do to run away from this monster? What choice do you have besides calling out to him?
You take a deep breath.
Close your eyes.
And scream
"LINK!!"
The monster under the waves charges up, grabs you with its jaws making sure not to puncture your delicate body and swallows you whole.
The shadow with piercing red eyes stares at the scene before him. A small chuckle leaving his lips as he slowly turns to the left of him, to a silent observer.
āThey're still waiting. You failed, hero.ā
~~~
Legend gasps awake launching from his bedroll; the others waking up around him. He runs to the nearby lake and proceeds to throw up the Champion's latest meal. The dark forest is silent as he coughs and shakes, the moon shining above witnessing the hero in his weakened state.
His throat burns as he coughs and cries. A comforting hand rubs his back and another helps to hold back his now faded pink hair. He finally stops and thanks Warrior for handing him over some water. He stands back up and takes a deep breath. Turning to the group of his fellow heroes.
Each of them stare in worry, Hyrule already with a healing potion in hand. The wind blows softly cooling down his heated cheeks.
Even after being forced to give up his latest meal by the group's designated chef, his eyes hold no discomfort nor does his body.
In fact, he appears more confident than ever. His eyes burned with determination.
āI know where they are now.ā
Finally, after all these years, they finally have a clue on where to find you.

Fun fact! While reviewing this I had to write an essay for my history class about the League of Nations, which inspired the classroom scene. I hope you all enjoyed the first official chapter!! o(ćļ¼¾ā½ļ¼¾ć)o
What to Do When Your Selkie Roommates Won't Move Out Closing Notes
Oh, man, I cannot believe we're finally reached the end of What to Do When Your Selkie Roommates Won't Move Out! These Characters have become so very dear to me, and I cannot thank you all enough for the support you've shown their story! Writing this fic and reading all your lovely comments has truly been such a wonderful experience :)
So, with all of that said as briefly as I could (I could honestly go on thanking you all forever, haha!) Here's a few things you may want to know:
smutty bg3 thoughts:
if astarion doesnāt have a heartbeat/pulse/blood flow/etc., that means he shouldnāt be able to get an erection (non-magically, at least). so i present:
astarion only being able to get hard if he feeds on something. you.
toying with and teasing him until heās begging you to let him bite you so he can just fuck you already. him getting all whiney and pathetic for you until you inevitably give in to him.
āplease.. pretty please, darling, i need your blood.. i need you.. so, so badly.ā
and then when you give it to him you can feel him gasping and moaning into your neck, trying to get as much as he can without taking so much that you wonāt be able to fuck him after.
She reached forward and trailed her finger along the shape of her own smile, and then her brotherās; then she pressed her hand firmly over the still faintly-pulsing glow of their once-joined magic and focused inward. āDream,ā she called, double-voiced and echoing, Delirium of today and Delight of yesterday, coming together in the one place outside of time that alone could have preserved She who had been erased from Destinyās Book. āDream, where are you? ā

The Crash
Authorās Note: I do NOT condone driving while under the influence. Please drink at the legal age in your country and drink responsibly.
