HEADCANON - VERSE II
(following the non-lethal DOTO ending)
As it turns out, the Outsider, or Jonas (’mark of god’ - haha puns!) as he is called, has some pretty human flaws.
He’s an over-eater
Now that he has human functions and once again requires food to sustain himself, the ex-god now finds himself falling back into old habits born from when he was a starved street urchin who knew if he was offered food, he better not waste the opportunity. Jonas is not only quick to stuff his face out of an ancient fear of losing his meal, but oftentimes he will quite literally stuff his face to the point of nausea and/or vomiting when he is presented with a bountiful supply of food. Even when he’s only slightly peckish, when given food, he will behave like a starved dog and not know when to stop eating.
He has too many goals (relevant to THE RAVEN)
Jonas strives to accomplish many goals and his role serving as the Void’s information-hungry deity is largely to thank for simplifying the effort. However, while he is a quick learner, he is still as easily overwhelmed as any other human and will quickly learn to slow down and cut back. Equipped with a brain more brilliant than Sokolov himself, the ex-Outsider strives to learn swordplay, paint beautiful portraits and landscapes, learn to cook, learn to play the double bass, become a student at the Academy of Natural Philosophy, become the Academy’s top student, graduate as valedictorian from the Academy, become head of the school, write novels and educational texts, as well as become a celebrated natural philosopher become known for solving the Isles’ energy/power problem by driving away from consuming whale oil (he already knows how to accomplish this)... All of this among many, many other things.
He still runs his mouth and remains as sassy as ever
He often struggles to remember that he is no longer in a position of pure observation and will frequently make cruel remarks or back-talk the people he speaks with...He gets in trouble a lot. What can I say? Old habits die hard.
