“aunt may!” you start, almost embracing her in a hug that is entirely too much. it only lasts a moment before you remember to let go and you clear your throat, cheeks burning a dark shade of red as eyes drop. “i mean... may. hello may.” perhaps you’d heard too many stories from peter and had formed some kind of bond with her already in your mind. “sorry. uh- kara.” hand extends, “peter’s told me all about you. it’s nice to finally put a face to the name.”

it stings. more than she’d care to admit. and the lump in her throat is almost strong enough to cut skin, but she keeps her face stoic. hard. no way will she let trish see that this is killing her. no way will she let trish see she’s exhausted. that she’s emotionally destroyed. because kara knows; knows that that’s selfish and unfair. that she shouldn’t let it get to her. but there was only so much pushing she could take. there was only so much distance she could fathom. and perhaps, maybe, she’d snapped tonight. maybe she had let it all get to her.  she’d raised her vice after all. and to someone so important to her, she could could hardly breathe. 

“is that what you want?” comes a whisper, eyes focused so intently on trish’s own that she was afraid she’d accidentally trigger her heat vision. “is that really what you want? because once i walk out of here, i dont know if i have it in me to come back..”

   ❝ I think I have started to notice a trend... ❞

   He’s hanging upside-down by his tail from a beam in the ceiling, a hand brought to his chin in thought, gaze focused on the girl-- Ava-- standing below. This is what happens when Kurt has nothing better to do, evidently.

   ❝ I’ve met a surprising number of blue people. And I’ve also met a lot of       mutants whose abilities manifest in... uh. Fire. Pyrotechnik. I wonder if they      are some sort of dominant allele in the X-Gene? How else would they get to       be so common? ❞

“so... let me just make sure im getting this right. you’re a superhero? really?”

“be honest. do you like the bangs or no?”

“this isn’t something you can just.. punch your way out of,” you lift a brow and put your hands on your hips, classic supergirl style. “we have to be strategic. use our words. try for as little casualties as possible. think we can do that twinkle fists?”

“appreciation, well, it comes and it goes..”