Vale was volatile after the break up. More so than usual. He became reckless and messy. Something that did not mix well with his job. One of his more frequent clients recommended he take a short break. So be it, as long as it doesnāt interfere with his job. What he was going to do during the break, he had no idea.Ā
First thing that came to mind was to drink and drink heavily at that. Vale sat on the balcony, bottle of Jacopo Poli Arzente Brandy. A special liquor he and Zahar used to drink on special occasions or celebrations. Not like those are gonna happen anymore. The bottle sat open on the table, no glass in sight as Vale was drinking straight from the bottle.Ā
His head started buzzing after the first bottle went down completely without a hitch. āThere goes about $250.00.ā Vale mumbles out. āWho fuckinā cares.ā He gets up from his seat and stumbles into the kitchen, looking for anything else he can drink. Unfortunately, thereās only shitty American liquor, but hey, thatāll get you drunk quick. He picks up a bottle of tequila and pops the lid open. He goes to smell it and almost gags.Ā
āStrong. Just what I fuckinā need. Stupid Zahar, leavinā me all alone. -hic- Who does he think he is!ā He chugs it straight from the bottle, instantly regretting it. āFuck. I need some time to -hic- cool off,ā he slurs out. Heās drunk at this point, having been drinking for hours already.Ā
Vale heads towards the front door, clumsily dropping the keys to his apartment and car, before picking them up and wobbly heading towards the garage. It takes longer than normal, but he makes it and gets in his car. He fumbles getting the key into the ignition and becomes frustrated. āFuck! Cāmon already,ā he yells. When he successfully starts the car, he revs it, putting it into drive and speeds out of the garage.Ā
Heās speeding down a busy city street, ignoring lights and other cars. He doesnāt know where heās going, he just wants to be anywhere but home. It doesnāt feel like home anymore. Soon enough, he enters emptier streets leaving the city, going over 100 mph. What he fails to realize in his drunken rage and stupor is there is a deer walking across the empty roads.Ā
āShit shit shit!ā He screams as he tries to avoid the animal. He does, thankfully; however, Vale ends up swerving right into a street pole and crashing immediately.Ā
ā
The next thing Vale sees are bright white lights and hears the beeping of monitors around him. He groggily looks around to notice heās no longer in his car, but a hospital room. Thereās a nurse at the end of his bed reading a chart when she notices heās awake.Ā
āHello, Mr. DeLuca. So glad to see youāre awake! You had a rough crash back there. Good thing your airbags went off like they did or else you might not have escaped with just a broken arm, some minor cuts and bruises.ā The nurse is rambling things off, but nothing makes it into Valeās ears. He canāt help but feel like something is off. Really off.Ā
āI donāt feel good.āĀ
āWell of course not! You just survived a car accident,ā the nurse cheerfully explains. She goes on again and this time Vale closes his eyes.Ā
āMr. DeLuca? I need you to stay awake for me! Cāmon, sir. Iāll get you some water.ā Before anyone expects it, the machines start sounding off alarms. Valeās vitals are dropping dramatically. More nurses and a few doctors rush in. While they try to figure out whatās wrong, one of the nurses looks into his chart for an emergency contact. Zahar Bista, 26, emergency contact number 214-***-****.
ā
Zahar is at home watching TV when his cell phone rings. He picks up his phone and sees a number he doesnāt recognize, so he ignores it. Itās late at night anyway, why would someone random be calling him? It isnāt until the phone rings a second time immediately afterwards that Zahar gets an uncomfortable feeling. Itās the same number.Ā
āHello?ā
āIs this Mr. Bista? Iām Amy Drake from Mercy Hospital. We seem to have a Mr. DeLuca here and we need you to come up to the hospital immediately.āĀ
āIs this some kind of joke? Do you know how late it is? Iām hanging up.ā And Zahar pulls the phone away. Before he can click end call, the nurse chimes in more seriously.Ā
āHeās been in a motor accident. Heāsā¦not responding well. Please. We need you here as his emergency contact.ā Zaharās eyes widened in shock.Ā
āIāll be right there.ā Zahar grabs his keys and heads straight for Mercy.Ā
ā
Zahar pulls into the hospital parking lot as quickly as he can. Heās out of the car, sprinting towards the hospital entrance and towards the guest services desk.Ā
āHello, Iām Zahar Bista. I received a call for Vale DeLuca. Can anyone point me in the right direction?ā The nurses page through their system and find the room Vale is occupying. They point him in the right direction and Zahar is off speed walking towards Vale.Ā
When he arrives at the room, he gasps at the scene in front of him. Vale is hooked up everywhere with tubes, lines, and wires. Heās been bandaged all over, and a cast has been applied to his left arm. The nurses notice him at the doorway and usher him inside, shutting the door behind them.Ā
āMr. Bista I presume?ā The head nurse asks.Ā
āYes maāam.ā
āGood. Youāreā¦going to want to be here to hear this.ā The nurse explains the situation Vale ended up in, retelling the story the paramedics got from the crash site. Zahar just stands there dumbstruck. Vale hates driving unless absolutely necessary. What could have caused this?Ā
āHis blood alcohol content was way above the legal limit, so we can assume that he got into the accident due to driving while impaired. I know this isnāt easy for either of you, but please support him the best you can. Heās going to need it these next several weeks. The nurses say a few more things before giving both men some privacy. Valeās unconscious at the moment and Zahar takes a spot in a chair next to the hospital bed.Ā
āWhat the fuck were you thinking DeLuca?ā Zahar whispers out, not wanting to cause a scene, but also not to disrupt any nearby patients or staff. āWhy would you drink and drive? Especially after what happened to your parents. I canāt imagine you doing thisā¦ā Valeās hand twitches slightly before returning to normal. Zahar eyes his hand and carefully grasps it.Ā
āDonāt be stupid and get yourself killed, you idiot.ā Zahar mumbles out. On his free hand, Zahar looks at his watch for the time. 3:14 am. āGuess Iām sleeping over, huh?ā Zahar brings the chair closer to Valeās bed and leans over into it, but not close enough to disturb the injured male. He stares at Valeās face, cut and bruised from the airbag deployment and glass from the windshield. āI canāt live without you Vale. Please.ā
ā
The morning light shines through the pale curtains of the windows, waking Vale up. He groans in pain, trying to shift in the bed, but notices a heavy weight on his left. He looks down to see Zahar hunched over in the chair, holding Valeās hand, snoring. Vale tries to remove his hands from Zaharās grip, which only stirs the other male awake.Ā
āV-vale? Youāre awake.ā Zahar says sleepily.Ā
āYeahā¦ā Vale rasps out, throat hurting. He could drink a gallon of water right now, but I doubt theyād let him.Ā
āWhy would you go and do that!ā Zahar bursts out. āWhy would you drive drunk? Why would you almost kill yourself?ā Zahar is exasperated. Heās tired and angry, confused, and hurt.Ā
āI donāt remember anything other than seeing a deer and trying to not hit it. Should I have done that instead? Killed two things instead of one?ā Valeās voice is quiet and small, unlike his usual boisterous self. Zahar sighs heavily, too groggy to properly argue with Vale this morning. Neither of them were in the shape to do so. Instead, Zahar stands up.
āLeaving now that you know Iām o-ā Vale doesnāt even get a chance to finish his sentence before Zahar has his arms wrapped around the injured maleās neck, careful not to press too hard.Ā
āBe careful, Luca. Please.ā Valeās eyes widened in response. He carefully lifts his arms and places them around Zahar, as comfortably as he can considering his position and broken arm.Ā
āMā sorry, doveā¦ā Vale could feel the grip on him tighten just slightly. They stayed in this position for a while until a knock was heard on his door and a nurse walked in. She greeted both males cheerfully.Ā
āGood morning Mr. Bista, Mr. DeLuca! Glad to see you awake this fine morning. I have some good news and bad news, some of which Iām sure youāve already picked up on. First thing, youāve broken your left arm but itās a clean break, should heal in no time. Youāve acquired a few lacerations on your chest and legs, including minor irritation burns from the air bags.ā She continues on with the prognoses, running through each injury like a well oiled machine.Ā
āThe good news is we donāt need to keep observing you since your injuries are quite minor in comparison to the wreckage. So! Youāll be free to go in a few hours; however, you cannot drive yourself home.ā She turns to Zahar for this next part. āMr. Bista, would it be possible for you to take Mr. DeLuca home?ā She looks at Zahar expectantly. Zahar lets out another sigh.Ā
āOf course. Is there any paperwork I need to sign off on for him?ā She nods her head and asks him to follow her to the charge station. Zahar turns around when he reaches the door. āIāll be right back.ā He smiles slightly. Vale just watches him leave the room behind the nurse. He leans back down into the bed, slightly uncomfortable. Heād kill to get all these wires and tubes off of him. However, he listens to Zahar, takes a deep breath, and exhales slowly.Ā
Vale clasps his hands together almost in prayer. āSorry mom and dad. I never meant to repeat what happened to you all those years ago. I hope you can forgive your son.ā He mumbles to himself. Itās silent in the room aside from the monitors beeping every so often. His body aches and his mind is whirling. God he fucked up, but Zahar showed up. For him. Even through all the shit Vale has put him through. He smiles just slightly.Ā
When Zahar returns, Vale is back asleep. Like the nurse said earlier, they wonāt be discharged for another few hours, so Zahar lets Vale sleep. All he does is take a seat next to the pink haired man and hold his hand.Ā
Kurapika with a Zoldyck S/O
Warnings: uh, I canāt think of any
A/N: yāall should send in requests
Ok ok, youād definitely be rebellious like Killua
Like dear god, your parents could not contain you- and you low-key hated them
Unlike the rest of your family though, you donāt rlly like killing ppl
You also def took the hunter exam with Killua
And thatās where you met Kurapika
At first, he was really cautious around you- cause youāre an assassin, duh.
But then he realised how sweet you were, and how much you despised your family
And he was like:
ohā¤ļø
But he couldnāt let stupid feelings get in the way of his mission, so he ignored them-
Until he realised- Oop, theyāre not going away
So he low-key was like āwe should go out sometimeā
And ofc you accepted
Cause itās Kurapika
Welp the 2 of you ended up falling even more for each other-
You probably help him take down the Spiders- despite him not wanting your help
Cause heās stubborn
Killua would be cautious about it at first
Cause he doesnāt want anything bad to happen
But after a while he low-key wouldnāt care
Leorio would try to be a wingman
Keyword: try
And your family:
HA
āAssassins donāt have time for silly things like romanceā
Seriously, keep him away from the Zoldycks
Illumi especially would hate him
Idk I just feel like he would
Yāall are such a power couple though
And sort of scary-
Also, youād have a lot of last minute dates
So be prepared to go out last minute
But yāall are cuteeeeee
And scary as fuck
Vale stretched as he was walking over to the skeleton brothersā house. It had been, what, five years since the Barrier was broken? He was one of the first to race up to see what was going on, excited that something different was happening in their little town. He ran into a skeleton and both of them screeched at the sudden impact, holding onto each other and stumbling, trying not to fall, which failed and the skeleton ended up basically on top of him, arms on either side of him, their legs tangled together.
He laughed, remembering how much of a blushing mess they both were as they got up, and how scared he was sensing the shorter skeleton behind him. But now they were family basically. Itās been two years since he and Papyrus first went out on a date, and theyāve been happy ever since.
Vale decided to surprise his bonefriend with a visit, smiling as he held a new cookbook for him, as Sans was no doubt out at work while today was Papyrusā day off. Seeing Papyrus always made his heart flutter, between the compliments and just overall exciting energy. Sure he still had things to learn, but Vale was quite patient in teaching him. One thing he caught onto quick was kissing with his magic.
He soon got to the two story house, knocking on the door, āPappy, want to hang out today? I got a new cookbook we can look through!ā He called through the door. It took a few minutes, which was odd as Papyrus was always quick to answer. But after a couple of minutes, he opened the door to see him shaking a bit, a flush of magic over his face.
āVale, itās wonderful to see you, sorry but-ā
āMister, you get your sick boney ass to bed. Iām making you soup,ā Vale instantly said, shooing the skeleton back up to his room. Papyrus had no energy to argue, soon laying down in his bed, comfortable.
āMedicine in the kitchen?ā Vale asked to confirm. Papyrus nodded and Vale went to the kitchen, soon putting some soup on the stove and bringing up some of the medicine for him. It always made him worry since Papyrus rarely got sick, only if he worried about something too much or trained too hard. Both of which he had a good handle on.
āThank you, sorry you had to find me like this,ā Papyrus said after taking the medicine and chasing it down with some water.
Vale shook his head, āItās no problem. What Iām here for, you wonderful silly man, you could have texted me,ā he said, pressing a kiss to Papyrusā forehead, knowing he would freak out about kissing on his mouth even though humans couldnāt get sick from monsters. Papyrus hummed happily, nuzzling his cheek gently before Vale went back to get the soup.
He brought it up along with some toast and tea. He sat beside Papyrus as he ate slowly as to not upset his stomach. Once he was done with it, Vale set the dishes aside to bring back down later, basically pulling Papyrus gently to lay on his chest, rubbing gentle circles on his temples.
Usually it would have Papyrus melting into the touch and purring, something that surprised both of them the first time it happened, but now tears gathered at his sockets, orange threatening to spill as he held Valeās hand to his cheek.
āVale... Why am I such a failure to my brother...?ā He asked with a hiccup, closing his eyes, shaking again but more due to trying not to cry.
āItās been five years... But still, it seems like Sans is getting worse... Nothing I do comforts him, heās always scared of something... Iām so afraid I might lose him,ā he whined out, his voice squeaking and going hoarse at the end as he couldnāt hold in his cries anymore, tightly closing his eyes shut as he let it out, turning and burying his face into Valeās chest, who held him securly.
āShh... Itās okay Pappy dear, let it all out,ā Vale hummed as he rubbed his back. After about ten minutes of crying, Papyrus finally settled to just hiccups every now and then, sniffling.
āHave you talked to Sans about it? Ask whatās wrong? You know how slippery he is about some things. You have to basically corner him to talk sometimes,ā he hummed. On the inside he was thinking heās going to have to have a major talk with Sans, because heās seen it too. He hated how worried it made Papyrus, so he decided that tonight, they were going to get some answers out of him.
Papyrus shook his head, still clinging to him, but was slipping in his grip, tired and spent. Vale kissed his head, āSleep, Iāll help figure this out. And you are not a failure, far from it. You are so amazing, and if it werenāt for you, I have a feeling Sans wouldnāt be here either,ā Vale assured him as Papyrus slipped off into sleep. Vale pulled the blankets over him once he was fully asleep, curled up.
Vale quietly made his way downstairs and sat on the couch, folding his arms. Thatās where Sans found him as he opened the door.
āVale, hey pal, whereās Pap? thought you-"
"He's sick, worried about you, Sans," Vale cut him off. Usually he wouldn't, but this was serious, and Sans had to know that.
"what? but he seemed fine-"
"And you always "seem" fine too, but everyone knows you're hurting. You never let anyone in, not even your own brother. He thinks he's a failure because through these years he's mostly been trying to help you. But have you ever seriously talked about it with him? Showed that you trusted him enough to tell him what's wrong? No, and now he thinks he's a bad brother because of it. He thinks he's going to just lose you one day, so scared that he cried ten minutes straight." he said, getting up and watching Sans as his eyelights went out, looking down.
A few moments passed before Vale sighed, "Look, of course I'm still an outsider to everything. So I don't expect you to tell me. But, when Papyrus wakes up, you are not running off to your lab or to Grillby's. We are going to watch some shows and you will show him that he doeosn't have to worry about you. I know he doesn't, you care too much for him to just disappear and leave him alone, but he doesn't. Understand?" Sans nodded at the plan and Vale relaxed.
"There's still some soup on the stove, warm, and some bread," he said, going up to check on Papyrus. Sans sighed, rubbing the back of his head, knowing he messed up. He went to eat and think things over.
Papyrus woke up not long after, shaking himself off to at least look decent and followed Vale downstairs, where Sans was smiling gently, sitting back, comfortable. The two hugged and Papyrus asked about his day. Sans rambled on about some finds in the lab while Vale got their favorite show on, also getting some healthy snacks for them all to enjoy.
That night they laughed and enjoyed each other's company, Sans showing a real smile for the first time in months. Vale smiled at the scene, later heading out, leaving the cookbook for Papyrus to find.
The next time he saw the two, they looked so much happier and carefree. It seemed they finally talked it out.
